I'm with you there as well, but I'm confident Risager, Heeps and Manzares will be in the team, and if there's no change with the doubling up rule next weekend then I'm confident King will be in there too. Agree though that King, Worrall and Wells would be a potent top end, even though I'd have slight concerns with Wells' apparent commitment or lack of, to his PL clubs.

Agreed but problem is if He's second heatleader behind Tungate, then IMO he'll very quickly move back to number 1. Neither Tungate nor Worrall are strong enough at number 1 for me. King and Worrall top 2, harsh on Rohan yes but that's what I'd like to see. http://www.speedwaygb.co/plteamissues14.html The final Greensheets for team building Tungate 8.36 Risager 7.36 Worrall 7.32 Manzares 6.02 Heeps 5.38 Hawkins 5.27 Ellis 4.67 Total: 44.38 Danny King 8.84.. King 8.84 Risager 7.36 Heeps 5.38 Manzares 6.02 ? up to 7.23 Ellis 4.67 3 pointer

Couldn't agree more with that bit, but totally disagree regarding Tungate and King. There's no doubt in my mind that King will be a 9 point number 1, Tungate on the other hand wouldn't get remotely close to that riding at 1 all season in my opinion. Tungate has done well to push his average up over 8, but he's achieved that average not riding in the number 1 position. If he's chosen to lead the team next year he'll get my full support, but if he's going to be our "big hitter" in the team we're going to be seriously outgunned at the tail end of meetings. For the record Worrall isn't the answer at 1 either, but he has a better looking average and would be ok as a second heatleader.

What "hype"? Nobody is wetting their drawers at the prospect, just saying he'll be a very good number 1 to lead the team, which he would be. Who would you like at number 1?
-
I'd quite like to see Lewis with us actually he looked terrific last season. He's an Ipswich (Chris Louis) asset so I'm sure if Louis wanted him in the side then it would be more than a possibility so we'll see.

The gist of the article is Brian Messenger has no intention as staying on as manager, Heeps is a must to stay as he's on an artificial average due to him taking a while to overcome wrist surgery, and he hints at a big hitting number 1 and then finding the right 3 point man. He says he has no knowledge of who we will sign, but he's heard King mentioned so that looks a possibility.

I've got my heart set on King and I think it'll happen unless the doubling up rule is scrapped at the AGM. Start with King, then build from there. Manzares and Heeps are shoe ins I'd have thought.

I read it that way too. -
Just thought I'd bump this as for some reason the 2015 thread has fell off the radar and next season's rumours are going in the 2014 thread..

6.22 divided by 0.6 is 10.37, not 9.952.
-
I make Schlein 10.37? Too hefty for me.
-
You've both left out Risager, ultimate schoolboy error! so both try again
-
I said similar, very surprised at the luke warm response to the prospect of King joining by some. If he signs, they could prove to be right and us wrong time will tell as always!
-
I think its a little foolish to rule someone either in or out next season on what is essentially an end of season glorified practice session.
-
I can understand those saying Rohan is a risk on his average, but he's our asset, has improved each year and it would leave a slight sour taste if he was left out for me. I do share the same concerns as others regarding him though so I'm on the fence.
-
Not convinced by King but a top 2 of Worrall and Wells would be "interesting"? Had a bit of a shocker there Lovey!
-
Could say the same about Tungate Bruv although I suppose it's easier coming from Motorcross to speedway than road bikes?

I haven't got a problem with Risager. Based on this season alone I'm sure he's performed consistently better than any other member of the team so he's the last one I'd be criticising. BUT, I do think it's time that the team needs freshening up and having a different look about it so Risager would be one I'd personally leave out. If he isn't in the team next year though I'll eat my hat. So do I, Risager. Seriously, Wells isn't that good and if people like to have a good whinge about Risager, they'll absolutely hate Wells I promise you.
