  1. Can't believe where I rode my bike and off road bikes back in the day ,would be hung drawn and quartered if I tried it these days
  2. fair comment , each to their own view id go the other way
  3. yeh but surely zmarzlik should be in because he is in the gps next year.give him more experience ready for next year
  4. Wouldn't it make more sense to give the wildcards to zmarzlik
  5. I'm not saying this should happen but because he's been out with a nasty injury will hampel bring much to the gps next year?just a thought
  6. I'm off up the lake district in a minute and was just checking the map up north and noticed these two places.wasn't there speedway there in the 70s.any info anyone
  7. when was roscos career,i missed a few years but cant remember seeing rosco in action
  8. would seem strange but why not, altho ive been to the last cradley meeting and the last brummies one and there seemed more at the brummie meeting
  9. i think theres more to it than that shads
  10. On the previous page someone said could Harris guest for both teams, what's the betting one day this will happen.remember we are talking speedway !
  11. The difference is all the other riders proberly tried to win it,Emil not entering is something he will surely regret in time to come
  12. Thanks Gemini I saw you on the car park at the rained off meeting the other week,I was going to come over to say hello but got sidetracked then you disappeared.proberly walking the dogs!the British weathers a nightmare
  13. great!!!!!! im in the lake district next weekend aaaaaaaggghhh
  14. putting aside the rights and wrongs does anyone think bomber has a chance
  15. At rye house on Saturday despite the rain they still came out to those magnificent men in there flying machines.at which about 8 people came strolling out talking and were about as interested in marching as the crowd was in watching
  16. In my youth I went down the same path as you,I could ride bikes so thought I'd buy a jawa as good as I could afford thinking the better the bike the better I'd be.unfortunately the bike was way better than me!after a fair bit of practice at an unofficial track ( there was a fair few in the seventies) I managed to wreck the bike and get myself a few bruises! It ended my thoughts on becoming a rider and cost a fair amount of financial trouble including wrecking my dads car! What I'm getting at is I wish I'd have attended training schools and got the hang of things first and gathered some experience and knowledge off people in the know.not sure if this is any help thought it might be useful to you
  17. Speedway season ends in farce.this could never happen! Or could it?
  18. The crowd figures at perry Barr seem lower than at monmore to me.hard to believe but I think the cradley fans got to accept that monmore was like a second home.not sure we feel the same about perry Barr.but better than nothing I suppose.I do think we have run our course in the nl but moving ups a big financial risk
  19. It might be my memory playing up but I'm sure at cradley in the 70s he's handlebars snapped in one race but he managed to finish somehow
  20. Spot on with the amount of cradley fans shads.I reckon there was about 30 of us where has the first couple of years we were back there was well into 3 figures.same at home meetings tho.no shock it was called off after 11 heats,I enjoyed what we saw but British weathers a nightmare for speedway.well done rye tho well deserved.we certainly seem to be lacking something this year
  21. Fair enough if the delays are unavoidable there's not a lot you can do
  22. I wasn't there so should not comment and riders health always come first obviously.to anyone who was there did the first meeting get run as quickly as it should have?if not then I'd say that's why fans may feel hard done to.again I wasn't there , just wondering if there was the usual as if no one had any urgency getting the meetings run
  23. I don't think the problem is that the bikes are that much quicker speed wise but I think they react quicker if that makes sense giving the riders very little time to react themselves
