  1. But the important part of it was the speedway. A top drawer race meeting, which was well run by the referee with the 2mins time allowance used very sensibly to eliminate any "messing about" by riders.
  2. I think the major difference here is the "opportunity". Belle Vue have had to live with an awkward track since the the day they moved into the greyhound stadium, and it has already been stated that the track at the new stadium will be totally different to the current one. CVS missed his opportunity when Monmore was re- designed, and he had pretty much a blank canvas on track design. However he finished up with something very similar to the track that had been there previously, when so much more could have been done. Incidentally the fact that Wolves are so poor this year doesn't bother me , quite the contrary in fact.
  3. If he has just got on the phone right now , I would imagine he would be a few weeks too late
  4. First of all , it didn't upset me in the slightest, I'm all for folk saying what they think if their point is valid. But you didn't do yourself any favours with that outburst in my opinion.
  5. Hi Brummie Rebel, Was it you in front of the box giving the referee the benefit of your opinion after the exclusion of Kurtz by any chance?
  6. Well judging by the crowd reaction last night, Nicki P only had one fan in the stadium. That was the electric one that his mechanic waves under his nose in the pits between races.
  7. I must say , having seen this it leaves me feeling a bit blank.
  8. 3 more years like this and you could be ready for suicide
  9. Perhaps you could change your name to "white flag",
  10. Unfortunately I don't expect it will create the slightest impression with the clowns at bspa towers. They are more into vendettas than they are trying to help a very very good british youngster.
  11. Just to keep you on the edge of your seat.
  12. You mentioned the shape of the track. This is something that has puzzled me too. Sometime back I worked very close to Monmore , around the time of the stadium improvements, which included a new dog track being installed, freeing up extra space around the back straight area of the speedway track. One day a" big wig" from Ladbokes left his car with us for some work to be carried out. I offered to drop him off at the stadium, and whilst driving round there I quizzed him about the layout of the new speedway track. He was very clear with his reply, the extra space created could be used for the new track, and the decision was entirely in the hands of CVS. The extra space wasn't used , which is a shame really because monmore could have had a bigger circuit with a much better shape.
  13. Must have been. Half of them were Coventry fans.
  14. I don't know, but Kelv & Nige said on tv last night that Leicester were" on the up now"
  15. I wonder if any Bees fans still have the wooden spoons that were handed out by Wolves supporters when Coventry finished in last place ? It might be an appropriate moment to dust them off so that they can be returned to the rightful owners in a short while.
  16. So the Express & Star are reporting that CVS has signed up for another 3year deal with Ladbokes to keep speedway at Monmore
  17. But nothing like the number we get when the pirates visit .
  18. Max Fricke , a developing talent in my opinion. Would very much liked to have seen him in the Bees team this year
  19. Agree with that. We took our 8yr old grandson to Brandon on Friday and he was trying the "high five act" when the riders came back to the pits ,but complained that they "just left his hand hanging there" .However I think he enjoyed his evening, as he apparently ran into his parents room at 3am on Saturday waking them up and shouting 51-39 Dad..
  20. As will the Bees, given the present form of HA & Robbo.
  21. Bomber just needs to find a little more straight line speed and he could be in business.
  22. That's quite interesting. I was only chatting to a couple of speedway friends last night about Mondays debacle, and I said to them that given what was happening at FIFA , we might have to re-introduce the death penalty in this country in order to suitably punish the administrators of british speedway if ever they got brought to book
