Good luck to any fans wanting to get to monmore for 5, good to see Coventry in action though

I'm stuck with sky sports till Xmas cuz they offered me a good deal when I phoned up to cancel, obviously I didn't know about the speedway was going then. To save me going through previous posts what's the best deal I'm going to get through sky or BT to get BT sports. I've not got broadband with either of them but I could cancel my current provider which is talktalk

The image speedway has compared to reality are now miles apart, the dust is nowhere like it used to be and as for the noise it's like listening to lawn mowers going round. Trouble is those not in the know still think of it as noisy and dirty. I miss the noise but it's never going to return to that but unfortunately that's still the image it has

Who Were The Better Team Belle Vue Or Cradley Heath.?

I never considered Dudley Wood a difficult track to ride, I was a mere youngster back then so took no notice of the finer points of speedway. What do other heathens think? Was Dudley Wood a difficult track to ride? Ps keep posting Gustrix I agree some of your posts leave me scratching my head but the majority are interesting and informative -
I suppose sometimes you have to toe the line, I'd definitely sulk at the party though and keep mentioning I was missing the speedway to be there
-
Although people who don't follow speedway think it's a noisy dirty sport in reality it's not, the dust is nothing like it used to be and as for noise you can barely hear the bikes when there at the other end of the track

No good though if it looks professional but in reality isn't , I think that going for a kebab meal sums it up

I've no evidence of what the nl riders earn but I have been told that some of them have demands as though there GP riders, can't be right surely

Just after we got married we went to a party where during the evening I escaped through the kitchen window to go to the local pub, my wife found me discussing lifes issues with a horse in the next field. She should have had the marriage annulled then

I went to Scunthorpe for the Xmas meetings or new year proberly about 2008 time, that was cold. I think that's the only time I've ever left a meeting before the end. Our league meeting there in about 2010 came a close second though

Apologies again hodgy , I must be turning into some other forum members who take things the wrong way. Lol
-
Not sure if that was a dig hodgy but I'm not an armchair fan by any means, I miss no home meetings, very few away and take in at least a dozen pl,cl meetings , individuals including starting at the Ben fund this year. Apologies if I've misread your comments

By highlights show l mean show every race and interviews, could start at half 8 for an hour rather then 2 hours and if it catches up with the live action all well and good
-
Lifes to short to listen to family, I tend to do what I want ,take the flak knowing it will calm down after a few weeks. Lol.
-
Have to disagree, I like watching the pl darts but would always watch it on catch up which in effect turns it into a highlights package. Then again thinking about it with speedway I tend to tune in about 45 minutes after its started and watch on catch up. This is league meetings, when the gps were on sky I enjoyed watching live but that was proberly more to do with it being a Saturday night, wine and curry
-
Speedway on tv is best as a highlights package so the delays can be cut out. When it's live and there's a delay there's the temptation to switch over then not switch back
-
You know I haven't got the most exciting of lives but if one of you come into my local please don't start a conversation with me . Thanks very much
-
Thanks, I won't be bothering at that price
-
I never heard that phrase before

Phoned to cancel sky sports but they offered me such a good deal decided to tie myself in till next January just for the league speedway really although I watch darts and wrestling. Oh well there you go, no league speedway, gps or moto GP for me this year. Anyone know the cost of adding bt to sky? I wonder if BT will have an offer on to entice speedway fans, I think there was last year

Totally agree Sid I remember a friend of mine saying to me when we signed Michanek he's not really a Olsen, Mauger or Collins. I remember saying yes he is but in reality he's best days had gone. Then again I remember going to Reading and I'm sure he got a 21 point max and we lost 40-38 . Could be wrong on that though -

It was the Bernie/JB/Cribby era Sid .I always find it strange with Johnny Boulger, I've always thought of him as a bit of a Cradley legend when in reality I think he only rode for us for 3 years. Similiar with Bobby Schwartz though and I think he only did the one season -

Funny enough Sid I'm enjoying my speedway more than ever, I've obviously followed the Heathens for the past 7 years at first home and away but a couple of years ago I was getting a bit disillusioned so we started cutting back on away meetings but going to other random meetings, such as Ipswich v's Somerset , Workington, Glasgow etc and my enthusiasm came back. I've still my team to support but I've varied it up a bit. Can't wait for the new season and my visit to Swindon as well !!!! -

Funny but it was about this time I started to lose a bit of interest in speedway, it's a long time ago but I'm sure the racing wasn't as good as the mid to late 70s. I went now again in the late 80s and early 90s but only really got back into it in 1999 when I started going up monmore -
Hope Dudley council don't get involved, we would have no chance
