  1. The thing that concerns me about the vaccine as of yet (and fingers crossed this will change ) those who’s already had the vaccine can’t go back to normal life they’ve not even been told you don’t need a face mask they don’t no yet if those who’s been vaccinated can still pass the virus on - unless that changes it’s not going to get any sports fans back into any stadiums anytime soon sadly . Don’t get me wrong fantastic we’ve a vaccine but so many uncertainties surrounded it yet .
  2. Can anyone of us say we will be attending meetings at this point in time ? who even knows when the season will start yes they say May but that’s by no means certain- in my case circumstances have changed and I have much more time on my hands so definitely more likely to attend meetings.
  3. Really ? 4 years out of the sport is a massive amount of time he WAS a rider with great talent I’m not doubting that but I stick with what I said to give a team spot to him over a young British rider is absolute madness in my opinion . we’ve a massive opportunity to showcase British talent let’s do it and do it now .
  4. Personally I’d have thought giving young British riders a chance would be far better for the longer term future of British speedway than giving has beens a team spot .
  5. The alleged new stadium won’t happen now I’d have thought wasn’t it going stage a round of WU21 a few season ago ? and why with houses surrounding the existing stadium would you build in the car park ? That said it’s a very sad day for the sport sadly I feel others will follow Swindon with everything so uncertain how can any club plan for the season ahead how can riders plan ? by not running in 2021 there is certainty .
  6. Definitely don’t blame him he’s got to do what’s right for him to maximise earnings and home life and of course his speedway career- as for racing in the Uk there is so much uncertainty regarding COVID restrictions personally I can’t see league racing starting here until possibly July 1st as we can’t run without crowds - sadly speedway in the UK was on its knees before COVID - COVID has just made matters worse
  7. You really do need to dump those rose tinted glasses - Torun Is a great stadium Gdańsk is a dump compared to Torun - as for walking to the stadium Gorzow is in the city/town and they race mainly at the weekends which very different from saddle Bow Road it is out of town and race on a weekday so finish work chase to the Tuesday market place walk to the stadium from there watch the meeting then go pick your car up from Tuesday market place arrive home 1-30 am ?? Yea people of Kings Lynn don’t care enough.
  8. I wasn’t having a pop at Belle Vue in the slightest the point I was making with a great race track like you have you should be getting much bigger crowds but if you can’t get bigger crowds what chance does others have ?as you say you have many other sporting events as well
  9. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many Polish tracks it’s a completely different experience to here the atmosphere for one which is 100% better and exciting than here Zielona Gora has to be the best I’ve experienced for that the tracks are normally well prepared and the racing is normally good as well it’s totally a different world from here in the UK
  10. Totally agree about the track it’s rubbish to what it used to be follow the leader tracks won’t get fans back or attract new ones but as I say it’s a stock car stadium that just so happen to stage the odd speedway meeting and that’s what earns the stadium and Buster money so who am I to criticise? Can’t fault him . But as you say about Belle Vue poor attendance figures there won’t get Buster to alter the KL track .
  11. And having worked with people from Poland most who come to this country only have one thing in mind work work and more work and earn as much as possible- going to speedway isn’t a top priority.
  12. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many stadiums in Poland over the years as you say our stadiums are dated in some cases very dated - while Buster has worked wonders on the kings Lynn stadium with out doubt the way I look at it is the stadiums in Poland are for speedway only here it’s very different KL is a stock car stadium that just happens to run speedway others are dog stadiums- if we want to attract bigger crowds first thing promoters need to do is promote the sport and try to attract new fans the die hards are getting fewer and fewer as in my case was totally fed up by being taken for granted that I will turn up each week . 2021 is a massive season for the sport without doubt the question I’d be asking if I was a promoter is has my fan base found other things to do ? as in my case once you get out of the habit of going it’s hard to get it back .
  13. Definitely need to bring back the World Cup and run it every other season .
  14. I can remember on the following afternoon Saturday -highlights was shown on ITVs World of Sport can also remember Dickie Davies saying at the end of the coverage get yourself along to Kings Lynn tonight to as Kings Lynn take on Hackney in the BL go welcome home the world champion Lee and world no 2 Jessup that has to be the best free advert kings Lynn ever had . Also I seem to remember those Lynn fans who was in Sweden for the final Couldn’t get back to Lynn in time for the Saturday night at Lynn meeting there was a lot of unhappy fans about that . That night saddle Bow Road was packed .
  15. We have a great deal as well £29.99 for broadband BT Sports free via the sky box and we pay £6.99 for HD that’s on a 18month contract if we was happy with SD it be free . It’s the second time we’ve had this deal as long as renewed before contract expires.
  16. It still up in the air id say - things change rapidly here in the UK and Europe I’d be very cautious booking flights at the moment or none refundable hotels .
  17. Going by that I think he’s no alternative but to call it off sadly
  18. Some riders will never return also - some must have taken alternative work this season .
  19. I still think speedway season starting is little more than 50/50 mainly because of costs and riders being available and the age group of the majority of fans if they will turn up it’s a big gamble - stock cars isn’t such a gamble
  20. Stock car racing returns 1st Aug with limited crowd - will this open the way for speedway to return ?
  21. Speedway at KL is secondary to Stock Cars without doubt - the concerns I have regarding speedway is the age group mainly 50+ will that age group turn up ? As that’s the majority age group and most vulnerable to the virus.
  22. My guess top priority at KL is getting the stock cars up and running he must have lost a small fortune on that front .
  23. True - it was just an idea - I then think it’s a big financial risk for any club to start the season with possibly many staying away -though could it have the opposite effect If it was to start In August 11months since last season ended could it get big crowds - who’d be a speedway promoter ? Difficult decisions lie ahead .
  24. If and it’s still a big if the season gets under way in August with social distancing the concerns I’d have is with the age group of speedway fans ie many 50 and older how many of this group will actually turn up for meetings ? It’s a massive gamble to start the season I think unless this group turn up each week - the conclusion I’ve come to is why not for this season only live stream meetings for say £9.99 a meeting those who feel safe to go pay as normal at the gate and those who don’t feel they are able to attend watch on the live stream this way the club wouldn’t lose revenue.
