This one has always stuck in my mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf7A27TP0WY

Possibly because there is still "a bit more paperwork to do" according to Chris Louis. From the Ipswich Star "there are still things to be put in to place to ensure more efficiency in the future," Louis said. "But the UK Visa and Immigration Department have told me that Gino and Rohan are free to ride on their current visas and while there is a bit more paperwork to do, it's coming to a satisfactory conclusion for everyone. "It's been a bit stressful but I'm glad in some ways it has happened, so we all know where we stand." Tungate: "it's a relief we now know what's going on, I just want to get going and get riding." Both riders will line up in the Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th. Again, courtesy of the Ipswich Star.

Ben Fund, Swindon March 8
CardinalSin replied to TitusTokio's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
"There are riders who have been beneficiaries of the fund who have declined to ride, and there have been top riders who have not taken their turn in riding in the meeting. They probably think they are never going to need it but they dont know what lies around the corner. They need to support it, because without a successful Bonanza meeting the good work the Ben Fund does would be substantially reduced. You have to single out Ben Barker for praise, hes ridden in it every year. In my opinion those who dont support it shouldnt get anything out of it". That is really disappointing to read, it really is. On the flip side, good lad Ben Barker! -
Having just read the article, it's simply a case that the UKV&I have informed Louis that Tungate and Manzares are free to ride on their current visas, and it's not a case of them having to apply for new ones.. Bottom line is its all sorted and both riders will take their place in the Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th. Really looking forward to it.

Has anybody else who has been affected been confirmed yet? I read a few weeks ago that Matt Ford said they were ahead of the field in getting their sponsors licence and applications for new Visas, and I haven't seen that Even Chris Holder has got his yet. Does seem very quick, especially reading yesterday's Speedway Star where Chris Louis openly admits this Visa stuff is all knew to him and he wasn't exactly sure what the next step was!!

Great news! Press and practice a week on Monday, nearly there!
-
Just a fortnight to go Craig Cook has had to withdraw from this Sunday's ben fund as he hasn't got his machinery ready yet, hope he gets a shift on and gets them sorted in time for the 19th! Always good value around Foxhall is Cookie and I'm looking forward to his races with Danny King and Ben Barker.

In time to take his place in the Billy Sanders Memorial on the 19th
-
Yep so there we have it. Now let's hope the visas don't take too long in arriving and we can get them over here for the start of the season.

Anyone know when press and practice is? The Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th, meet the riders night on Wednesday the 18th, so I'm guessing P&P on the Monday/Tuesday?
-
Thats a shame. Hopefully Panthers get good guests and it's still a good meeting. Definitely devalues the product with all these double uppers constantly missing fixtures here and there, it can be so frustrating as we found out with Ellis last year. It'll be interesting to see how Robert Lambert gets on in the Billy Sanders memorial and how he handles Foxhall. I initially thought it was a good fixture for him to get some Foxhall laps under his belt with Good Friday just around the corner.
-
I don't really care how he qualifies tbh, as long as he does that's good enough for me.
-
Now confirmed by the club that the sponsors licence is in place. Slowly getting there.
-
Mmmm a bit behind a few others then! I read on a Poole press release that Chris Holder will wait for up to three weeks from applying for his Visa to recieve it, so if we still haven't got the sponsor licence yet, the two riders look favourite to miss a few meetings at the start of the season? Fingers crossed they are available for the Good Friday fixtures, because the attendance already looks like taking a hit with Ipswich town playing a few hours later at home. Missing Tungate and Manzares could see even more stay away which would be a big blow to the promotion who rely on the bank holiday "money spinners".
-
lol entirely possible!

@batchattack1: Me and @rohantungate just finished a morning sesh at @CrossFit_ISC in Ipswich good bunch of people down there 👍 Tweet from Troy Batchelor, so now we know for certain Rohan is in the UK. Holiday Visa presumably?
-
Yes it would be rather embarrassing! You have to think he surely knows though and must have been given assurances that the qualifying criteria is met. Just gotta hope they don't take too long in arriving and they're here for the start of the season. Gonna be tight by the looks of things.
-
@Mike_Bacon: @ipswichspeedway fans Latest on visa issues. Just spoke to CL, no worries with @Gino_Manzares or @rohantungate visas. Both meet criteria. Tweet from Mike Bacon this morning. We can breathe easy(er)!
-
Think we all did! Was an excellent debut season and will be a crying shame if he's not granted a Visa. Just have to carry on waiting but the clock is ticking fast..
-
Well the countdown clock on the official website says 25 days, and still no word on whether the club have even regained their sponsors license yet let alone the riders' visas. Perhaps we'll know a little more this week. I see Mike Bacon hasn't tweeted anything for over a week so perhaps he's been on his Hollibobs hence the lack of any information. Or possibly not.

Thanks for that spanner47 lets hope that's correct. All very well some on here stating that this or that rider does/doesn't meet the criteria, when the fact is none of us know exactly what that criteria is.
