  1. The problem with the Bees side is quite simply that it was constructed very very poorly. That was obvious from the moment it was announced , it required changes early on in the season and they weren't forthcoming. The only person to blame for that is Horton, he is ultimately responsible for what happens. There is no point continually aiming criticism at the various riders , the bottom line is that the team building for this year is garbage.
  2. It seems to me that Horton is giving that theory a trial run this season.
  3. There may have been poorer teams , but never such a bunch of untrustworthy incompetents in charge .
  4. Having watched his performance ,both on the track and in the pits last Monday I would suggest probably not.
  5. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/future-homeless-coventry-bees-could-11578057? Some more news .
  6. Judging by Lindgren's pace on Monday there's not a lot wrong with the Gerhard engine . I have no idea why bomber isn't using them this season to be honest.
  7. He is back on GM engines , tweaked by Brian Andersen I believe.
  8. I don't see a deal here for any fan who attended one of the last two Storm matches simply to get the advertised concession price of £10 for Mondays meeting. In fact you could argue that it will have cost them £22. The timing of the announcement "stinks", but not really a surprise.
  9. 5 years of Horton & Watson does feel like a life sentence.
  10. It's not just about success on the track is it though? Horton took on a club with a massive amount of respect throughout speedway. Over the time he has been in control we have seen one PR disaster after another, and his style of management is alien to anything we have encountered in the the history of the club. This year he has alienated a section of his fan base with his admission policy. He doesn't give me the impression that he has the best interests of the fans at heart.
  11. It wasn't too long ago that the bees had riders ringing up asking for team places ( before Horton &co of course). I bet that phone line is as quiet as the Carlsberg complaints dep't telephone nowadays.
  12. We all stuck by the club , because we knew that the promotion had the best interests of the fans at heart and things would improve. The current promotion are just taking the P***.
  13. He's just regurgitating the garbage spouted by Mick Horton and his crew. Gullible is the description I would use
  14. Typical of the ruling body. Tinkering around the edges of the sport instead of addressing the real issues .
  15. i agree. We got to know many Cradley fans back in the days, some of whom we are still in contact with. Dudley Wood became " a second home" after Brandon and we tried to get there as often as we could. The fans gave us plenty of banter because they knew who we supported but at the same time were always very welcoming, and there was always a drink behind the bar after the meeting for myself and my wife. Whenever we bump into any of the fans nowadays they are always happy to chat about the good times we had at DW . They are a"very special type of fan" at Cradley, and it shows with their loyalty to the present promoters. It would be great to see them back in their own stadium soon.
  16. I wouldn't use the word miserable myself. More a case of expecting a more professional approach from the club, something that has been sadly lacking for the last 4& bit seasons.
