Agreed. Up against it tonight so definitely 2 points gained. A lot better from Hawkins tonight. More of the same needed from here on in. Heeps again impressive and got better as the meeting wore on. I have high hopes for this lad. -

I'd still be excited about one big league. I hope it happens. -

If that happens then you're probably right. Personally I'd be excited to see one big league but we'll see what happens in the coming months. -

Baldy is quite right, yes we're doing well, but that doesn't mean you should sit back and congratulate yourselves. You must always look to improve and be even better than you currently are. I'll be honest, I've been disappointed with Hawkins' performances SO FAR as although he's never pulled up any trees in his career, I can't remember him ever being quite this poor. You also have to question his commitment to the cause as we're led to believe he took some persuading to remain for the season. Just how much hunger and desire does he actually have? That position in the team has been a bit of a disaster really. Firstly Makinen and now Hawkins although to be fair, it was never going to be easy finding quality on a 5 point average. But despite that it's been a super effort so far. I've been most pleased with the young lads Heeps and Ellis. Heeps has come on leaps and bounds from last year and Ellis has shown flashes of brilliance. Hopefully Louis is already on the case to retain Ellis next season as just like Heeps this year, I fully expect Ellis to improve again in his second year. -

Klindt for Palm Toft? Scunny suddenly look as good as anything in the League. Kind of proves it's not vital to get your team building spot on during the winter, as long as you can make the right changes in time for the play offs. Think we'll get turned over here especially without Barker and Tungate's fitness issues after that horrific crash at Peterborough. -

Think I'd prefer R/R to be honest. Lanham seems to have hit a bit of form and he, Risager, Tungate and Heeps are all capable of winning races at Foxhall. I personally think the points gathered by those lads would be on a par with any guest other than Cook or Doyle. Not a fan of guests anyway I'd rather use our own riders so R/R for me. -
Now you're going too far! Wouldn't wish that on anybody.

I think the thread was deleted partly due to one of the "moderators" getting the hump at others starting new Ipswich threads after the main one disappeared. The people who started the new threads also received 24 hour bans, which is petty in the extreme. If the mod in question had simply stated at the time of deleting said thread, that is was being worked through and would return once the offending material was removed, then the new threads in all likelihood wouldn't have been started. A mod note did finally appear, stating what was going on with the Ipswich 2013 thread, but far too late in my opinion. Poor.

Edinburgh V Ipswich (lc - Sf) 5/6/13 @ 7.30pm
CardinalSin replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Perfectly poised and all to play for. Interesting that had this been a League meeting, we would have picked up another point, and against a very very good side. We've been excellent on the road. Fingers crossed Barker is ok. -

Anyone know if Hawkins is riding tonight or is he still taking time out? -

Should really be targeting the full 4 on Sunday, no offence to Glasgow intended but they looked an absolute mess last night. We never do well at Worky and have riders in our side that don't seem to have a clue how to ride the place. We'll get nothing there, but move on to Glasgow and make sure we pick up at least 3 for the win to keep things ticking over nicely. -

I don't either. I've been twice and seen one excellent meeting, and one pretty good meeting with good racing both times. But, reading the posts from the locals who go week in week out, I'm convinced I've just been very very lucky! Maybe? -

I've said this before we have no real rivalry in the PL. All our history is with EL clubs. I've noticed on this forum over the last few years that we haven't really fitted in. I read other threads where supporters are really looking forward to certain fixtures because it's a chance to get one over their bitter rivals and the rivalry is quite obvious. We don't have that in the PL. Without getting in to the EL Vs PL entertainment debate, one thing I personally miss is racing against Lakeside, Eastbourne and Peterborough. The fixture most missed by everybody is the Ipswich/Lynn derbies. Just typical that the season we move to the PL, Lynn go the other way and we STILL miss out on the Derby! Those Good Friday battles over the years live long in the memory and are badly missed in my opinion. -

Just seen the forecast on BBC breakfast too. Looked a few dark blue patches in that band of rain over Anglia but as you say, looks to be clearing north of us around 3-4pm. One thing in our favour though, its going to be warm and humid again today so that should help dry things up fairly quickly I'd have thought. Would have thought also that Bob Ellis would have needed to throw quite a lot of water down throughout today which he'll now surely not do so I'm hopeful. -

I was about to say that. He was good value at Foxhall earlier in the season and generally started the season very well for Rye. But he does seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall at the moment which surprises me. That forecast is out of date. This is the latest one http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646057 Looking pretty doubtful going by that. -
Alleged by who? I can recall John Louis stating that Foxhall had an excellent safety record over the years with the collapsable fence, but I can't recall him, or anyone at Ipswich ever saying that NO serious injury had EVER occurred at Foxhall?
