It’s always a bargain basement team I have to agree BUT it’s better than the club breaking the bank win the play off final and at the end of the year can’t pay the riders and go bankrupt. Others have come and gone at Lynn but one thing you can’t take way from Buster we’ve had a stable club over the years and some credit must be given for that .
-
True - guess time will tell
-
With Stars v Leicester on Eurosport on Monday I wonder if the stock pit gate will play up again or the stadium get electrical problems or a dodgy weather forecast- as we all no Buster don’t like Tv meetings .
-
I’ve thought for a while Ulrich farewell meeting on the 2nd July could be a farewell to the Showground meeting as well and Panthers to finish their home meetings at KL .
-
Never said we would return to Saturday racing it’s not possible the move away from Saturday was mainly because of the GPs - I was just saying Saturday did create bigger crowds especially visiting fans and also children on a school night as a kid I’d never been allowed to go to speedway with school the next day so there is a number of reasons crowds have dwindled over the years not just the more obvious ones .
-
Will say this back in the 70s especially some team only visited once in a season Belle Vue prime example as both Lynn and Belle Vue at that time was Saturday night speedway so when Belle Vue visited it was go that night or wait till the following season now when Belle Vue or any other PL club you oh well go next time . And Saturday night speedway you got visiting fans sometimes even a coach now mid week racing that doesn’t happen. Of course bigger crowds better atmosphere obviously but won’t happen now sadly

Totally agree thinking back to the 80s points limit was 50or 52 ? now the limit isn’t even a win 46 that’s how much speedway year on year has been run into the ground - sky sports money was wasted and what I see as what could have been the great relaunch was after the covid season that was the last chance saloon and what they do carry on as before . Buster might have his faults but as Bagpuss has said he saved KL not just the once but several times if he wasn’t around now after Brady walked out what would happen now ??
-
At the moment- as I said on the Lynn thread I’m sure Simon Lambert will soon be involved in Lynn or Pboro most likely Lynn
-
Yes he’s now two clubs to bankroll instead of one
-
I would say that’s a given a 10pm finish more time for punters to buy his burgers and pint he’s every incentive to string meetings out .
-
That might well be the case but the team is over budget so one easy way to get it back on budget
-
He does he’s financially responsible for two clubs now this is not good for either club
-
I think you are correct the foundations are being laid for a worse team think that’s obvious- it’s not that simple just packing up for the season wouldn’t the club lose it bond money and probably the licence . Won’t be long before the use it or lose it cry goes out - this now also has a knock on effect to Pboro as well Buster responsible financially for both clubs . As for 2024 got get through this season first .
-
Think it’s get this season over and done with and regroup in the winter other than finishing ahead of Pboro in the league other than pride little to race for sadly .
-
I’m not for one moment saying he did I’m not having a go
-
Well I think Laguta leaving is a dead cert if Buster won’t fund Tungate at Pboro he ain’t going to pay for Laguta - guess the difference is Laguta is already at the club where as Tungate isn’t at Pboro time will tell . For whatever reasons Alex decided to quit the club and I’m sure they was very real reasons he has left the club in somewhat turmoil and Buster is there as club owner to pick up the pieces does seem a bit harsh to just walk away and let Buster sort the mess out .
-
There is a surprise lol i didn’t see that coming - Laguta in for the chop is my guess and I still think Simon Lambert will be in the team
-
Well as much as rivals both clubs are to each other I think what has to happen is what’s best for both club’s survival or there will be no rivalry if one or even both close . Even the tone on this forum has changed both sets of posters from each club seem to have a common goal which is a definite positive.
-
I’d be surprised if there any press release on the future of the club for a few days to honest - there must be a lot to sort out getting to the seasons end must be priority and restoring a bit of pride if we finish ahead of Pboro in the league table guess that’s something then sort things out in the closed season .
-
That’s the question all KL fans want to no - Allit is apparently in hospital Buster on holiday back tomorrow - both KL and Pboro are in a total mess - big question over the future of both clubs now I think - if Buster is now funding Lynn can’t see him paying Laguta wages when he won’t fund Tungate at Pboro . Really is a total mess at both clubs sadly
-
I definitely like the idea of Jonathan taking control - but what’s happened isn’t good for future of KL Speedway .
-
Well you go to bed and get up put this forum on and just what had happened ? So who’s promoting now Alitt I guess recently a press release said Buster not financially involved - who’s paying Laguta wages ? think we shall soon find out hopefully it’s not the last we see of Laguta but can’t see Buster paying his wages . Some reports Jacobsen has quit as well so what is going on ? cue Simon Lambert in Jacobsen place it be a very different team if Buster paying the wage bill
-
Why wait till then ? Ditch Allit asap and finish the season with Alex and Rob
-
Rob Lyon’s got the job then ?
