They're not called Costa without good reason. -

He's a bit of a miracle man is Carlos , he even managed to recover from being out of today's race to finishing on the rostrum. Not many can claim that -
King’s Lynn vs Sheffield, May 16th 2024

Very likely he's still got a strop on after the 2 point deduction for his flouting of the rules. -
That piece made me smile, Havelock had difficulty managing his own life never mind anyone else's.

King's Lynn v Birmingham 04/04/24

I think we've all done something like that. In the very early 1960's 4 of us drove a similar distance in a very ancient Austin Sheerline which did about 20mpg to Poole for meeting , only to be greeted at the carpark entrance by an attendant who explained the meeting had been called off. As for madness/passion/dedication? I would say all three. -
I think he's on record in stating that he has two years left at Perry Barr, the owners have said the dogs will be going to the new track in Wolverhampton by the end of the year & then they will be planning their next moves to develope the site for other use. Tolley has also said that he needs to see a marked increase in attendances this year, if not next season won't happen.

Did you see the ?symbol at the end of Najjer's post? Perhaps it would be an idea if you checked out its meaning.

I did consider leaving her at home but i didn't dare suggest it I really like the Belle Vue track & stadium & the trip up there through the peaks is a lovely drive in daylight hours, but i find the return at night very demanding on what are mostly twisty unlit roads. The alternative is a longer journey via the m6 & A50/A500 across to the east mids, a journey with the inevitable delays for road works /closures causing a much longer journey time. Last night I watched the speedway, then watched the first episode of Coma on Channel 5 which had been recording & was " tucked up" in bed by 11.00 pm

Swindon Robins 2024 team predictions

Well Bob is old. -
I think we all understant that is a possibility, & as the latest update states the group have"considered their strategy under every likely circumstance". However you view the situation there can be no doubt that the group have performed a minor miracle getting us this far, with huge support from the council, MP's , the residents of the local area, &supporters from UK and futher afield and deserve massive credit for what has been achieved to date.

They did & i think the 6 week period expired last Friday.

That was a huge surprise yesterday, hopefully, instead of building lots of little brick walls on the site, Brandon Estates have just run into a massive one themselves.

In the video Jeff Davies does state that the owners could go to the High Court if there was anything legally wrong with the government inspector's report, but the SCS group had read it & that they couldn't see any issues. One member of the SCS group works in planning & obviously knows his way round the system, so we can only keep everything crossed & see what happens next.

I was always a Rugby bend viewer, but i would be more than happy to make that a" back straighter" if the opportunity should arise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvapQLnPRiY Here is a reason why your suggestion should not be considered Just watch the emotion from Jeff Davies in his interview & then consider the support from thousands of people from all around the UK & Europe for retaining the stadium. Also consider the huge support from the local residents of the area around the stadium who voted heavily for it to remain when a survey was carried out. Indeed when the fund raising appeal to help with the cos tof the SCS group obtain a legal representative for the inquiry was opened there was a large contributution made by the residents of the properties immediately next to the stadium. That is an indication of the level of support this fight has. Developers always use the same tactics when they aquire land without planning & usually the councils roll over , in this case they haven't & I say well done to them for fighting this out.
