  1. Couldn’t be in a any bigger mess than it is now I’d have thought
  2. Hopefully they are listening and early indications say there are and definitely some fans won’t attend unless it’s a dry settled evening guess it’s a case been mugged too many times .
  3. The clubs text messaging service still in operation just had a text to say meeting postponed
  4. What’s the point in looking at stadiums that’s long since gone ? Can say the same about many many more clubs . It’s the total lack of forward thinking dating all the way back to the 1970s in those days 13 heats and a second half was enough times have changed speedway hasn’t that’s one problem- another in the glory years promotions should have invested in the future 80cc for instance the Danes Swedes and Poles have all done this what have we done ? For me though one of the biggest reason for the decline of Speedway in the UK is the loss of weekend fixtures especially in the top league - an away fixture on a Saturday has much more appeal than even a home fixture on a Wednesday.
  5. Trees is the most blinkered speedway fan I no of lol never criticises the promotion and on delicate sudjects sits on the fence . As you say would make a great promoter or even politician
  6. It’s like anything in life it all stems from the top and works it way down to the bottom- if the BSPA to promoters enthusiasm is low the fans enthusiasm is low - we think just 15 heats is enough to attract fans which it clearly isn’t - it the whole race night experience that’s poor - also the Poles have weekends as there race days that makes a lot of difference to a Wednesday night the Poles also run a slick meeting 2 hours done and dusted we could learn so much but again we fail to to do so .
  7. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday think that more or less rules us out of attending that’s unless they have it wrong still time for weather to change hopefully.
  8. Sounds like Horton selling off the family silver.
  9. All clubs have the same chance to sign riders as any other clubs if they chose not to do so for whatever reason that’s up to them it’s not Poole fault that rider want to ride for them surely? ask any young footballers that doesn’t want to play for Man United for instance. I’m perhaps missing something but are Poole really that much stronger than the rest of the league ? as for someone saying they could do an Ipswich what they did in 98 I’d be amazed if they did - yes Poole have a good side as they do most years I’d expect nothing less .
  10. All helps to get a bigger than average crowd when Batchelor visits with Swindon so well done Troy on that one .
  11. Don’t you criticise the club or even say they did the right thing -none critical reply won’t want to upset the club I guess .
  12. Had it been on last night I’m one that definitely wouldn’t have turned up - the weather has to be 100% for me not being mugged again by speedway promotions
  13. Either way the club made a wise decision calling it off when they did in my opinion. Lets look forward to next week now and get some better weather and get our home season under way with a win .
  14. The even bigger fiasco is to have a repeat of meltdown Thursday and basically that’s the scenario we could have tonight - with many fans saying they will not go to meetings if there is any possibility of rain after being mugged in the past the attendance would definitely be down tonight - I was happy and still am happy that they made an early decision it’s better to call off as we have this time than get fans in the stadium on a wet night and then call it off all that does is pee everyone off .
  15. I thank the club for making an early decision on Wednesday I’d have thought that was probably positive? though I’d sooner the sun was shinning and the meeting was on probably another positive? Anyway this Wednesday is off let’s look forward to week Wednesday when hopefully we shall have much better weather and have a great opening meeting.
  16. Yea I’m feeling the same with some of your comments zzzzz
  17. Well that isn’t what we all wanted to hear but it’s far better to call off now than having a repeat of problems of the past - so we’ll done for making a early decision.
  18. Well I’m pleased to no others have to same thoughts about Wednesday night hopefully the weather will improve and the meeting will be on in good conditions on a dry night - not sure what your problem is Trees obviously you have nothing better to do than travel to Kings Lynn for nothing or watch a meeting in poor conditions- all I’m saying been see it and got the t- shirt the days of traveling and getting no meeting or a poor meeting in poor conditions are gone for me for £18 it needs have everything in place for a good nights entertainment admittedly that’s doesnt always follow but if there is any chance conditions or forecast rain for the night I won’t be attending . Sorry if that’s not what you want to hear .
  19. Any prospects of rain that will count me out - not prepared to stand around waiting for the track to be bladed either - if in any doubt about the weather we won’t be attending.
  20. Where did it go wrong ? Do you mean Lee or speedway in general? Michael made his choices as we all do in life if they are right or wrong that’s Micheal to decide - as for speedway in general the powers that be pocketed the glory years £s rather than thinking long term in finding the next Michael Lee - thinking back in those 40odd years we’ve had Darcy Ward and to a lot lesser extent Robert Lambert but neither have come close to Lee talent he should and could have gone much further in speedway thing to remember is the British League was the strongest league in the world in Lee day Ward rode for us in the second league and Lambert is again in a very much weaker leage . Lee was special very special
  21. Thank you for comfiming that time plays tricks on your mind but I just knew he beat Wilson 3 times admittedly Wilson was on decline at that time but even so that was a special meeting one that I’ve never forgotten over the years one question how many of today’s meetings will be remembered 40 odd years later ? my guess not many Another special night was at Coventry when on Wednesday night with a full stadium Michael won the British Final again I was there .
  22. I was there that day as well I seem to remember Micheal whipped the then England captain Ray Wilson 3 times - that morning as I’m sure it was a 11am start we all knew we’d something very special In Lee - seem to remember overnight snow and it being freezing cold but the meeting went ahead . And yes I feel old too
  23. Absolutely good luck to Robert can’t fault him but we should be under no illusion we are bottom of the pile if that’s negative so be it I call it living in the real world .
