I don't really like talking about injury to any rider. Allen had a decent year last season. Roynon has had some awful luck and when you break bones etc you are more susceptible very probably. Personally panthers trump card Lewis Blackbird will average 9 plus for me this year. Top class last season
-
I can see Pijper ending up at your place. Seems to get on well with the promotion decent average.....
-
I thought your team last year would be the team to beat. This year I think you maybe have a more solid look. That often can be what wins things. Despite Workington always having high expectations I find the people that support the comets amongst the best I have met in 30 years of watching this sport. Just friendly and genuine. Fiercely passionate, but dignified. This year MIchael Palm Toft could be the steal of the season. Kyle Howarth will be a 9 point guy. He has so much potential and is such s genuinely fair and courageous rider. But I think if the comets get lucky with injuries who knows. Comets fans would love a grand final place would be electric. As long as edinburgh won of course.....only jesting comets may just do it.

This whole concept that you think you've got someone to bite...eh not really. You are not worth expending the energy even replying too. Decent tigers fans like Paulco who bring something whitty and intelligent to the table have all the time for. You calling me names on here well simple just reported you to the administrator and that's all I am saying get the personal remarks off

Relevance to the thread......eh none The league and race structure has seen lots of riders riding in certain positions drop their averages. Not just cook, wioffinden, Harris etc.....if you want to carry on pretending the elite league is amazing no bother pal. Not really interested to be honest pedantic smart arses on this forum do my head in. It's why folks move away from this forum and onto Facebook, Twitter etc...
-
Personally I don't see any value of riding in the elite league these days. It's not that much better than the premier. The fast track reserves and the lack of top line guys in the top league. Riding in sweden or Poland would be the key issues. They would allow him to ride on new tracks against top line opposition. Until the elite league in the uk gets its house in order in terms of structure, regular fixtures and the return of top line riders then it's no wonder there is no clear pathway for guys like Craig
-
I agree pal everyone else knew what you meant and didn't need to be so condescending.
-
Stating the obvious?
-
Good value? Well that's the average he amassed riding in the tricky number 2 slot so of course he is value for it because that is what he averaged over the season. And again what about Cook. Where is he going to go? The elite league is no longer an elite league, it's dying on it feet. If he can't get enough matches overseas then how is going to earn a living. This whole lets bash Craig Cook thing starts to get a bit old to be honest.

I've been going to edinburgh for 30 years now since I was 6months lol. Over these years I've seen many of the same faces for the that time. Very loyal and passionate fans. I was just wondering what is the general age and gender profile of speedway fans? What is difference from club to club? Are we doing enough to attract younger fans or fans who have not been brought up with the sport. Just a general wondering

How can it really come to this with a club the size of Peterborough. Great track, great tradition. Great teams down the years. As a kid visiting England my folks would always take us to the east of England show ground. The home of the fours. The track where I first saw a handy wee kid ride by the name of Jason Crump. I really hope Peterborough are around next year and for the next ten years. Just good luck guys

tkAnother team's thread another ridiculous post

Cook leaving edinburgh?
-
Yeah doesn't leave much to play with. You'd need a steal of a three pointer like Steve worrall was last year if you were going down that road. In saying that if you went with a strong top 5 and with these two at the top not many would beat you at home I don't think
-
I think Lewis Blackbird will be on a lot of teams shopping lists. Enjoyed watching him at Edinburgh last year. The boy has real racing steel and I think he could hit a nine point average if he stays injury free. I think he is total class. Just saying....
-
Covatti has to be worth a punt on that average. And for me Olly Allen is class. Could you have him and stead in the same team? Would certainly give you a potent top two
-
Summers or Wolbert gone well around Brough in the past. Any thoughts....
-
Not for me...Wethers and Pijper have had their day in the blue and gold and quite frankly that team looks weak. No sedgey? No Cook? I think it looks like no Max Fricke. That team would struggle
-
Some of the comments on here are just ridiculous Paul. Lacks ambition etc....there is no logical ladder to step up like there used to be, where Jason Lyons thrived etc. the system is flawed not cook.
-
The speedway season at times drags on and competitions drag on. I was thinking for the league cup would a one off meeting for the final at neutral venue say mid July be viable. Say the new Bellevue stadium. Would fans go. Kind of like football fans going to Wembley. Just a thought, but it would certainly make the competition distinct and give it a sense of occasion. It would obviously mean that the early rounds would need to be done early doors etc, listen I'm a monarchs fan and I loved this season. But broadly speaking would this change be workable.
-
As a Monarchs fan loved Nagy, great rider
-
Craig Cook is right up there with the best Monarchs of all time. His progress since coming to Armadale is nothing short of staggering, anyone who questions that is misguided. the Jason Doyle comparison is a bit off as well. Let's not forget Doyle went up full time to the elite league and struggled, came back to the PL had a great year, went up and has not looked back. Doyle s and Cookies careers are very different with the only common denominator being that their paths crossed at the top of the PL last season. This whole lacks ambition garbage is laughable. The elite league product in this country is a joke. Ollie Allen made a great point about the farce that is the elite league in his interview in the grand final programme. Cook needs to ride aboard probably to take his game to the next level. But to say he lacks ambition etc, is all just utter tosh in my opinion. Bear in mind the guy was not brought join the sport and look where he is now.

Couldn't agree more. If you did something similar in the street you'd be done with gbh Shows lack of class and if speedway had any backbone he'd be fined heavily and given a lengthy ban. It would happen in any other sport. Garrity think you're a good rider but tonight your actions were a total disgrace to the good name of rye house speedway and good guys like len silver -
