Seems a good idea as several of the "Poole Posters" wouldn't be able to attend if the practise was held during school hours.

Telegraph report stating that both Rathbone & Watson are expected to depart . I expect we will find out eventually

I think we already know Speedtiger by other names on this forum.

Dave Jones replied to concessionscol's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Speedway meetings are much like buses IMO. You don't see one for ages then two or three come together. -
And as the tail-lights of the last vehicle to leave the stadium carpark disappeared into the darkness after the meeting we had the announcement that it wasn't going to be a farewell after all.
-
Fair enough , I just thought from the wording that they had been sold again..
-
The missing info in the press release is who are the new owners, much more important than news of a released rider IMO

I think that if you had taken the time to follow, read fully, and digest what has been stated by the Save Coventry Group on this issue you would understand that they don't expect this to be easy. They aren't making any promises or bold statements , but anyone with common sense can see that they have their plan and they are working extremely hard to save the stadium from the developers. I'm sure they are fully aware of all the possible pitfalls yet continue to do their best to secure a future for speedway/stocks.

At least it fills the vacuum caused by the loss of the Volvo deal.

Hope Ford doesn't use any underhanded tactics this year otherwise he could find the rug pulled from beneath him.
-
No one should believe anything they're told by Mick Horton. He's a man devoid of any principles /morals.
-
Let's hope the promoter doesn't start calling himself Julius Caesar as there won't be any shortage of insiders to stab him in the back .

We are not liked due to our success, says Poole boss Ford 3 Sport 22nd October We are not liked due to our success, says Poole boss Matt Ford By Ned Payne nedpayne_echo VIEW: Pirates chief Matt Ford PIRATES boss Matt Ford believes the club is "not liked" outside of Dorset due to its bulging silverware cabinet. 3 comments Earlier this month, Poole secured their eighth top-flight league title in 16 seasons thanks to victory over King's Lynn in the SGB Premiership play-off final. Team boss Neil Middleditch has made a habit of jokingly welcoming new riders to what he terms as "the most hated club in Britain". And Ford told the Daily Echo: “I know we are not liked. I know myself and Neil are not liked but I think that to a degree it’s people who haven’t met us who don’t like us. “It’s part of being at a club when it’s successful. It’s the way it is. All I can do is build the club as we have done for the past 20 years. “From bringing in Mark Loram and Gary Havelock, securing the continued service of Lars Gunnestad and then going to another level with Magnus Zetterstrom and Tony Rickardsson. “Then it just flowed. Leigh Adams and Antonio Lindback joined, Jason Crump came, Chris Holder came, Darcy Ward came and Maciej Janowski came. “That’s the great part of the club – that we’ve never stopped trying to improve it." Well he's half right there, they are disliked but not for their success . Just the underhanded, rule abusing approach used to gain it

It won't long term , but I got the impression the speedway track would be altered now whilst the rest would only take place after the planning is sorted, whenever that might be.
-
I might have this all wrong, but as I read TR's comments the track will be re-shaped within the confines of the existing dog track . The rest of the stadium would be staying exactly as is until such time that the planning is agreed so the dogs can continue without interruption i would imagine??
-
I'm not completely sure TBH but a quick check on a routefinder states that the The Moto Park which was in Nanpean I think, is some 9 miles away from Par.???
-
Every chance it's the same location I would imagine. The Cornish Stadium was in Par, and the Eden Project has a postal address of Bodelva which is also in Par.
-
I don't think people are. They are just comparing The Aces to The Pirates.
