We were told many times that Mick Horton had a deal in place to lease the stadium, indeed we were also told that the stadium owners were prepared to sponsor him by way of a reduction in his rent. It was always obvious that in order for the stadium to operate it would be necessary for a deal to be struck with the stox,and we were told several times that meetings had taken place , deals were agreed and then reneged upon. IMO he was never going to be able to run that stadium, the costs were just too great for him, if you remember he was one of the promoters who attended the last BSPA agm demanding a cut in costs because he couldn't afford to run his team.Not the words one would expect to hear from someone who allegedly was about to take on the lease of a very expensive stadium. The bottom line is that he was the owner of the speedway club and had responsibilities to his fan base to give them an explanation. All we heard was that he had lost 200k and was angry, also he was standing down so that others could take up the fight to save the club. He might have lost some money but the supporters of the bees have lost so much more.

Spot on, I'm sure everyone would like to hear some honest answers why he and his fellow promoter failed to get a team on track at brandon this year.

Except that he didn't invest 200k on a three year venture, he bought in in 2011.

I have no doubt that the fans would be quite happy to contribute if they were sure that their money was being used for the purpose described. In the case of the NSSC everyone was happy that the funds were being looked after properly. In Horton's case, I doubt many would have the same confidence.

I think we might have got through the "war at the AGM" if that had been the end of the dirty tricks from some of the other promotions. However the situation continued into 2011 ,and I believe the way Ford underhandedly used his position to pull yet another stroke with his action regarding P Kildemand was the final straw for Sandhu. I agree that selling to Horton was a massive error, and anyone who has been around speedway for a decent time period would know that.

I think "the stadium fund" is 21st century speak for the pocket in the rear of Mr Horton's trousers.

To add insult to injury the same guy is still involved with another club, although I think there is at least one stadium that he's not allowed to enter as he owes them too allegedly.

Oh, The alleged house builder who could blow Ford out of the water with finance, who knew how to promote his team, and played by the same rule book that Ford is still using . The very same person that got shafted big time ( twice) by your Mr Ford because he didn't want anyone around that might threaten his mission for supremacy.

I don't understand the fuss about Sandhu forcing Martin O & his mother out. Anyone who has been around a while will have seen this type of situation in everyday business. Someone buys out a company, when public announcement is made it invariably includes the words " So & So the previous owner will be continuing as director of the new company" , all intended to keep the existing customers sweet. A few months later when the new owner has his feet under the table the former owner is eased out. The practise has been going on for for years, no big deal really.

What do you imagine Mr Ford owns at Poole Speedway that he can sell for millions ?

Eternal Father strong to save ?

Back in the early 60's I regularly saw advertising posters for Coventry Speedway in towns as far away as 40miles from Brandon. The posters were changed each week to advertise the next team to visit ,and even included a list of half a dozen or so riders who would be appearing. How times change, not only have the posters disappeared , but quite often fans turn up to meetings without knowing who's in their team.

I think you need to make up your mind. Just yesterday you were telling us that Sandhu is Brandon Estates,now you are telling us they wouldn't want him operating the stadium. Which Is it!!!

I don't think anyone will frown upon pooles success, only the manner in which it is achieved.
