What Stoke fans need to remember is that they would have be screwed without Scunnys NL work this year,One bright spark you had was Birks,and then you cant even pay him..........The NL has been such a success for Stoke hasnt it It matter not who is in the league,who develops the riders, or who pays what,crux of the matter is the league is dying....slowly yet most are so blind they cant see it a plod along doing the same There is a place for Dudleys ,the FenTigers and the likes of Buxton,Lynn and i hope Scunny,but there has to be compromise in what the league is about

Although good points,the National league always was a league to start off in and hopefully move up to better things,now,and lets face facts,its ruled by teams who have dropped out the PL or Dudley who i thought were using it to progress,and progress they seemed to have, but dispite alot of talk havnt moved up to the PL, what is happening now is the double up clubs and Buxton cant match the stand alones,so are folding.......soon the stand alones wont have anyone to play with,you have lost 3 teams in three years now If the change that has happened is good or bad remains to be seen,but they are the facts and i get the idea that the standalone teams,as good as they are are only papering over that cracks and stciking there heads in the sand and kidding themselves that all is ok......when clearly it isnt Unless something is done the NL will fail, as the league and speedway as a whole needs the likes of Scunny,Buxton and and other double up clubs who have dropped out

i dont think you could blame the BSPA to be honest because at the end of the day the BSPA are the clubs,so maybe point the finger at them ,i.e all of them would have to agreee to it,Joe must feel a little hard done by though with his parent club using a 3 pointer and over looking him but that Louis call,maybe it will work maybe it wont I think Jayne from Buxton made a valid point on a previous thread that the money in the NL these day tips towards riders staying in the NL for easy money rather than wanting to progress They have to find a way of getting rider like Perry,Nielsen etc out of the NL and on to a better standard of racing quicker,

Im not sure the NL is coming more competitive,it seems that there`s two teams in the NL who are streets a head of the rest,and again i fully expect them to battle it out in 2013,last year you had Stoke,Mildenhall,Belle Vue and Scunny,all went in the playoffs with a chance, The NL was mostly made up of teams with development in mind,now it seems to be a playground for PL teams that have had to drop down and Dudley who are using it to a springboard to better things,[which after not applying for PL this time could be questioned] Is there a link between the change in the make up of the NL and the drop is standard of british rider??? could be... time will tell i guess No Scunny in 3rd tier racing is bad news full stop,and my biggest fear is if the NL continues down the path its on now,you may see other clubs fall by the way side,Will Rye run a NL team this year from there home base?? will Buxton run?? who knows,but times are s h y t e for rider development thats for sure,as the development leagues are no replacement fro the NL.

Newport,Belle Vue and now Scunthorpe seems to be a worrying trend here for development teams,a major blow to NL speedway for Northern based riders too Makes you wonder what the future for the NL is long term ,the trend of development clubs closing is something that needs to be addressed and done so quickly Interesting to read that most of the Saints had been spoken to or "tapped" as the saying goes,not the first time this has happened either,well now you fools have have done this have lost 2 x meeting for your clubs

He had quite a few blasts after meetings at Scunny and was booked into AM meeting before he came over,he couldnt do it as was travelling with Nick Morris who has a guest booking for Berwick that Saturday the AM meeting was on

They way the job is,i wonder if the PL can afford to pay any more than 55 point,im sure we would all like to see riders earning 100`s of pounds a point,but you cant give what you aint got i guess
