  1. I see they're planning on replacing the missing fans with guests from Sheffield. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
  2. Good job Sheffield's guest only scored 6. An equivalent Simon Stead Score and it really would have been a massacre. The score doesn't reflect some great racing last night though. Give us racing like that every week and there will be few compaints regardless of how many guests the opposition have.
  3. And if a sheep is born in a Stable, does that make it a horse?
  4. . I kind of get it. I think having a rider at 5 who can gate is an advantage when they're paired with a reserve three times. The risk with Bellego is that he gets caught up in traffic.
  5. Here's a few crying pussy cats 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
  6. Love all these rumours. "How much they paying you Arthur?" "Three and six a point Bruce" "Three and six? That's more than they were paying me!" And someone overhears and it's gospel. I dont think the promotion is stupid enough to pay a newby more than a number one. But even if they were, consider this: if he's no good, then not many points multiplied by lots a point ( I call this the Covatti principal) means he ain't cost a lot. If he's as good as they say then you've got another number one, you take the pain and sell him to Poole for £40k. Bingo!
  7. To be fair Mr Rag, or can I call you Oily? Machin couldn't be arsed to have a firework display last year
  8. The track was slicker than usual but it didn't stop Ipswich nor did it stop Steady. What really killed Sheffield was the lack of points from Compton's rides. As for Covattii being crap SCB, he's no worse than Proctor who was no worse than Roynon. Give him a chance! And your comment re the manager is laughable given the clowns we had last season and the season before. Is there time to make more team changes before the deadline? I'd make at least 2. BUT I'll still be taking Stan Junior next week. Still glad it's still going. Can't wait for next season!
  9. The Paramedics surely have to do whats best for the rider. If they just shove em in the back of an ambulance to clear the track then I'm sure "supporters" like GPR would be delighted. The fact that we'd end with far more serious long term injuries to riders or worse is just by the by. One has to wonder - was this a considered post or one made after another night on the pop? I for one was more concerned for Liam than "getting on with it" just as I was for Andre and Josh recently.
  10. Thought it was a polyfoam fence at Berwick? Also thought they had a strict curfew! Agree bad management on 14 though
  11. He only rode 9 matches against fast tracks. His average is primarily 2013 meetings. Why would it be a financial nightmare?? Think he's probably already had one of those!
  12. Covatti rode at Sheffield for Birmingham last season. Andre Leigh and Josh are still out. bellego in for Lanham Sargeant in got Bates and RR for Andre so Poole gets 7 rides. Better have a number 8 just in case!
  13. There's a couple of tracks doing this. Good call. As for Argentinian Champions and second placers, didn't Lee Complin and Kyle Legault compete in the Argentinian Championships too? I think they did quite well and finished first and second. Not sure which way round though.
  14. What a great signing! Didn't see that one coming! Welcome Nico!!
  15. With such a top heavy team, I'm not so sure Fisher was missed. 9 points from his rides was probably about what he'd have got. I'm surprised there was no guest if the management held the same view that RR wasn't going to be adequate after he redeclaration was blocked. Any update on that?
  16. I agree SKJ and I'd keep em all. I think Nielsen was under pressure but his form in recent weeks has been better ALTHOUGH I have rarely seen a rider pick up more lucky points where others have either stopped or fallen. It's probably because he never gives up though and he's aggressive. Exactly the sort of rider I like. Anyway, who's available if a change were to be made?
  17. Equally dodgy, but then the super guest more than made up for it.
  18. Classic Football referee solution to having given a dodgy decision:- give a dodgy one the other way. Excluding Lanham gifted Rye a 5-1.
  19. Not like he struggled last night. A good score against tough opposition. Legal or not it stinks Berwick.
  20. you're having a laugh! Three of those words are key. AT HIS BEST. We rarely saw his best and to prefer Facu over Lanham or Poole is laughable. Also Given Facus average is only something like 3 and as far as I know he cant speak English or drive, why would you go to all the trouble of finding him a home a van a driver a mechanic an interpreter etc etc for a gamble that hes better than Nielsen. I'll take the 50p bet.
  21. From a neutrals perspective, I felt short changed. I believe the rule in the book is that after Heat 10 in an official Team fixture, only the Team that is losing may request a track inspection, or seek abandonment of the Meeting. If this is the case why was it called off if Belle Vie wanted it to carry on? Apologies if this has been covered. I am just a little confused!
  22. Just had a look.. Rule 16.5.3 "No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a redeclaration, has not made an appearance for that team since being redeclared." I think its the same rule that Caused the problem for at Sheffield at Berwick. It seems bonkers when there is no attempt to gain an advantage through a rider not riding and it is out of their hands. Could Scunny redeclare with Their previous team and have a guest for Mellgren or will they fall foul of having declared their team already? Suspect if the rules are applied to the letter we'll be seeing a NL guest. It would make it easier for the Tigers but not what I'd want to see.
  23. Thankfully the Hoo Ha of the last couple of weeks has passed and we can look forward to the first Premier League meeting with what looks like decent weather! With Ty Proctor making his debut finally, Sheffield should be stronger than they were when the Scorpions were last in town and keen for revenge for the LC home defeat. Scunny look like being without Klindt as he's deputising for Kenneth Bjerre in the Danish Championships on Thursday. With Auty and Birks in the team Scunny are always going to be a handful and with Klindt out and every rider entitled to an RR ride we could see them both have 6 rides. Scunny are slightly weaker at reserve with Douglas now in the team, but so are Sheffield with Compron now in the team. The Tigers, for me, were beaten before they started last time as they seemed to be worried by the track. Hopefully witn decent conditions things will be different. Tigers by 10
  24. Surely the reason the big events are held where they are is to ensure maximum crowd levels. If British semis were held at EL tracks would EL fans converge to see those PL riders they dont get to see every week? Er maybe not. Would EL fans rush to see second division pairs 4s or riders championships. NO. The U21 s is at Cradley for the same reason. How often is there an unexpected home win?
