  1. Hawkins definitely misses out, confirmed broken rib and muscle damage. That's s blow because he's been a key rider in our victories here last season. Heeps and the reserves will take his rides.
  2. Agree it's just one mans opinion, no more or no less. I do agree with his top 6 though but maybe in a slightly different order. The one in the top 6 I'm not entirely sure of is Peterborough but I think they'll still squeeze in.
  3. The local journalist has done his prediction in todays local rag.. 1 Edinburgh 2 Ipswich 3 Somerset 4 Glasgow 5 Workington 6 Peterborough 7 Newcastle 8 Sheffield 9 Berwick 10 Redcar 11 Plymouth 12 Scunthorpe 13 Rye House
  4. Yup good stuff from the club! Track Talk episode 1
  5. A new you all the way up until Saturday then

  8. After reading the comments I was expecting something awful, but they look pretty good to me.
  9. "From the English team Adam Roynon, a rider who has unfortunately had to call on the Ben Fund a number of times, has had to withdraw as his equipment is not ready." http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28438
  10. Think if they opened the doors to the public, it has to be classified as one of Ipswich' allocated "official" fixtures. That was the line we were given a few years back anyway.
  11. You couldn't be more wrong with that suggestion!
  12. Just read the speedway star, and Phil Hilton says he's already met with Tungate, Heeps and Manzares and spoken on the phone to King and "skipper" Ritchie Hawkins. So looks like Hawkins retains the captaincy. No real surprise and a sound decision.
  13. Gotta be Ray Chinnery for start Marshall hasn't it?
  14. Ahh a meeting thread! Enough to warm the cockles of ya heart! Not sure on this one could go either way and I think it'll be tight. One thing could go in our favour though, and that is all 7 Witches will have a semi competitive meeting a couple of days before in the Billy Sanders memorial, so maybe we'll catch Rye cold.
  15. Totally agree, in a class of his own.
  16. Been thinking about Billy Sanders with his memorial next week, with lots of 70's and 80's memorabilia on show. What a golden era that was! There are always songs I hear from time to time on the blower that take me back to those great days at Foxhall.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50xx1_CbJTI Booker T Time Is Tight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6bsoyT86LE A Swingin safari. I can't remember if this is one I used to hear at the stadium, or whether it was the advertising theme on local radio (think it was radio orwell at the time?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQqHCb16MNg And of course the obvious one, the much loved A Walk In The Black Forest Are there any I've missed? Any tunes that remind anyone else of the great days of Billy's era?
  17. This one has always stuck in my mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf7A27TP0WY
  18. Possibly because there is still "a bit more paperwork to do" according to Chris Louis. From the Ipswich Star "there are still things to be put in to place to ensure more efficiency in the future," Louis said. "But the UK Visa and Immigration Department have told me that Gino and Rohan are free to ride on their current visas and while there is a bit more paperwork to do, it's coming to a satisfactory conclusion for everyone. "It's been a bit stressful but I'm glad in some ways it has happened, so we all know where we stand." Tungate: "it's a relief we now know what's going on, I just want to get going and get riding." Both riders will line up in the Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th. Again, courtesy of the Ipswich Star.
  19. Having just read the article, it's simply a case that the UKV&I have informed Louis that Tungate and Manzares are free to ride on their current visas, and it's not a case of them having to apply for new ones.. Bottom line is its all sorted and both riders will take their place in the Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th. Really looking forward to it.
  20. Has anybody else who has been affected been confirmed yet? I read a few weeks ago that Matt Ford said they were ahead of the field in getting their sponsors licence and applications for new Visas, and I haven't seen that Even Chris Holder has got his yet. Does seem very quick, especially reading yesterday's Speedway Star where Chris Louis openly admits this Visa stuff is all knew to him and he wasn't exactly sure what the next step was!!
  21. Great news! Press and practice a week on Monday, nearly there!
  22. In time to take his place in the Billy Sanders Memorial on the 19th
  23. Yep so there we have it. Now let's hope the visas don't take too long in arriving and we can get them over here for the start of the season.
