Just to stop the speculation I expect, we have an early announcement on the bees website. Thurs Summers for Robbo. Friday R/R for Hans & Ludvig Lindgren for Robbo. Weather forecast not looking good fortunately. -

Save Coventry Speedway - Meeting July 23
Dave Jones replied to speedybee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That one has been quashed by the local councillor, along with a few other bits of speculation including the supposed preservation order on parts of the stadium..Mick Horton's curfews were described as "self imposed" I believe. It's all in Speedybee's excellent report, a link to which is in the post above yours. -
If that is so, what's the point of people calling when the guy at the other end of the phone isn't at the stadium and is probably in no better position to comment on track and weather conditions than I am from 160 miles away.
-
Do you mean that there is someone at the stadium answering phone calls before Bryn turns up ? Well I never!!

Just another example of the officials shooting themselves in the foot, which has happened quite regularly since they took over the promotion. The most important aspect of it all for me is the way that they have wrecked the reputation of what was once the most well respected speedway club in the country.

It's all well and good quoting the rules to us. Everyone knows they are abused left right and centre every week and rarely applied in the same manner from one meeting to the next.

Belle Vue V Leicester Mon 13th July
Dave Jones replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think that I will have to poo-poo that idea. -
It happens regularly these days. Workington have done it just today. The only difference really is that the Cov - Poole match was on sky, and GSI lied about trying to contact the bees beforehand IMO.
-
I have no doubt that Phil Rising has much better information sources than the average speedway fan, so I wouldn't discount the fact that something has gone on between Bomber and Gerhard myself. In true speedway style it will probably all be swept under the carpet in order to protect the reputations of all concerned.
-
Just out of interest, Bomber was using the Gerhard engine again last night at Brandon. As was PK.

Strewth!!! Two teams listed in riding order on a bees topic. That's a few less programme sales tonight. Mr H won't be happy. -
I know we have only heard one side of the story, but Bomber's actions sound completely out of order to me.

Wolves Vs Bees 29/june/15

I think the major difference here is the "opportunity". Belle Vue have had to live with an awkward track since the the day they moved into the greyhound stadium, and it has already been stated that the track at the new stadium will be totally different to the current one. CVS missed his opportunity when Monmore was re- designed, and he had pretty much a blank canvas on track design. However he finished up with something very similar to the track that had been there previously, when so much more could have been done. Incidentally the fact that Wolves are so poor this year doesn't bother me , quite the contrary in fact. -
Well judging by the crowd reaction last night, Nicki P only had one fan in the stadium. That was the electric one that his mechanic waves under his nose in the pits between races.
-
I must say , having seen this it leaves me feeling a bit blank.

King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July

Unfortunately I don't expect it will create the slightest impression with the clowns at bspa towers. They are more into vendettas than they are trying to help a very very good british youngster. -

You mentioned the shape of the track. This is something that has puzzled me too. Sometime back I worked very close to Monmore , around the time of the stadium improvements, which included a new dog track being installed, freeing up extra space around the back straight area of the speedway track. One day a" big wig" from Ladbokes left his car with us for some work to be carried out. I offered to drop him off at the stadium, and whilst driving round there I quizzed him about the layout of the new speedway track. He was very clear with his reply, the extra space created could be used for the new track, and the decision was entirely in the hands of CVS. The extra space wasn't used , which is a shame really because monmore could have had a bigger circuit with a much better shape. -

Must have been. Half of them were Coventry fans.
