Agree but its 8 weeks maybe until your first NL fixture, get the lad in the team,he will be fine,no messing about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its what the league is for!!!!!!!! There were others in the interclass who will ride NL this year,
-
I agree Main Man,give the lad a chance,he is good enough and deserves his chance, they all do,it IS what the league is about at the end of the day,Well done Buxton for giving the lad his chance
-
After seeing him yesterday in the AM meeting at Scunny,he is ready and deserves a starting place from the off
-
I think with ref to Tom Armstrong it was they didnt know if he had patrality, which he for sure hasnt,so is a 5 average What was the problem with Newports team,??
-
Problem is will the NL promotions fancy paying PL rates,im sure the PL promotions wont, also will there be time for the Pl clubs to do it??? Im not sure what the answer is to a low level of teams in the NL is,to be honest i dont think there is one, guess you will just have to get on with it and i cant see the double up teams wanting more meeting

Mayde try entering the Amateur meeting at Scunny next Saturday, put yourself in the shop window??? -
Do you think the promotion at Rye will want more meetings Waco??
-
So the league champs enter the ML/NL!!! End of the day,you have to different type of teams, and both need each other as if they wernt together, both groups wouldnt survive Maybe a mini competion should develop called the "canthackitintheprem" cup, winner gets the rejects cup,!!! I can just see Mr Vasey showing of the silverwhere in the local conservative club!!!!

Does seem a little odd, does he actually want a team place or isnt he bothered??How old is Nathan??? -
Whats the Colts up to TMW,its all very quiet on there team this year?? Are they running???
-
So you are saying,in your post that Scunny have possibly turned the corner and are now starting to breed home grown riders???? Would one be so kind as to tell me what Scunny have been doing for the past 4 or 5 years???
-
Whos Poss??
-
But PL regulars wernt when they started the season, but they developed into them, and think that is the important point,i remember a certain plymouth fan stating he wouldnt turn up to watch an awfull weak scunny team,3 months later the team he wouldnt turn to to see beat Plymouth!!!
-
Not sure how its lost it development tag to be honest when half the team are dual development teams If it went semi pro, which is basically what the Pl is,a lot of these teams will pull out,due to an increase in cost Try telling that to Max Clegg,Danny Phillips, Oliver Greenwood and the others just starting out who were there again yesterday practice, practice practice ,im sure they would disagree Or it that now the Saints have lost the scunfield tag,you aint got nowt to moan about??? And the reason Smethills was reserve?? Talent who many had described as wobblers 12 month earlier had gone above him in the averages!!
-
You must be very blinkered BW if it wasnt for the management of scunny making a point and that being give youth a chance where would the NL be . if it was a solely stand alone league then how would the new riders get into speedway ,its easy they wouldnt ,example of this is when ashley morriss rode for us at the beginning, his scores reflected his ability at the time do you realy think a Dudley or Stoke would have stood by him ,i doubt it his talent would have taken longer to surface,After watching the new crop today british speedway will be better placed this year whatching new riders progressing because thats what is all about unless you have forgotten ,yes its nice to win the league but only through progression not by pounds .So i say drop the Nl and call it the development league because win or loose ill be there.PS think stuart is going for the youngest team ever that has to be applauded

You been telling us heS British Snackette for months so how could he ride in the Aussie U21`S??
-
The thing is about it there are benefits from the Saints all over British Speedway,in all leagues,in the U21`s,U18 and U 15,When you look back at these competions, riders who have progressed through Scunny have dominated the podium, the Aussie Scholarship is another But to be fair these riders themselves deserve as much credit as they get I often read on here about young Brits wanting PL places and looking to step up,well on Saturday at the Am meeting at Scunny, who was there, Worrall,Worrall and Irving, three riders who made the step up with success. Just back from riding in Aussie, cold afternoon, yet they were there, racing in competative races, knocking seven bells out of each other, where were the rest of the young Brits who want PL places, you would think that there would have been a few riders there wanting to do this, but sorry to say they wernt Also having them there excited the hell out of me after seeing the likes of Danny Phillips and Oliver Greenwood[watch these two in 2012] right there with them, add in Tom Young,Skipper Adam Wrathall all racing there nuts off,Saints Nl champs in 2013 why not?? Maybe the other NL lads who want PL racing should get themselves on track closed season too and pitch themselves against these lads who have made the step up
-
Richie was out of reserve by the end of may i think, after that Wrathall,Nielsen and Smethills shared the role ,all of them did there job but i still maintain that scunny won the title by having huge improvements throughout the team,my rider of the year for the Saints was Steve Worrall, put about 3 on his start average from main body of team, not reserve, also when you look at tac rides he nailed at away matches,at your place i think he did one that got us back in business, also, when he went to no1 beat all the the leagues top boys home and away,Heeps,Howarth etc think the total team average was nearly 50,from 36 ish was it??
-
Bit less important now the rules have changed,Jerran was at reserve almost all season where as Richie was only there a short period at the start of the year, infact i think his last go a reserve was his 7 rides against you guys, scunny won league last year due to huge improvements all over the team, there must have been 4 or 5 riders who put almost 3 points on there starting averages
-
Nowt to do with money then???
-
PL: Workington Fours: Somerset Pairs:Scunthorpe Top Ave:Barker Best Newcomer:Gary Havelock PLRC: Howe Biggest improver:Birks Wooden Spoon:Plymouth

What about Josh Auty and Joe Haines, they all returned,Hall came back last year,i know of one other whom was wanting a return, add that to Scunnys recent history of retaining the alot of riders,i would say your statement is along way from the truth!! Speedway is often a numbers game and to say a rider is long gone,is often untrue Pass on my best wishes to Richie for his spell at Lakeside, really chuffed for the lad to get an EL place, really deserves it too
-
Well Malcolm.compliments of the season to you to,its funny you mentioned trips to Shrewsbury,as you pointed out to me the other day,the name of the stadium is quite fitting for left wing monkey hangers [and the prince of Darkness,Mr Peter Mandelson,] "Gay" meadow i think the ground was named, other side of the road from the "Queens" i seem to recall Happy Xmas and good luck to the Potters in 2012[look after Worrall and Birks for us as we plot our domination of British speedway in the years to come]

What a pathetic comment
