I nearly fell over in laughter at the last paragraph in the SCB statement.. Mick Horton has no plans to return the bees to Brandon anytime, even if it were possible.

There has been a fire at Brandon apparently . The old turnstile block has been damaged. Fortunately a neighbour called the fire brigade and saved further damage. With the Gypsies being present on site the photos make a very sad sight. Even the BSPA suspicious of Horton's motives? It doesn't get much worse than that.

When I read that I immediately thought of the Coventry Bees promotion over the last few years.

Watched the Fleetwood v Leicester FA cup match on tv today and the commentator mentioned that the home teams ground is built on the old speedway track site, also that he watched speedway at Bristol. And,for the many bees fans who grew up with the C O running the show, the last five years at Brandon, watching the club being dragged down year on year, the pain is even greater.

The problem is that most bees fans don't see the move to Leicester as something that will help to secure the clubs future. The general feeling is that it will hamper the efforts of a more sincere group of people who really do want to get the club up and running with a proper future.Horton is taking the club there for his own reasons, and I suspect large financial support from a company who believe their interests would be better served if the speedway club were " out of the way."

That's about it. Blot out the last five seasons and remember the bees for the great club it was, whilst keeping fingers crossed for something better to come from the Save coventry Group.

I've actually been very close to you a couple of times this last season at meetings, I've been able to see how you conduct yourself at speedway and conclude that you still haven't grown up. I must admit I didn't manage to get Brandon last season however.

Well said!!! I've always had Shovlar down as a bit of a numpty, something he is living up to these last few days on this topic. But you , although you always like to present yourself as someone " a little bit superior" i always considered you as someone with intelligence. Or is your post just a mates thing?
