  1. I think you've missed their point a little Dick, their irk is with the way it has been done without consultation or reference to the effect on the IOW. Barry has said on more than one occasion if there had been some discussion their may have been room for compromise or negotiation.
  2. Arne Pander in 1968 and R/R for him a fair bit of the time, Danny tried Gotfried Andersson but I believe finished up running Johnny Poyser, Pete Seaton, Mick Bell and Ted Spittles over many meetings.
  3. Which in turn keeps the sponsors on side
  4. Er .. it's not an issue planning is recommended subject to a list of conditions which includes an accoustic barrier, these are conditions for the applicant and of the 5 letters submitted you can bet your bottom dollar that some if not all are the same fo;k who have perpetually complained and opposed planning for Speedway since the outset. Unless the Brummies are in breach of consent I fail to see what needs to be done bearing in mind that the Government are hoping to pass anti Nimby legislation in the future.
  5. The charge is the same as everyone else, you really can be a crock without the r at times.
  6. and your nearest track for local derbies will be Poole!
  7. Jon Cook has been sniffing around Oxford for some time now and still hasn't been able to crack it.
  8. Sportsmanlike? Sportsmanship? There hasn't been anything Sporting about British Speedway for a very long time. Lying, cheating, devious, dishonest, crooked, bent and every spin on those words that are in Roget's Thesaurus are more apt descriptions than Sportsmanlike !
  9. And Workington too, the whole idea of the play offs was to give clubs a bumper gate and boost the coffers, what chance have Workington or Lakeside got to promote the final, I've agreed with some of Ged's stances in the past but not this one I'm afraid - this selfish behaviour could earn him a seat at the top table if he doesnt sell !
  10. I agree and I'd let them rule on facilities so once the rule book is written the BSPA MC cannot move from it. If everybody knows where they stand they won't keep asking MC for swerves and they'll just get on with it.
  11. Clearly Willie's face doesn't fit anymore. How can the SCB enforce rules when the Promoters and Management Committee completely disregard them? The truth is the Promoters and Team Managers who drew up the rules don't understand them so clubs are getting away with murder and the officials have to try and work with that.
