the days when Rick had bottomless pit of money do you mean ?
-
I,m not having a go at Swales or Rathbone i can't fault them trying to keep the club alive but from what I can se neither are in a position to run a speedway club I,m being realistic here how are they going to pay riders for instant pay rent on the Showground if they can't make up the difference to get to the 40k mark . Last thing I want is to see the club fold or any club come to that but we don't want another Birmingham situation where a club can't complete a season .
-
I,m sorry if they can't cover the 7k they are in no position to run a speedway club this is hopeless situation for the club when it's promoters again get the begging bowl out cus they can't raise 7K . Hate to be the voice of doom and gloom .
-
more importantly where is Swales and Rathbone commitment to the club surely if they are 10k short they put 5k in each before the AGM they are then involved in the AGM rather than being bared they can send a message out loud and clear to sponsors we are committed to running in 2015 also other teams have a 14 day head start on team building to my mind they have made a very big mistake not putting the rest of the cash in there selfs -what commitment to the club does this send out to all the fans who have raised 30k ?
-
as long as everyone who has contributed has gone into this knowing what could happen that's fine I guess but can see the club being in the same position this time next year .
-
thought it was children in need today not Panthers in need Swales and Rathbone has taken the speedway begging bowl to a whole new level on this one .
-
I agree Swales has been at the club a very long time and has seen the good times and now the bad and you are spot on in what you are saying .If Swales and Rothbone really want the club to continue and they are by what's been reported 10k short I make it 5k each to make up the short fall that's the least they can do when fans have put the rest of the cash up .
-
firstly I don't want to see any club close least of all Pboro but I do wonder the logic of fans donating money to the club in the way they have as you say I've not seen anywhere that Swales and Rathbone have put there hand in there pocket plus other than hopefully a change of race night what has changed ? If they do run I'd guess the club will have to run on a greatly reduced budget so mid table or lower could be the best the Panthers can hope for but will the fans turn up in enough numbers to make it viable ? Plus those who have handed money over will I guess still be paying to watch speedway at Pboro ie paying twice . if Swales and Rathbone are going to promote the club surely they have to put money into the club ? Just hope for those who have handed money over it doesn't go ** up mid season and Swales and Rathbone walk I really do .

when Kings Lynn dropped into the PL the club had been run down by Waggy and was in a mess Stadium owner Buster Chapman ran the club it took him a few seasons to build the club back up in the PL it was a choice of PL or no speedway and he built a side than won the PL twice got the club back onto a sound footing the point I,m making is surely club stability is more important than short time success for the Panthers yes I no we all want to win trophies but build the club up first .
-
two points firstly buying a season ticket - really don't see how that helps that much other than the fact the club got the money up front you will I guess get to see the meetings at a lower admission rate on a season ticket than paying on race night . Secondly unless the Panthers get a big sponsorship deal on board the club will have to be very careful who they sign as won't want to go over budget or they end up in the same situation as they are now this time next year - so wich would you rather see a stable club mid table and no money worries or go with a strong team maybe make the play offs but the begging bolws out again this time next year . Surly it's time to get the club finances stable and build on that year on year .
-
If the 40k is just for one season will the fans have to dip there hands in there pockets again this time next year ? The same fans handing over there hard earned cash will I guess still be paying admission money to watch there racing at the Showgound will in fact be paying twice -Also it's all well and good raising this money but not wishing to be a killjoy but really what has changed ? the problem of costs out weighing admission monies and sponsorship will that change ? If the Panthers track a weakened side whilst trying to live within the clubs means will fans turn out to watch a mid tabled team ? Just a few points . I wish the Panthers well as don't want any club to close .

As per normal the one rider everyone is talking about is the one rider that is pure box office not the new World Champoin but legend that is Nicki Pedersen . Nicki was mugged last night of 1st place on the night and it could have cost him a bronze medal - I was lucky enough to be in the stadium last night and Nicki did nothing wrong he was ex by reputation only and the reaction of the Polish crowd how could the ref ex KK ? -
I attended 2 meetings this season at Pboro that's the least amount of times I've attended Pboro in 35 years main reasons was the drop from the EL and Tuesday night speedway had the Panthers stayed in the EL whatever night they raced I would have attended more than 2 meetings .
-
the biggest problems at Pboro other than Horton is who ever runs Pboro is Pboro has always been a Friday night track and it should to revert back to that night .

How things have changed in 12 months - if PL was to be a success at Pboro a winning team was needed - though most teams that drop down find the first year tough - build towards 2015 things can only get better though with the promoter the Panthers have that could be a tall order . -

no roof is a major disadvantage - as for the number of seats Copenhagen isn't a speedway area and there is two SGP in Denmark this year next year as I understand it there will only be one in DK so I think tickets will sell very fast . -

we had a look at the Cassa Arena two weeks ago when we was in Denmark for the Holsted Euro round Horsens seems a good place also the Arena seems compact will be interesting how big the track will be under 300 m ?id say tickets will be like gold dust also as I guess some seats will be lost at the front . Also handy for getting a cheap flight as bang smack between to Airports Arhus and Billund airports . like I said you won't have far to travel -

must admit I heard many moaning Panthers fans on the the way back to the car park last night some saying the Panthers wouldn't win another home meeting this season with the current line up . I thought the racing was great and I agree £20 is a bargin for a double header . Just question two meetings can be completed by 10 pm
-
Made my second visit of the season last night and a great night of racing I thought Witches was by far the better team on the night -for Panthers Hall and Digler was poor on this form can't see the Panthers reaching the play offs - on a different note why did the ref Mrs Horley allow this meeting to be run without a white line ? Has Horton run out of chalk ? . Also with double headers coming up how does the promotion expect to run 2 meetings before the 10pm curfew is a 6-30 start a possibility ?how does the promotion expect fans to afford all these meetings in a short space of time . And nearer the point can the promotion afford double headers ?

you seem to forget Darcy first UK Club was Kings Lynn maybe if he'd stayed he wouldn't now have these problems who knows but as things have turned out it was the best bit of business the Chapman have done off loading him to Poole .
-
Like every drink driver no excuses - fact is had he rode he would have endangered the other 15 riders - end result like a drink driver a ban . The sport is dangerous enough without actions like this . All I will add every GP every rider should be breath tested at every GP .
