Twk, although I totally agree with you re the double points lifes to short to miss out on something you enjoy. I go to watch the heathens and keep no record of the score and watch prem meetings and championship meetings were neither team mean a thing to me. It's not the same as it was or even should be but I enjoy my speedway fix in a different way. The passions not there in the same way but it's still a good night out or even night away. Try it you may surprise yourself

Gave up on programs because within a very short space I can't remember the meeting anyway and having a program doesnt jog memory. So I have a burger instead -
If that's the average speeds what do you reckon the top speed would be at say Sheffield

Was that still the same in the 70s gustix, I'm sure I remember being interested in the golden helmet regardless who the riders were
-
Strange really, and it might be rose tinted glasses I'm looking through but I'm sure that if it was all square after home and away legs and it went to a neutral track the neutral track fans were still interested

Like twk I hate the double points although it doesn't stop me attending. How many times though do you watch a meeting and the double points brings the scores closer and you think that's good it's a closer meeting now but I hope the team who used the tactical doesn't win. So, what's the bleeding point

Anyone not with BT for anything but with sky tried to do a deal with either to get BT sports

I remember a horrific crash with Hans Anderson on sky and when interviewed and asked if he was continuing in the meeting he said yes I don't want to be compared to a footballer. Thought it was a brilliant reply -
Maybe wrong but thought I could hear bikes at monmore this afternoon
-
You know me twk, when did we meet lol

Did it change in the late 70s though to being free to get by the starting tapes. I used to stand by the 3rd bend for years but then remember starting to watch just before the tapes. Can't imagine I'd pay extra every week
-
Was there a point at Dudley Wood where you paid extra to get into the side where the starting gate was or am I imagining that

All hail Poole, that OK Gem

I'm stuck with sky sports till Xmas cuz they offered me a good deal when I phoned up to cancel, obviously I didn't know about the speedway was going then. To save me going through previous posts what's the best deal I'm going to get through sky or BT to get BT sports. I've not got broadband with either of them but I could cancel my current provider which is talktalk
