King’s Lynn v Sheffield 01/06/23
Haza replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The main thing that needs solving is the track surface and material used . KL has gone from a great race track to a gate and go track .we watched on tv last night and saw nothing that would make me want to return to the terraces . -

The question now were do KL go with this team ? bare minimum need to win most of your home meetings but to lose like they did tonight without much of a fight . As I’ve always said don’t mind losing as long as it’s a good meeting . -

Yes a solid debut I agree - he’d learn a lot from tonight and that should help him in the next meeting -
I’d be concerned about the crowd as well I’d guess several turned up because of Laguta on debut tonight but after losing like they did some won’t return sadly .

I thought Laguta did well on debut - im sure he’s never ridden a track like KL before that I mean the track surface- KL track used to be a fantastic race track now it’s just gate and go as others have said it’s mainly down to the material used for stock cars so got no chance of proper shale being used . If you can’t gate 9 times out 10 you not going to win a race - but the track is far to grippy - looks like no track grading either - the track is terrible -

Basically prepare at track that the opponents like this is what you get - kings Lynn beaten out the starts in every heat . -

Watching on the stream I’d say the most disappointing thing so far is the state of the track whatever has happened to it ? Can only hope the track comes good as the meeting progresses -

Wonder if the money not coming in for Pedersen wages was the real reason he left the club as he did and was it MT way of pay back for not being allowed to sign Chris Holder ? Really can’t see this ending well for Pboro speedway from what I can see a potential new owner and current owner are at logger heads and MT sponsorship money not been paid it’s as if he wants to bankrupt the club rather than bankroll it and pick it up on the cheap from Buster when they can’t pay the riders . It’s a sad state of affairs that the future of the club is on the line and being decided by two stubborn men who won’t give in .

Well in my world if I was off work sick and I decided to go on holiday think my boss and my work colleagues would have something to say about it on my return if I was posting on social media while on holiday

If Laguta does end up at KL I’d definitely not be happy if I was a Panthers fan as they been told no one is available then Laguta ends up at the club owners other track - really doesn’t sit well if it was the other way round Lynn fans would be into meltdown.

Had conversation with Davey Watt a few years ago in a bar in Poland the night before a GP - he was a Poole rider at the time I asked him if he’d ever comeback and ride for KL he said no as Buster pay rate is rubbish he added how Iversen rides at Lynn on Busters rates he didn’t no as was poor money - so going by that I’d say it be unlikely the club would shell out big money for Laguta - Lambert was on 5k a meeting at Belle Vue end of last season (that’s real reason he didn’t ride in the last meeting at KL after the play off final BV wasn’t going to shell out another 5k on a nothing on it meeting )Dudek wanted similar this season neither are in the Uk - Laguta might well be cheaper as trying to make up for a lost season but even 3-4K a meeting can we really see Buster paying that ?

Sadly pulling the plug early is something that wouldn’t surprise me especially if attendances drop if the numbers don’t add up - an un competitive team little opportunity or will to strengthen what is the point ? whatever happens it’s a very sad end to Peterborough at the Showground the fans deserve so much better .

Well Pboro certainly been more successful in the top league than Kings Lynn have with 0 titles to there name - personally I think both clubs need a new start under different promotions-Buster owning both clubs has done neither clubs any favours both have suffered at the others expense and even the rivalry has gone out of it now . Both clubs could be so good for each other .

KL really did have a great opportunity this season to build a strong team with Jakobsen starting on seemingly low starting average ( any team in the league would have had him ) it’s an opportunity that only comes around once in a blue moon similar as to when we signed Darcy Ward in the old PL - in those days we took advantage and won the old PL but sadly in 2023 the advantage wasn’t taken when we signed KK and kept Allit’s mates rather than being tough we was weak in team building and the advantage of Jakobsen average was lost .These golden opportunities don’t come around very often this might be the last such opportunity that comes our way .

Don’t forget Simon Lambert is on speed dial on Alitt phone to be ready to ride for either club . But totally agree with all you posted .
