On the flip side, should a club like Boro who are trying to run a business and get their fixtures in,worry because a rider is having a testimonial?? im not so sure
-
Sadly i dont fit into that 18-35 agebracket now...!
-
JQ..would he bring in extra fans? im not sure. I was in local town last night and town was full of 18 -35 year old spending money...lots of it.Thats what your against..sex ..drugs and booze on a Friday ,or 15 heats of speedway and a bit of the Bee Gees I no where i would rather be!!

Brilliant! what the feck has a bit of fun about a young rider got to do with Olham Athletic and Ched Evans...you be reporting me to Charlie Webster next! On another note,i did hear that the big lass did fit in the van and she was Brilliant!!! Take it Easy!

All these events you speak about are needed yes,but im sure they were all organised by a supporters club, not the club directly Where is that club,? do we have one? You cant expect RG and Gail to spend anymore time [or money] organising this type of thing, there simply isnt enough hours in a day to do it Most of the work done as Scunny, and other clubs is done for no reward and sheer love of the club/sport, everything from familys putting over seas rider up,sponsoring, meeting compnays to bring in income etc all done out of good will The club needs a functioning supporters club, with decent folk running it to set up these events, Paul Duff is the perfect man for the job but like the rest of us has family and full time job to work around---its not easy, but it needs to be done One last thing is the connection between the riders and the supporters,to my eyes there is one big difference to the old days, National League and Premier League, wether it right or wrong,Premier riders are a little different to a group of kids that we had in the NL Take Klindt for example, how many of the fans met him, very few i guess, but he is the most approachable rider ive ever met,a genuine lovely guy,but he was riding in many leagues and after most meetings was legging it to catch a plane, fix his bikes or to see his young family David Howe is another, will take to anyone,no drama..but alot of time was is riding else where the following day, many in France,so again would have to get away quick after meeting, also again a young family to spend time with. Compare that to the NL boys of old, daft a brush,no other commitments, single, like a drink etc..easy to mix with fans as a NL rider once said to me---"to get a woman here, all you need is a set of kevlars and an average", after walking about of bar later was heard saying " if she fits in the van i`ll do her" Brilliant Different riders now!!! On a serious note things are being done to help the situation!!!

Tyson Nelson has always been a huge talent,if he gets over this time he could be a good signing for the Rockets,be interesting to see what he can get his average up to
-
How is pointing out the good things telling you off? I fail to see to be honest what else RG and the promotion can do to put punters through the gate Press and Practice wont make a rats ass different to the crowds, its a waste of time---what you need is an open day, your average newby doesnt give two hoots about a press day---but it it was an open day folk may just come for a look PA system----put 3k in and you will get a new PA sysem--simple Lights to fill a program in??? ive never struggled to be honest!! With RG on the mc,i fail to see how the club can be more open,he tells it bascially as it is,100% connection to the crowd straight from the top Talk the job up,not down,be positive about the place and speedway in general, you may enjoy it And make sure every one who is the stadium pays, zero free tickets, another problem at speedway clubs, not just Scunny Twitter has taken over from the forum, simple as that
-
What has really gone wrong with the Club? Won the PL league, Won the NL, made playoffs, track of the year many times, always a competaive team and paid the bills!!! Not a great deal wrong with that record i dont think Problem is alot of the time is folk contiually puliing the club[not just Scunny, speedway clubs in general] down
-
100% it is...but it was the same when he signed!!!...i do wonder if there wasnt a team place at Boro....would he still have work commitments?
-
I seem to remember "work commitments" was used when Olly left Scunny and signed for Coventry!! couldnt travel up on a friday or something like that was used! Busy lad on a friday...!
-
So why does the EL and PL subsidise the NL then Its called progress...and riders need that
-
You could say well done to the BSPA for getting away with it for so long!!!. Teams and speedway in general have done ok out of Aussies on a 5!!!
-
isnt the idea of the NL to feed the leagues above it?
-
Not sure to be honest...for some reason i thought it was top 3..could be wrong tho!
-
If he gets a work permit you mean....has the lad actually finished in top 3 in state titles???
-
Allthough a good point,im not sure its all down to investment,i hate to say it but the Aussies seem to have the right winning mentality that seems to have been eradicated in the UK by Guardian reading bearded loons, who seem to think competative sport is wrong Investment helps yes,but i know for a fact that, for example, Ryan Douglas rides an engine that cost 1k from a from National league rider who couldnt make it go Just hope the UKBA show some sense and let riders of ability come and race here!
-
Won the league without a No.1 with a 9 point average i think!
-
Do you honestly believe they were told he was a 7 after they declared their team?
-
Yes Sheff did know this as it was only way he would come...if he didnt have this he wouldnt be a 7 either...as with no top placing in State titles or Aussie rounds he wouldnt have got a work Permit!
-
Good little rider but he wont get anywhere near a 12!!!!
-
When you pay them it helps!
-
Cold Cup will be Birmingham one and Birningham two,Mildenhall and kent cant see it being any other clubs involved honestly Lynn my be there or of there abouts i hope Is Len running Double headers? Dont think there will be much doubt where Perks will end up really!!!!
-
Quite obvious why the NL have ditched the play off...simple not enough dates...2 clubs racing on one track with one race night,Rye house track sharing with the rockets, plus len running a British semi i guess and NLRC...Kings Lynn share a track...as do Coventry....simple isnt enough dates to do it!!
-
If Glasgow are found to have made an illegal approach for Summers then in think they should buy him Summers I guess is Redcars prize asset,as well as a top man around the STMP,now he's off for the dollar up north....Redcar should be compensated in some way I feel It's hard for the smaller clubs to build teams within their budgets, and a club like Redcar loosing a quality rider like Summers Is a big blow to them
-
Everyone knew...as did Somerset!!
