Rearranging the riders that way would leave just under 8 for a rider around 23/24 Timo lahti would fit that especially with the new conversion rate (around 7.43) and would be able to help the Lunatic settle. Or any new danish 7pt rider i know nicolai was trying to help look at talent over there to see if any wanted to come over but 2 assesed european riders could be a bit risky. Still not sure perks is likely to be right as alot of teams will be looking at him and think he will end up at coventry riding for the storm which would rule out a friday night PL track. As a separate note Are we looking to still do a couple of double headers on bank holidays this year with challenge (NL level) matches to at least keep an eye on some of our youngsters development with whichever clubs they race at this season.

Just because there is a retweeted photo doesnt mean anything!!! if only it was that easy!! Although Wilko could fit in If we take the obvious likely 4 as Luna,Howe (old fart to get average age up!!), Douglas and Auty Then throw in a worrall (suddely being banded about and could see steve possibly to ride closer to home a bit now he has a young one although would have thought last year would have been the year to use him before we then sold him to belle vue) Throw in Wilko as another old boy That leaves around 3.5 and someone aged 16/17 to come in under average and have an average age of 24 (which has been metioned) that would fit ellis perks who has been mentioned alot (although think a lot of other teams will be looking for him). Only 2 days to wait!!
-
Haha I like that let's have both at number 4 at same time go for a 6-0!! I'm not going to guess anymore keep my money in my pocket!!! Hopefully one will be a complete surprise that no-one has guessed yet!
-
I would hope so being the photographer at scunny!!! Yes that would fit and would be well under the limit aroud 40.74
-
This is just my guess looking across all media types and a semi wish list, but i have a feeling we may see Klindt back and also a return for MPT But yes the other 2 im guesing will be Howe and Auty with rob statig early on that he wanted to keep a core of the team. Think Josh will do better as well next year if he does ride in the Fast track in the EL as last year was very stop start with meetings and then his illness
-
I hate mass announcements as speedway star wont put pictures of all of them in (if they are returing riders i have photos off!!) i much prefer one a week!! so who are they going to be??? im guessing 3 more returning riders 1 returning asset and a new rider just under 5 giving us 2 reserves just under the 5pt mark!! although im sure Mr blobby will be along from the glasgow thread after he has talked to one of his sources and tell us who they are!!
-
No I didnt miss it but you did miss the word MOST from my comment. first few seasons Craig cook couldnt ride the track if he didnt roll and gate only last 2 years he has started passing around there (must be all the off season practise he does there on the track he doesnt rate!!) I also remember his first meeting there didnt make many passes then!! Good example is ricky wells he has always moaned about the EWR track quite vocally yet now since getting to grips with it likes it!! How many riders other than edinburgh riders rate that track same as how many riders rate newcastles that dont ride there regularly! Ask any rider which is their favorite track they normally will say their regular home track the question to them all should be which is your favourite away track
-
Not gathers but not seen many of them make many passes around there!
-
I can agree with some of that but you have to give the rider the chance first like us with lunna and you jakobsen and see how they do. If they were a second year rider down that low then yes I would agree they would shouldn't displace a British youngster but that does depend on what the British youngster is demanding!! The promoters have to live by decisions like this after rules changed to stop them being dropped after a few meetings if poor before they get the lower average to stop a fresh up to 7pt rider replacing them so you would think they would do a bit of research first like rob Godfrey did and had lunna over here practising. (Just don't pick riders Glasgow do as their Aussie and European youngster record has not been good lately!!)
-
You said he will do well to make a 3 so why not get a Brit 3pt rider instead! You also said jakobsen will not meet 7 which is a lot different. I can look at stats too and jakobsen started well last year then struggled. He also finished second to pavalora who got a max in u19 semi but you were certain on his average ability! As I said in scunny thread until these riders get over here on different tracks different riders and conditions and have some races then we don't know how they will do. They could flop or become a heat leader straight away
-
So you reserve judgment on your own unknown foreign youngster but other teams are all rubbish because you look at their stats overseas!!
-
Amazing how many people know exactly what he will average watching one race on YouTube!! Its the same as most foreign youngsters until they get some meetings in them over here you won't know what they will be like. And as for snide comments around using foreign youngsters and not Brits scunny have done more than most to bring them through but its not just as simple as use them, most names mentioned were at scunny at one point and are not now and there are reasons for that ££££. A young rider willing to come and live here can be more financially sensible than a young Brit wanting more money. A promoter has to balance cost, nationality excitement and potential to build the team to not lose money and draw in fans. But of course we all know better and all know exactly what the costs are!!!
-
All depends if any league he has ridden in enough for an average is classed as professional. Will make the difference between 7 and 5
-
Yep Looks like we are LUNAtics!!
-
Keep HOLDER your hats looks like rob is having his usual fun around signing riders. You would SIMply have to be a LUNAtic to gRUMbLe around his PR when it comes to this. Theres SNOW way it would be HALF As much fun if he just didnt keep giving crypitc deceptive clues!! I suppose thats a PERK of being promoter! Although i like the way everyone points to a aussie rider it could be a young dane who is going to commit to living here liek when thomas first started out with the scorpions Thats 7 names dropped in cant think of anymore at the moment!! but i suppose i have one of somersets correct now if the comment that it is not Jack are true and not just another misdirection
-
Ok will have my first go of the off season I think we will have only 3 from last year back maybe 4 3 Probables Howe 7.29 Auty 7.04 Douglas 6.73 Uses up 21.06 Then its look at possible new rider coming in (one hintted at needing a place to live) Perks 3.0/sissis 5.0/Lahti 5.0 Of these i would prefer Perks as he could also double up with the stags then it is other riders/ Assets I would like to see MPT back and believe he would still be on his last PL average of 4.92 (seem to recall it is more then 1 year in EL it then becomes your coverted but if only 1 year you keep your PL average) Possibles Wells 6.46 (although off to ipswich like every rider is!!)/Mellgren 6.57/wilko 5.24/ Nicolai 6.68 (although think he will be at somerset)/Jack holder 5.0(rumoured with poole connection and would not need accomadation hence not in earlier section but expect him to also be at somerset along with max ruml!) So my initial lineup ends as Auty Howe Douglas Mellgren Nicolai MPT Perks Total 42.23 Similar to last year with good solid strength and always a good reserve (mellgren is 5th in the averages!!) and i think it would have worked this year except for injuries at the wrong time. Will update once somerset announce 3 riders i have mentioned in my post and once league structures known
-
It doesn't need to by definition you are changing the make up of the team which means you need to inform the BSPA of the change. This makes it a redeclaration and has to follow the rules even if you bypassed with this loophole how would he get an average. You cant give an assessed average from an assessed average and by the rules now he would instead have to have an assessed 7pt average having raced in the EL. Either way he will not fit in newcastles team. (might in ryehouse though they have plenty of points!!)
-
Yes It would have to be as they would be changing to having a double up rider and double up riders have to fit the criteria. The way your claiming means you could just add a third du rider so say toft at belle vue doubles up as they would not be "redeclaring" their team!
-
Yes you do the next rule states all the same conditions must be met on a redeclaration which would be done to declare him as a double up rider Yes you do the next rule states all the same conditions must be met on a redeclaration which would be done to declare him as a double up rider
-
And you have to meet all 3criteria which he won't as he does not have a pl ave. Although he could quit theel then you can have him on his converted el average or 7pt take your pick
-
It appears yes they were all individuals so probably wouldn't count and which allows his 3pt average in the el. Riding el however which is proffesional does! Going the way he has instead of going up a step at atime has cost him but how do you build rules fofor that as how often does someone jump from bottom to top then drop down. Also was it his choice to jump straight up or was their pressure from kl as they tried to take advantage of him being a 3pt rider as soon as possible Will be interesting to see if anything does change before the possibility of the spiller brothers coming across to race if they decide to
-
Possibly except it clearly states about the nl being an amateur league and the average being different once they have ridden in a professional league eg el or germany and on all cases where there are 2 averages its the higher
-
Pressed wrong button on my phone when trying to edit!! Doh!
-
This is not the bspa stopping anything there is a system in place for Brits to go through the system Lambert gave up the rights to that as soon as he decided to ride elite league outside the draft. At this point he has no eligibility to be a 3pt rider it is either an assessed 7pt or converted average when he gets one. (The rules don't actually state he cannot double down the rules are you cannot sign as a double up rider in the el if you don't yet have a pl average so if he quit kl !) I would have no problem in Newcastle signing him on a converted average once he has one but its taking the Mick to suggest he should be an assessed 3 Brit or not. PS and technically the bspa helped him in the first place as he should not have been a 3 if Germany is classed as a proffesional league
-
If you read the rules properly you will get a headache there are that many loophole/ interpretations that can be taken!
