  1. you didnt answer my question....why would anyone want to go down the A18 when its totally rammed!!! If it is a red herring, why is it ok to use a guest? im sure if it wasnt a valid reason,a NL guest would be in for Howe Also a second reason is that it has be proved to the correct people that it is impossible make both meetings as flights etc dont work, so infact i believe there is two reasons a guest is allowed Just the same as the rained off meeting at Glasgow last month, the long track meeting Howe and Piper were in[Marmade i think] was rain off and raced on the Saturday and raced on the Sunday As it was re arranged,RR for both was granted Just avoid the A18 at all cost!!!
  2. Why would anyone want to go on the A18 when that is the where the hold ups is?? got to be the worst advice i heard,it is taking 3hrs to get from Crowle turning to Keadby bridge!!!
  3. Simple just keep going on the M62 until the humber bridge,go over that[which im told is now free to clear the hold ups] once over humber bridge take first excit on to round about the 3rd turn on the round about to Winterton 10-15mins later you will be at the EWR i think on your way home the normal way is open and all clear
  4. Im not sure how much proper cheating actually goes do yes we have all seen a rider all off and take a sneaky look, rolling starts, blasting through the tapes etc but isn`t that all part of the game ' Proper cheating" use of drills, bigger engines odd squirt of Nitro etc has i`m sure been done in the past but i`m not sure how much this goes on really One thing that did make me think though is i took a bit of a petrol head to a Scunny meeting a few months ago and he asked me if riders used nitro,,,,when i replied no and asked why he replied " cos i can smell it!!!! if it was a Scunny rider it didnt do much good as we lost!!!
  5. That is simply not true The Premier League was never involved, offered, discussd any FTR, its was and is an idea born from the EL promotions looking to save money And when you look back over the year the PL is a FTR anyway, but just like the one in the EL at the moment, not all make it Lets be honest,if the fast track was what it meant to be do you think you would have the like of Ben Hopwood,Lee Smart,Brendan Johnson and Danny Hasley in it??? Riders like that will never make the Premier League grade never mind anywhere beyond it
  6. But they cant get places in Sweden or Poland because they arnt good enough A chap said to me the other day that when you look at a British riders style, its all wrong and he is right Take a head on picture of Emil,Holder,Darcy,PUK etc, coming down the straight,it looks like a proper, fast comfortable style then take the same picture of the Next generation,Masters,Fricke,Douglas,MBJ,MJJ, ETC and again, poetry in motion Now take same picture of Cook,Nielsen etc,all to cock on the bike,up right position, legs all over the place, awfull We simply dont have the ability of rider with the mental application to make it,with the odd exception They have all spend to long learning how to ride speedway on tight pokey little dumps, turning the bike,up right position, shutting off to enter the corner etc Stick them on the big fast open tracks where the speedway Big events seem to take place these days and they simply get found out
  7. So it pishing with rain and you dont no when it will stopTrack already has standing water on it All riders agreed best to call it a day Ref agrees track is water logged Rain falling in all over supporter catchment area No one will turn up to watch 50/50 if started it wouldnt finish you still think it should have gone ahead??
  8. As long as we continue to ride around pokey little tracks playing second fiddle to Football and greyhounds we we never win an egg cup....Top level speedway now seems to be run on the big fast open tracks and we simply dont have the class, balls or machinery to do it Harsh but true
  9. Think you answered your own question about the 3rd bend....water runs down to it from along way away...so a cover wouldnt make rats ass of difference...water runs down hill..always has and always will and you mention all these times of rain stopping..with the aid of hindsight. When the call was made it was pissing down and i did look set in for the night
  10. Hell of of tough test for Scunny this,i like the Berwick team, similar make up to Scunny, could be a cracker of a meeting
  11. if you added banking the riders would end up in either Hull or Aberdeen ,depending which end they came off at!
  12. How odd!!Proctor gets one straight away,Klindt gets one straight away yet King doesnt?
  13. It means that everyone below him in the averages and one above can take his rides--thats how it works, you should know that as Newcastle use it alot!!
  14. Totally agree, what a total pri ck i hate to see that First best wishes to Andre and Olly ,Andres looked really awfull and well done to Sky for not showing a re run Felt a bit flat after the crashes because they put a bit of a damper on what was a really good meeting, just shows that when you invest a bit of money, time and effort into a track, speedway can be so entertaining The Rebels were there for the taking last night i thought but Sheffield carrying riders who clearly were not fit, admire them for having a go but in the end they let there fans down by riding last night Learning curve for the new manager and promotion i guess On the whole ,well done to Sheff for putting on a great show!
  15. Mark always does say that, but what do you expect from a rider who can gate yet cant pass wind,on a "race track" Friday was one of his better meeting at Scunny to be fair when you have riders 20 years younger than you passing you inside and out,i guess it is a bit tricky!
  16. Huge!...but its a bit like a lady i once met from up your way...everyone gets a go with it during the evening
  17. Great to hear you had a nice good night,im thinking Scunny should extend the offer made to the Birmingham fans to the Newcastle supporters, then they will at least see how to prepare a race track and put on some entertainment Fair play to the track guys,7 days of plus 25 temperatures and not a speck of dust all night Joking aside,it was a top class meeting, both sets of riders adding to the entertainment, got to also say bad luck to Aaron Summers, rode his nuts off for very little reward
  18. make no odds in this modern age where travel is actually easy and prices are not that bad Its not as if Italy is the other side of the world is it,
  19. Only way to stop this is when it's clearly possible to get to a meeting and they don't show,,a simple 28 ban or NL guest Unless the meeting is on the actual day of a riders club meeting...no RR. Time to be strict with this situation
