Needs some interest have you seen our away performances lately!! (although hopefully will be better with ryan back although newcastle is not a good track for him!) We can all aruge for days on here but it will all be with the SCB and BSPA now so we will see what they say when they make a decision whenever that may be (although you would have thought it would be pretty quick as "potentially" depending which way they view it then it could have major repercussions for team building/Playoffs positions)

Just further on the original running of the race its swings and roundabouts and you can make a case for all 3 possible outcomes from the ref. What most people who do not watch at the EWR everyweek (and even then depending where you stand you will notice it better) do not see the incident and options that happen every week. Gate 4 will always go straight around the outside as by that point in the meeting it is the dirt line and also with the camber on bend 1 into 2. If they miss it completly then nothing happens as the rest are gone but if they gate well then accidents happen. When Gate 1/2 gate they go straight into bend 1 across everyone to the dirtline scrub their speed off as they hit it then try and follow it round. depending when both gate 1 and 4 get there depends what happens. in the first run Tungate gets there first just before josh but the man off gate 4 always then has the greater speed so has 3 options (4th option of ease up is not an option as Tungate himself says that speeds you up!) Option 1 plough straight into the back of the rider (Nike ended up doing that to Ryan for his accident) Option 2 try to move wider into heavy shale and hang on for dear life/plough into the fence (king in ht 1 did this and ran out of room on wet track and came down) Option 3 pull hard and cut back and use the speed advantage (but hope there is no-one inside like when Howe went across nike for glasgow so nike tried the cutback instead straight into Nick Morris who was also trying to move across to the dirt line) Josh went for option 3 and had the speed to go past but they have clipped (although it looks minimal) So who is to blame the rider on 4 is following the natural line around the outside and is cut up by a roadblock as they scrub thier speed off to avoid themselves going into the fence. All 3 options have a very high chance of 1 or both riders coming down. Either gate 1 is to blame for blocking a rider on his natural line, Gate 4 for not managing to miss said blocker or all 4 back as its a racing incident as both got the the point of no return too close together (as gate 1 has every right to chaser the dirt im not saying the manouver itself is dangerous) Watch the rerun slowly again and the exact same thing happens except Tungate is just slightly slower to get there so josh had the option to squeeze slightly wider and went around him but even then it was close and both could have come down again. Its the refs call to decide which way he sees it (and very fast usually with no benefit of replays) so any of his choices are correct depending on his interpretation (although we only see the lights we never get the refs version of which way he saw it) The main reason for this post is there is no intent from what happened in the first run to take riders off by josh its just racing but too many people are saying it was dirty when it was nothing of the sort. If the ref had excluded Josh then that is his decision and no doubt it would have been explained to dave peet on the phone as he would have thought it harsh same as if tungate had been excluded ipswich would not have been happy. Im surprised they did not query ht 1 as just becasue there is no contact the way the bend happens earlier can influence where the rider is on bend 2 and possibly on the floor. King went for the go around option and had no grip left in the wet shale and went down. Too much today seems to be that someone is always to blame for an incident and has to go but why??? even on the third lap a collision can be caused by six of one and half a dozen of the other why cant it be a rerun with all 4 (or race off just those 2 riders for that position!) Rant over time to work!!

Well he is not riding tonight. People have got the impression he broke his arm but it was his hand, the same hand that he had just had the wires out from the previous break and it had already swollen up double when he was protesting. He may not know a definitieve answer as untill swelling goes down they wont x-ray but im sure he will have been to haveit checked and the club will inform us when anything definitive is known. (unless being a tough yorkshireman he is just sat at home leaving it sucking up the pain!!)

Just rewatching the first running of ht 10 in slow mo over and over and the more i think the ref was correct. Tungate chops straight across Davies to the dirt line and you see Josh being from gate 4 with more speed already on the dirt line having to pull hard to cut back and the bike bucks again taking him across more towards tungate. This started just before mid bend but end result was towards the end of the bend. It is the same as several crashes this year at the start and everytime it is when gate 1 and 4 both gate, if one of them misses the gate they are nowhere near each other! (and as an aside a 3 riders in view were perfectly still as the tapes went up none of this rolling malarky!!)
-
And as i said amongst posts racing incident but sometimes red mist decends when you feel the aggrieved party just like greg hancock who thought he would snap? Same as Ht 10 running 1 Josh cut back as tungate move across to block him. Goes for the gap between him and davies and clips him racing incident refs call to then decide was it to far for first bend incident and make the decision
-
In another conversation i had on facebook i gave it as possible hanging off the bike sticking his leg out and losing a bit of balance and hence why his leg got as high as it did (not that you can see on the video and i really doubt he would try and kick that high) However the second kick after the race was for real (and seen by an official and reported to the Referee) As for the wilkinson incident i am just catching up on the GP and Doyle just pulled the same move as stefan! not dirty just hard racing with high chance of contact and i also have several photos of the sit in they will be on facebook and with various publications over the next few days. No point hiding them the ref saw that incident!!
-
Very rare they collide especially that far after and if they do you see them trying their best to take avoiding action (as mentioned before stefan and cameron collided after a race and they were lucky to stay on but you could also see them trying their hardest to avoid it) there are 2 stages of intent. If he really meant to hurt josh he would have bailed off and launched the bike at him. As actually happened he meant to swipe across in annoyance and got it very wrong. The his body language and look straight after he has done it is "Oh S**t i have messed up" and vitally not "oh bugger i have just wiped josh out accindentally i best go check he is ok" ****edited as my typing is terrible!!"
-
I suggest people watch it in slow motion!! As i said earlier even with video everyone will see it different 1st video exactly as i described tungate went across to the outside blocking josh who cut back with more speed and went past and there was some contact racing incident The third video is hard to see anything but there are 2 frames just before they go behind the fence which show ash`s foot going out and up but then the shots are too blurry due to the speed and frame rate/ The main incident you can clearly see in slow motion that tungate sees auty all the way around the bend and actually adjusts to go out at him (around when he goes behind the post) taking him straight across him flicking his back wheel. Now all this about shutting off is dangerous is irrelevant a PL rider with it wound on going around that bend will not hit a rider they can see all the way round the bend like that . The panic and rush to get off after gives away that he knows he just messed up by hitting auty rather than just cut him off The racing he did apart from that few seconds was superb the same as he was last week, he looked every bit the number 1 witches fans moaned he isnt/wasnt last season
-
I didnt condone that action though did i but again that was a none racing incident and if he had brought stefan off should have been punished. Whether someone has brought you off or not there is a wrong and a right time to go for them and when it involves a moving bike still it is the wrong time!! Although if you go by everyone who applauded hancock taking off pedersen that means none of those could say anything about wilko!
-
I am discusted at the amount of people condoning the actions because he "Deserved it!". Josh rides hard so ride hard back at him there would be nothing wrong with that but to come from behind and hit a slow moving bike like was done is a completely different matter and no excuse for incidents that happen during racing. At worst if he felt so agrieved in the first run go back in the pits and square up then and have a bit of fistycuffs no harm in that but to then wait until after another race to do it makes it pre meditated and assault
-
My My this has sped along since i last posted!! Getting away from the original running of ht 10 disagreement (although will be relevant later in post) I dont think Rohan expected to wipe auty out how many times do you see riders flick across in front of rider in displeasure after a race but not connect. This time it connected and that makes it a different outcome. I see outsider said he was walking back with the ref did he show him the footage at all at this point? As for saying the ref didnt see it nearly everyone in the stadium saw it and anyne who did cannot say it was accidental so there would be enough other reliable people to advise the ref (what are linesmen and 4th officals for in football one man cannot see everything) Will be interesting to see the footage and think as long as it is sent to BSPA in full there is no issue with putting in public domain. Would be interesting to see it for all the other incidents as well if you have it see who`s versions are correct (although even on sky with multiple angles you still always have disagreements as to who was at fault!) Also I see Lunna has been fined for his mechanics actions but what about Ash and Wilko they were just as bad? On to my main point though. Not all tracks have video companies now as the sales are not there so often unless a member of public is filming or the Official photographer is where it happened and has shots then its all done from witnessing it in a blink of an eye. Therefore should referees have a couple of cameras as part of their kit that they set up in the box to give coverage of the track and just set them recording, at least then if they miss something or are unsure before making a decision they can use the footage they have taken themselves. We see it in more and more sports now (cricket, rugby, American football) where decisions are reviewed where having more than one offical still doenst mean everything gets seen correctly.

Coming to the finish line. And yes his foot was getting that high. I dont think he was aiming there but think with leaning left to get his leg out he has started sliding off the otherside hence his leg coming up (and nikes head down going flat out round the outside so not as high as when generally riding around) His van left mid ht 13 so dont think he was in there long. Maybe some riders should stay in the box though so they can see what view the ref has and trying to watch all riders not just one! we all critisice the refs but they have to keep an eye on the whole track so sometimes wont catch things clearly. Now if every ref had full tv coverage they could look back but except for tv meetings it is rare so have to try and decide on a brief moments viewing

Same question asked by Rob to Chris louis saying how come Tungate was outside josh from gate 1 when Josh was on 4!! And as always gate 1 chasing the dirt and if gate 4 gates there is going to be a incident. Josh cut back to avoid Tungate (luckily gates 2 and 3 were behind otherwise they would have been hit) hence on the inside. Several big crashes have been due to this. Often poor Nike has been involved as the gate 4 rider with gates 1 and 2 going across him its either hit teh fence or cutback hoping you miss them!
-
No not unbiased nobody can claim to be fully neutral if they are from where one of the team are. If you claim where you were and saw it all it would have happened halfway round the bend with catchfence and wooden fence in between and coming out that bend and as you know the natural line and speed push you across to the fence. Auty had to cut back to avoid him and had more speedflying past him. As i said it is typical of what happens bend 1/2 especially later in meetings. I take it you saw tungate try to wipe him out on the same bend at the start of the rerun!! And from my position there are no fences in the way!! Not saying your wrong just it was not a dirty move across by josh just racing the line on a cutback after hard but fair riding by tungate
-
Im sorry but Auty did not wipe out tungate and i had a much better view not one with several barriers in the way. Tungate went straight across auty trying to block him and auty had to pull hard to cut back to avoid ploughing straight into him. Whether he clipped him coming past it was minimal and not "Turned right". All 4 back is probably correct as it is standard first bend issue with people chasing the dirt except this was done slightly later (and also attempted by tungate in the rerun but he missed as auty went past him) As for after the race that was definitely delibrate and Rohans statement is laughable. It happened coming out of bend 2!! and he kicked the back wheel out to make sure he hit! As for the Lunna/morris incident it was a mechnaic who started the fight not lunna but i would not have blammed lunna if he did. Ash was kicking out at him as they came to the line and almost kicked his head he got his leg up that far. Then on bend 1 after the race he kicked out at Lunna again (which was reported to the ref but whether he does anything about that i unsure) On the flip side though Wilko was as much in the wrong and could have been in big trouble if he had connected with stefan when he kicked out at him even though he could feel aggrieved as stefan came up the inside of him on a track where he was never going to be able to turn tight and took him out. As for the protests i think josh and Rob at most should have been involved it did not require the fans to run on the track to get involved but at the same time what options does the referee have. If he excludes a rider from the meeting in a "Racing incident" is that as far as it can go? if he says its a "Non Racing Incident" and it is referred does that allow for a harsher punishment which in the long term might be the better result but not seen so in the short term when he is allowed to continue in the meeting. Wonder what ipswich will do pretend it never happened?? just say it was accidental like the very laughable statement? last occasions i remember are Ben Powell and scunny sacked him and basically ended his career and richard hall who redcar then sacked

I was just leaving the centre green entering the pits as this happened and from what i saw summers came back in to pits looking for a bike he was given one of covattis i think it was and went to start line just in time. Then Lawson decided his bike was better for him so chased him to the startline. I presume the ref excluded him as there were 2 bikes there but if he was not trying to swap over to the lawson bike then officially he was ready. I have some good shots of the nasty ht 11 crash and it was very similar to how ryan got injured. the problem was if you get a fast rider in gate 1 (morris, douglas auty r.Worrall type) they go straight across bend 1 to the dirt line straight across anyone in gate 2-4. David had already took Nike wide so he tried to cut back to avoid the fence to find nick wiping across him. Nick did the same straight after to Alex but he just managed to slow up to cut back before being wipped out. Happens every time near the end of the meeting when they chase the dirt from the start. Thought it was a fairly good result considering our ex number 1 being number 4 in thier averages and think if we had been at full strength could have won
-
Well his record will go on his last average at the end of his last sponsership which was over 7. Reading the rules it appears on a tier 2 you only need to gain the 7 by the end of the 3 years it lasts so it doesn't matter what you do on the first 2. Highest level equates to at least a 7pt pl ave which he has. The second part on reasons why he was not here for the previous season other people will know better but if it was not for those factors he was eligible so sense would say he still should be. I'm sure the MC will use more than just the factors listed but hope whatever they do it is sensible and consistent.
-
Probably under the case by case appeal section under the fact that his average in his last race season was over 7
-
Ryan finished in a top 4 in a state title this winter before he injured his knee so is fine. Alex is different but hope rule wording might change to say 7pt average in your last race season (so in effect your incoming average already obtained)
-
And Ryan douglas was in the top 4 in the queensland titles
-
Probably on the assumption that you have to learn to gate there otherwise you dont win races!!!!
-
Time for my review of the team now all the pessimists (especially many who support different teams!!) have had thier say. David Howe - Was getting back to his best at the end of last season and if he continues will be back to a top rider in this league and should score well home and away Josh Auty - Stop start last year but always going to score well. Being at the Lions this year will help give him more consistency through number of meetings and hopefully help him on tighter tracks where he struggles a bit more. I expect him to finish season with his highest average yet. Ryan Douglas - Improving all the time and expect him to be pushing to be a top rider in the league this year. Just needs to ease it back abit on some away tracks but 2 years experience now should help him with that just concerns on whether he will be fit after knee surgery which it looks like he needs Alex Davies - Surprise signing and the only one im not sure of. Never really noticed him when he rode at EWR but yet always had decent scores so hopefully will be a good consistent middle order rider who scores regularly week in week out which helps stay in meetings. Hopefully upto speed quickly after missing last season with his visa issues Carl Wilkinson - I best get plenty of protective filters for my camera lens now this club favorite is back. 100% effort never gives up and will go as wide as it takes. At home he will be like a heat leader and away maybe more hit and miss but when he hits he could make a big difference in the score. Nike Lunna - (aka the "lunatic" as im going to call him!) 1st of 2 assesed riders in the team and until he has had a few meetings will be an unknown quantity. Until other teams are complete as well its hard to gauge what quality of reserves he will face. However with his style of liking to ride wide is bound to take to the EWR well. May struggle on some of the tighter tracks (although wasnt to bad at leicester) so hopefully will finish around his average this year then build after that Ellis Perks - Mentioned by alot for in the team and suddenly when named everyone says he will struggle!! A young brit on 3pts coming over from australia - Sounds familiar!! Took to the tack well last season and was not far behind other young brits who will be reserves this year at the British U19. This year will be on proper machinery built for league racing not just second halfing so could be a surprise package. Will this team win the league - Probably not but they will give it a bloody good go Will this team make the playoffs - Possibly its all about racking up the points especially at home Will this team entertain - Thats a big fat Yes only David and Alex are the conservative riders and even they can do some spectacular stuff!! dont think the inside line will be used much this year!! Will this team Win at home - Yes and would expect to win most meetings. At least 4 of the top 5 are capable and will be looking for Maximums at home Will this team win away - Early on possibly not but again the top 5 on their day can score big anywhere. If we get meetings where they all click we can win away. Definitely will like the big away tracks more. Will this team Cost a fortune - No which is the plan. Having seen comments on twitter saying glasgow are only just finishing paying the costs of winning the league a few years ago thanks to a wealthy backer!. Too many teams are living beyond their means in the hunt for glory that only 1 team can win. This team has 4 assets, only 2/3 loan fees depending on the arrangment with poole for Perks so not expensive there. All riders are based in the UK so no expenses getting them in and out of the country. No prima donna riders demanding stupid payrates. Several crowd favorites so hopefully will get some regular fans back. Exciting riders so hopefully get fans back, and a couple of younger riders which might get some younger fans interested Overall assesment - Pretty happy with it. A sensible team to be cost effective and exciting. A lot will depend on how well the reserves settle but we will give them time to hopefully and write us off at your peril!!
