He is, not sure how well he goes at the showground though, which is where he'll be guesting. Edit: You beat me to it Mr Mungo!
-
Not sure about after meeting laps, but this will be his competitive Foxhall debut
-
A little over 4 weeks until the Billy Sanders memorial kicks things off at Foxhall. In the Star today, Craig Cook (yet to officially confirm), Ben Barker, Mortens Risager, Adam Ellis, Robert Lambert and all the Witches will be the field Visa issues permitting. Also says King will ride the Foxhall leg of the double header with Peterborough on Good Friday, with Ricky Wells guesting for the evening fixture at the showground.

Isn't this the last season of Sackers Recycling 3 year sponsorship? I think it might be. Hopefully another deal can be agreed next winter.

Priority Over Double Up Riders 2015
CardinalSin replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Foolishly I've been drawn in again. I've already stated weeks ago that I'd said my last word on the matter and I find myself "debating" with you again, you're quite right. I shouldn't have joined in the conversation in the first place, but alas it's too late. There are eyes on this forum as I'm sure you know, and I genuinely don't want to get myself in trouble (if I'm not already) by debating further. If it makes you feel any better, Lewis Blackbird is a Mildenhall asset. Now that IS my last word on the matter. -

I can't believe you're still banging this drum over and over again. I'm not debating this with you, you're wrong and that's a fact. You say you're a sponsor of Lewis and he's told you personally that he's a Mildenhall asset. I don't disbelieve you at all, and perhaps Blackbird does genuinely think he is a Mildenhall asset.. -
Priority Over Double Up Riders 2015
CardinalSin replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have they? Must admit, I always thought that EL clubs could sign "assets" without said rider even turning a wheel for them (albeit a limited number?), while a PL club had to sign a rider, and that rider had to complete 6 home and 6 away fixtures (or simply 12 fixtures?) before the rider became a club asset? I could possibly have completely made that up.. -
Oh dear that'll please the Louis'! Their biggest money spinner with normally a bumper crowd, will probably now turn in to a game of spot the fan!!
-
Great here we bloody go again!

I would prefer King as captain for the reasons already stated. The only problem is that Hawkins was captain last year and he's still in the side this year, King wasn't here. So giving the captaincy to King would mean taking the job off Hawkins, which would be harsh and could possibly have a detrimental effect on Hawkins. So for that reason, I'd probably leave it with Hawkins.

Slightly different as Worky appealed a rejection. Doesn't sound like Manzares' has been rejected in the first place hence the "no issues" comment. If Workington or the riders have re-applied, had the requests rejected and then confirmation of an appeal rejected also, then I'd have thought Louis would have got some confirmation of a successful application also by now? Guess we'll just have to wait and see one way or the other.

@Mike_Bacon: @ipswichspeedway News from CL, cogs moving. No issues with Rohan or Gino getting visas. Yes some riders know they won't get 1 That was the tweet from the Ipswich Star sports journalist this morning. So after all that's been going and the "Workshop" that was attended by everyone last Friday, for Chris Louis to say this morning that there's no issue with visas, then Manzares must qualify. Somehow.
-
I never once implied Speedway is, or should be above the law so stop being pedantic.
-
If he's refused a visa, we'll have 6.12 to find a replacement, any ideas? I'll be gutted if the lad doesn't get a visa to be honest. He was easily the most entertaining Witch I watched at Foxhall last year and he exceeded my expectations for his first season. Just seems wrong that a talent like that can't ride here but someone like Max Dilger can. But, if he doesn't meet the criteria for a visa he doesn't meet it so we'll have to move on. If Worky have already had confirmation that their riders don't qualify, then you'd have thought we'd had confirmation on our riders too if not close to it so hopefully we'll hear something in the coming days.

Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
CardinalSin replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Looks like Gino Manzares will also have problems too unfortunately. -
Having read this on the Workington thread http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100438 then it looks like we'll also be needing a replacement for Manzares? Extremely harsh if that's the case as he done brilliantly last season for his debut season, but it looks like he doesn't meet the qualifying criteria.

That was the meeting Heeps won. Tungate won the Mark Lemon farewell, in much tougher company http://www.milduraindependent.com/news/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=935:tungate-beats-sedgmen-in-final-of-mark-lemon-s-trubute-meeting&catid=28&Itemid=593

Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
CardinalSin replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just have to all wait and see who does, and who doesn't get a Visa of those affected. A real shame if some of those mentioned don't get one though as a few of them definitely bring something positive to the PL. A poster mentioned a page or two back that he's glad these lads aren't getting a Visa and "backtheBrits". Berwick have already decided to give up on Jake Allen, has his place gone to a Brit? Has it hell as like, it's gone to a 5 point Slovenian with dubious pedigree to say the least! I agree that more effort should be made to give more British riders a chance, but they need to be good enough and there in the first place. The non Brit riders mentioned earlier in Dilger, Palovara and Konopka are riders that have offered next to nothing and their places should be the ones that should be given to young Brits as they look easily replaceable. The likes of Manzares/Douglas are not so easily replaced. I don't see many decent 6/7 point PL Brits without a ride waiting for a call. I understand that rules are rules and if some of these lads don't qualify for a Visa then "tough" as some have said, but it wouldn't make it any less of a shame that they would be lost to the PL. I may be biased, but Gino Manzares was box office at Ipswich last season. He's 20 years old, it was his first season in professional team speedway and he managed a 6+ average in his first year whilst being IMO the most entertaining rider in the Ipswich team. It grates a little that he could well miss out, whilst Dilger and Konopka continue to potter around at the back looking generally useless. -
Come on get on with it give us the details
-
Good stuff from the boys and good confidence boosters! Any links to runners and riders point scorers etc?
-
What did Cam win Baldy? I know Tunners (sorry) won the Lemon farewell meeting but not seen anything on Heeps.
-
Still 7 weeks until the Billy Sanders memorial, had enough of the waiting now it's starting to drag a bit like. Can't wait to get back down there.
-
Think I read it was this coming Friday Baldy.

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
CardinalSin replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was going to post the exact same thing. When he first came over he was shall we say, a little unsteady! But he's far from that rider nowadays. -

Disagree with that to be honest. The lad gets stuck in and is good to watch.
