  1. And so far I have - I must be the only one that wants to attract the next generation of fans because without our them there will be no speedway. I’d be bending over backwards to attract families but I must have it wrong . As some will no I’m a big cricket fan Notts have a family day on the next Bank Holiday weekend on the Sunday £1 admission for everyone- granted not everyone cup of tea but what a great idea the ground will be full and hopefully the kids will want to get mum and dad to bring them again - that’s a forward thinking sport trying to secure the next generation of fans .
  2. Absolutely spot on - thing also to remember in the days you talk of we raced Saturday nights so the urgency to basically get on with the meeting wasn’t so important as it is now on a Wednesday- I’ve no doubt when I first started going to Kings Lynn as an 11 year old boy had we raced Wednesday as we do now my mum and dad would have never took me to Kings Lynn as they would have said you’ve school the next day - to me that’s why a 7-30 start and I mean first race 7-30 would help to attract more families and without those kids we won’t have a future fan base - I don’t get why the promotion is so blind to see that .
  3. If it was a 3pm start would have made the journey for this one being a Bank Holiday missed opertunity I feel to get a bumper crowd.
  4. I’m awear of that the point I’m making if they started 7-30 by that I mean 1st race -it would be more appealing to families with kids with school the next day .
  5. I didn’t go last night either - one point I’d like to make I get notifications via Twitter on Poole meetings they was away at Somerset they start at 7.30 I’d had the result of heat 4 before I had the result of heat 1 at KL that’s the difference 30 minutes earlier start time makes that can also be the difference between families attending or not - and yes I saw KL had an interval as well again 7.30 start not such a problem but a near on 8pm start then have an interval makes a lot of difference. Big well done to the Stars last night on another win .
  6. Thursday nights should definitely be our race night or if we have to race Wednesdays sign no Danish riders .
  7. Count me out as well was looking forward to this one with the return of Batch but definitely won’t be going anywhere near this one 2nd home meeting in 3 riders missing what a total farce yet again - talks of a wet day Monday expect a call off Tuesday lunchtime .
  8. At the moment track covers needed for every meeting as the weather is - also would help to keep tv meetings on - obviously if it rains at start time covers wouldn’t help . Never mind track covers will never happen as tv cash has been spent on other things
  9. Much the same was said about an air fence I seem to remember we had the Oxford air fence the club wanted helpers to put the fence up and down not many if any fans came forward to help so the fence wasn’t used the fence sat there not being used while riders crashed into the stock car fence John Oliver being one who had a very serious injury - air fences became compulsory so we had to get one and use it - track covers should be the same make them compulsory at least for the top league .
  10. So we can’t fit in 14 fixtures? Going back to the days when we ran on Saturday nights with a meeting every week from March to October we had no problem- if we can’t fit in 14 meetings this sport really is doomed - right call last night 100% though we’d already made our minds up not to attend before the call off as weather not settled enough the weather needs to be dry with no chance of rain for us to attend.
  11. What has that got to do with anything ? If the promotion was willing to buy and use track cover they would be used sadly they are not willing - they along with all others have had tv money and used it on other things there choice so we put up with rain offs not a problem .
  12. Spot on - fans are fed up with being mugged
  13. Had already made my mind up before the call off not to attend . And yes I’ve just had the text as well from the club
  14. Poland pay more could have a lot to do with it and I doubt he’d fancy riding his first UK meeting at KL
  15. Don’t worry we won’t be plenty in the pipeline here
  16. If your waiting for me to comment on last night meeting you will have a very long waite as I wasn’t even there so I cant comment on the meeting other than I’m pleased everyone had a fantastic evening and the Stars won . Me I enjoyed watching the IPL on tv and having a beer in the sunshine on the patio and also I saved £60 by staying home .
  17. Did anyone really think there wouldn’t be a problem with only home riders doing hot laps ? It’s totally unfair on the visiting team .
  18. A few other things are missing JC and Mike Bennett and the enthusiasm of Rob Lyon and Buster all have never been replaced . To me the last two or tree seasons we’ve just gone through the motions get to the end of the season ASAP .Its almost speedway gets in the way of the real money spinner stock cars .
  19. As I said great idea in principle hot laps but has to be open for both teams if not totally unfair on the away side but would definitely add the VFM if all 14 riders are involved.
  20. We shall see on Wednesday but I can see Mark Lemon the Aces team manager protesting and quite rightly. Unless it’s open to the visiting team hot laps won’t last very long .
  21. Before the meeting from 7pm -after the meeting there would be no problem with apart from they’d be doing hot laps to an empty stadium.
  22. In principle it’s a great idea I’m not knocking in the slightest has to be open to visiting riders though as it totally unfair advantage to the home side and as I said earlier can see certain riders in the Stars side wanting payment or opting out .
