In 1972 Bernie came 9th in the European qualifier and only 8 qualified, the top 8 seem to be in the final so why was Bernie in the 16 rather than a reserve? Any ideas anyone, I've probably missed something obvious

Fans tend to forget that for a time both Bomber and Scott came very close to joining the very top riders, it can be argued both didn't quite reach the very top but they were close. The one season in the final 5 or 6 gps Bomber was right on it finishing around joint 5th I think it was , with Hancock (I think it was) lol

I'm just out of contract with sky so need to phone them soon,I got a good deal last time but talking to my eldest the weekend I found out he pays a tenner a month less than me. I've got sport as extra only on one tv and the old box. My sons got sport,movies ,box sets , hd and a few other things including multi room and the q box. Will see what deal I can get and if I can get bt sports included which I pay for at the minute with bt broadband which I'm under contract with till mid April. Barmy you have to phone up for deals but that's the way it is I suppose. Virgin cables have just been laid down our road so another option I suppose

I've said before when I moved into my house opposite a school I knew I would have cars and people in the street for about 15 minutes in a morning and afternoon but it would be quiet at other times especially weekends and evenings plus it's a newish school so very unlikely anything else will be built there in my lifetime.I would never complain to the school about it because I knew what would happen. I went to the 78 world final when if memory serves me right Ivan was the current world champ I think, I stand to be corrected tho. He had a nightmare that night falling in one race. As a youngster of 17 I was gutted. Then I realised all Ole had to do was win he's last 2 races to be champ which he did. I think Ole was still at Wolves that year so I was not happy. Stand to be corrected on any of the above due to memory and a night up the pub

I started going in 75 but still remember Ivan being very special that year, some might say he was past his best after that but didn't he win another couple of world championships after that!!!!
