Twk, although I totally agree with you re the double points lifes to short to miss out on something you enjoy. I go to watch the heathens and keep no record of the score and watch prem meetings and championship meetings were neither team mean a thing to me. It's not the same as it was or even should be but I enjoy my speedway fix in a different way. The passions not there in the same way but it's still a good night out or even night away. Try it you may surprise yourself
Gave up on programs because within a very short space I can't remember the meeting anyway and having a program doesnt jog memory. So I have a burger instead
Strange really, and it might be rose tinted glasses I'm looking through but I'm sure that if it was all square after home and away legs and it went to a neutral track the neutral track fans were still interested
Like twk I hate the double points although it doesn't stop me attending. How many times though do you watch a meeting and the double points brings the scores closer and you think that's good it's a closer meeting now but I hope the team who used the tactical doesn't win. So, what's the bleeding point
I remember a horrific crash with Hans Anderson on sky and when interviewed and asked if he was continuing in the meeting he said yes I don't want to be compared to a footballer. Thought it was a brilliant reply
Did it change in the late 70s though to being free to get by the starting tapes. I used to stand by the 3rd bend for years but then remember starting to watch just before the tapes. Can't imagine I'd pay extra every week
Last June at download which I think was the 2nd weekend it poured down solid for 3 days, let's hope we have a decent summer this year
My sons just told me he's got BT free on his laptop/tablet thingy till September , is there anyway this can be linked to the tv so I can watch it on a bigger screen
