  1. Looking at those averages, i think you'd be silly not to use Risager next season.
  2. Ritchie seems to have had a really poor year by his standards although he seems to have picked up in recent weeks. He'll be on a bargain average though for next year and these are the guys you want in your team. Kozza on the other hand has had a great year, but will now be on an expensive average that he may struggle to increase next year so not very attractive. Perverse the way speedway works!
  3. It did mine Badge when after Fozz mentioned that he knew Chris was disappointed in riders Chris said that the riders were inconsistent and he thought we "had the experience at the top end to pull us through that". My mind immediately sprung to Doolan and Risager but of course i could be totally wrong. He's also mentioned his disappointment with Risager on the same programme a few weeks back when whilst admitting the bad injury didn't help, he was taking far longer to get over it than they thought and also that when they signed him over the winter, they thought his Elite League experience all these years would see him sharper out of the gate in this League and clear of trouble but again finished with, "sadly thats not been the case". I'm not convinced he'll be back asset or no asset.
  4. Another interesting interview with Chris Louis tonight on radio suffolk. When asked when planning starts for 2012, Louis replied "3 or 4 months ago". They've been thinking about the team for next year long and hard for several months and have plenty of irons in the fire and already names down on the team sheet. They're far more advanced for team building at this time of the year than they've ever been before. It seems that they have far more options and are finding it so much easier to put together strong teams in the Premier League than the Elite League which you'd kind of expect really but it does make a refreshing change. There was a hint that he's been disappointed with a couple of riders this year and although no names were mentioned, i've a feeling that those expecting Doolan and Risager to return as they've become assets, maybe surprised. Time will tell and by the sounds of things we won't have to wait too long after the AGM to find out.
  5. Would love to see Danny King as our number 1 he'd be awesome in this League but I just can't see him being interested in dropping down and his average would be far too high.
  6. A big well done to Mildenhall in both the result and getting the meeting on. Interesting interview with Chris Louis in the Evening Star on Thursday saying that his plan for both Ipswich AND Mildenhall was going well and "on course". I think the ultimate goal is to eventually move both clubs up a division. After all the uncertainty, things are definitely looking up for Mildenhall and they look in very capable hands which is fantastic.
  7. Well Montie, you've certainly ruffled a few feathers with your Heeps to Sheffield hints Chris Louis done his weekly speedway interview on radio suffolk this evening and the presenter Stephen Foster put to Chris the rumours doing the rounds on the BSF! that Cameron Heeps was Sheffield bound next season (although i'm not sure how referee Chris Durno got mixed up with it all as the source of them ) Chris stated he was aware of the rumours and called Chris Durno personally who was on holiday and knew nothing about it. Chris Louis stated that Cameron would obviously be in demand and will make up his own mind, but in his words he thinks the lad is courted by every Premier and Elite league club in the country but he "fully expects Cameron to be lining up with Ipswich in the Premier league next season". I guess that also puts to bed any potential rumours that Ipswich could look to move back up to the Elite league. I'm not very good at links, but i know Badge is a dab hand in that department and will probably post a link to that interview in full at some point.
  8. Deary me he is exploiting nothing. Your bitterness towards Cameron Heeps is completely misplaced and unnecessary
  9. Unfair. Lambert is a very experienced rider and is scoring very well at Premier league level let alone NL. Lambert won heat one in 50.7 seconds, Heeps then won heat two in an identical time. Lambert won heat 5 in 51.3, Heeps then won heat 6 in 51 seconds dead. Heat 15 looked as though it was going to be a ding dong battle between the two of them until his fall. Now this is a rider (Lambert) who as i've said, is scoring very well for Sheffield at Premier level. Heeps is 15 years old, has been over here a matter of weeks, has only just jumped upon a 500cc machine, and is already on the pace and mixing it with Premier league riders. Quite incredible really and the lad obviously has immense talent. A terrific ADDITION to the British league.
  10. Good post Phil couldn't agree more. I must say I've really enjoyed my Sunday visits this season it's a great little set up. The food is very good too! Far better than the "food" we get dished up with at Foxhall.
  11. He won't get seven rides no, but i don't think the lad will be one bit fazed about riding at number one. A very enjoyable meeting today and Heeps' team riding in heat 14 was majestic. Speaking to him before the meeting, he was still feeling a little second hand after a fall last week which makes his performance all the more impressive. Looked set for a good battle with Lambert in heat 15 until his fall. Very much looking forward to seeing more of him in the coming weeks and also seeing how he handles Foxhall against stiff opposition in the 16 lapper in October.
  12. I deleted my post as it's far too early for this but it looks like it's started already

  14. I'm hoping by the time the lad is ready for the Elite league Bagpuss, that we show some ambition and move up with him. It's believed the lad either is, or will become a club "asset". The idea was that we were dropping down a league to rebuild. That includes our finances, and asset base before moving back up. It's no good moving back up if the club is going to be half hearted about it and signing the journeyman Poles that we've been used to over the years that would be financial suicide as the fans wouldn't support it enough to make it viable. They WOULD however support a competitive Elite league team with exciting talents such as Cameron Heeps wearing the Witch. This is what bugs me about being in the Premier league. Any rider with talent will ultimately outgrow the league and you'll lose them pretty quickly. Lasse Bjerre has become a big Foxhall favourite, but the fans know they'll see him 6 more times before he move up full time next year. Whoever is lucky enough to sign Heeps next year, will just be preparing the lad for Poole or Peterborough in 2013 if he progresses as expected. Ok the club will receive a nice fat cheque that will help the running of the club just like Lynn with Darcy Ward, but as I said, I hope finances allow that the club move up with him and any other talented youngsters we may sign in the near future that gives us an exciting competitive Elite league side. Sorry for going off topic here by the way. I'm sure we'll be talking a lot more about Cameron Heeps in the future on appropriate threads.
  15. And hopefully Ipswich bound next year before he joins Poole in 2013 Awesome stuff for Mildy well done lads
  16. Thanks for that Kev. It has to be said, Cameron Heeps sounds absolutely mustard! 15 years old? He seems one hell of a prospect. Seems an exciting rider too and an out and out racer. Taking Roynon from the back on a track he's never seen or ridden before is impressive.
  17. Did North or Poole ride NL at 15??
  18. Can someone tell me how Olly Rayson got on please?
  19. And beyond that hopefully. For what its worth i think he'll do a full season at Midenhall next year but time will tell. My first visit to Mildenhall on Sunday for donkey's years and i enjoyed it. Very nice set up you have there.
  20. His gating needs working on though its awful at the moment, but he's a racer no doubt about that. With the greatest respect to to Mildenhall's track, i think he'll be better suited to bigger tracks where he can open up the throttle and attack more. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the wider bends at Foxhall. Maybe when he turns 16 at the tail end of the season he may be brought in as Ipswich #8 and given a few rides just as Blackbird and Jacobs have. Particularly if as seems likely, we've nothing to ride for by then.
  21. For his first competitive meeting in this country, that was pretty impressive it has to be said. Exciting rider.
  22. Well done Joe Jacobs. In excellent form these last few weeks good lad.
  23. Can Heeps ride in open meetings? I just wonder whether we might see the lad in action for the 16 lapper at Foxhall in October.
