  1. I am still an MK Knights fan even though they haven't turned a wheel in aeons!! Regards Tim
  2. Try the "milton keynes knights speedway" group on facebook, somebody may have a pic. Regards Tim
  3. Rare footage of Brett Alderton racing for MK Knights can be found here.... There is also a facebook group for "Milton Keynes Knights speedway" [please join] which has contributions from ex riders of the era like Karl Fiala and Martin Dixon. There are lots of pictures and comments that will bring back a lot of memories for people. Among the photos is this one of Brett's bike which has recently been restored and presented to the motor racing museum at Bathurst NSW. Regards Tim
  4. This is an interesting little film about the closure of West Ham.... http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=72944 Regards Tim
  5. Is this Howard Cole aged 3 ??? http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=46556 Regards Tim
  6. Dear Debbie, I have sent you a personal message, so you can privately send me the address that you would like me to send the DVD to. Regards Tim
  7. I have a DVD of old Milton Keynes footage, which features a race with Brett riding in it [with Bob Humpherys v Oxford]. I could easily rip a copy and send it to the family in Australia, if they would like a copy. Regards Tim
  8. Hi! There is footage of Colin winning the "world games" pairs with Jeremy Doncaster on this DVD from here... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-SPEEDWAY-197...%3A1|240%3A1318 Also Youtube footage here... hope this is of interest. Tim
  9. The next year was also bad for Milton Keynes when Craig Featherby was killed at Peterborough. Within a year the team had 2 riders killed - a very sad time. Regards tiim
  10. Bob Humpherys was instrumental in bringing Brett to Milton Keynes, I think he knew the family. His first season was steady, but he blossomed in his second season and a few nights before the crash he scored a paid maximum. I think the rider who fell off in front of him was Jeremy Doncaster. After the accident a tree was planted in the centre green of Bob Humphreys training track at Elfield Park in his memory by my dad. Brett used to practice there most Sundays. If anyone is in contact with his family, please tell them that speedway fans in MK still remember what a nice bloke Brett was and are still saddened by their loss. He had the potential to go all the way to the top I thought. Regards Tim
  11. Milton Keynes "The Groveway" is now a housing estate... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...&iwloc=addr The remnants of the track and surround are now completely covered with ugly high density housing Regards Tim
