Firstly the positives: Good racing for the 1st meeting of the season. Bewley, Bickley and Campton impressive, keep that up and the team will shock a few. Looking forward to watching Bewley and Bickley ride throughout the season Minimum tractor racing, continuation of racing with minimum wait. Negatives: Start time is 7pm not 7.20 Cold enough without having to stand about a further 20 min (15. RACING RULES. 15.1 The first heat at each Meeting shall commence at the stated time, except that the Referee only, may delay the start of a Meeting due to weather conditions or other 'force majeure’.) Food and drinks terrible on back straight, cups tatsed of TCP, people all around me were throwing theirs away, how can you not make a cup of tea or coffee!!Guessing there will be a lot of flasks and sandwiches next week,(lost revenue) I will be taking one for sure.

I enjoy reading mine each week, Brian Burfords piece this week was excellent. One other good thing about the Star is, I can read whats going on each week in the Speedway world without having to read all the drivell and pointless twit for tats in between threads on this forum. That is worth the price alone!

Just read about the debts ran up by the Plymouth promotion in Speedway Star £291,062.76p!!! I thought that the BSPA had a system in place to check on the financial situation of clubs.? How can a PL club run up that level of debt, With no riders debts apparen?t. A bit of Speedway Star investigation would be appreciated. I know there are legal issues with what could be printed, but surely there is a story there! How about a feature on the costs to run speedway, compete in GP's etc. Seems like a lot of money is being paid out with the reported debts to riders of Indianera etc. £77,000 etc to individual riders, what sort of deals are they on etc -not sure how many meetings they ride in Sweden in a season but thats a high figure to be owed.

Seen Barker at the British Semi Final, pretty shocked by how poor he was, he was a shadow ot his former self,

Have just had a friend on the phone telling me, he is reading various riders facebook comments and it looks like all aussie and american riders have been refused permits! Speedway is in serious truble if thats the case.

How can Holder be illegal and Sissis not, both young Aussies???

I like the way the team is being built, a out and out No 1 will only outscore another No 1 by 3 points if he beats him each time they meet. However the reserves scoring 10+ points has far more benefits. Just my opinion. Hopefully will be far enough ahead befiore Ht 15 for it to matter. Wells has the ability to be a good No 1, Plus you never know how Hansen will perform.

Never seen that one coming- rides Derwent Park well - Great signing on that average!!

Excellent read this week, highlight for me being the feature on NL rider Sam Chapman, brilliant insight into a young man trying to find his way in the sport without the family throwing money at him. Deserves a good sponsor, has his head screwed on and seems a really determined guy. Shall watch his progress with interest now. Another thing I liked was the brief but concise 'News from the British Leagues' . Informing you who had moved and been signed without all th waffle inbetween. Would like to see a page showing teams being buuil and points left. Overall ten out of ten this week. Best edition of the year for me, Looking forward to next weeks edition. Keep up the good work boys.

The guy is box office- no other thread on this forum has as many comments, thats proof in itself! Right or wrong in what he's done , the authorities are now making a laughing stock out of the sport- how long does it take to sort out his penalty. Ward may have the last laugh yet- loss of past and future earnings waiting for this to be sorted out. Really hope he has a pop at them once a decision is made. I'm not taking sides here, but the FIM are not showing themselves in a good light. On another angle, why does speedway need them anyway, they do nothing for the sport apart from take from it. The sport is small enough to break away from them, what would be the downside of this? nowt from what I can see

At least it will get watched by people who possibly don't know the sport exists. No such thing as bad publicity as they say.

What Works Well In The Pl?
ciderman replied to bigeddiechek's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The only reason darts has picked up the live audience 'it is an excuse to dress up, get your mug on the tv and most importantly get pissed' Put the players on any centre green outdoors , no beer, see how many turn up! -
Thanks, looks like it could be a long job !
