  1. What has leicester 's track got to do with Glyn taylor's expertise at producing a track ? he was nothing to do with the layout of the track and just does the best he can with the sows ear Hemsley marked out , because he knew better than all the experts who had already marked a track out and still tries to convince everyone there is nothing wrong with ,but of course the people who go to leicester regularly and pay their money have no right to an opinion , that should be left to experts like you who know everything becauee they visit twice a year
  2. Far better to drop to scunthorpes level ,........................................ Not. down to a level . insteead of up to a standard , glad I dont have to do business with you
  3. Amateur sport is run at the weekend to avoid conflict with work , so how is riding at kent on monday , cradley and IOW tuesday , kings lynn on wednesday and SCUNTHORPE on Friday considered to be amateur , other than to suit the argument of someone who doesn't think tracking scuntorpes team is anything less than shameful ? robbing the public , endangering the whole league , and making speedway look mickey mouse with 19-71 scorelines is shameful , How many rounds of scunthorpes amateur series are run on weekdays or tagged on to the end of PL matches ?
  4. Earth calling Hemsley , it's still not working , time to admit you got it wrong and accept that someone else knows better , while you still have a track to do it with . Even the hardcore Hemsley apologists are jumping ship now , so it must be getting lonely up there in cuckoo land
  5. OK I wont post anything else , feel free to just post your view without being challenged ,
  6. No what I did was to actually post a comment on the subject in hand instead of cherry picking an odd ocacasion and trying to score points , having to second guess every patheitic loophole someone will find in every post makes posting on the BSF hard work rather than an amusing pastime , and getting embroiled in sidetrack arguments with cretins is no lopnger my bag I' m afraid . so I'll just say , Kings Lynn did not turn up with a training school team , and no one would have been put off attending because they were the opposition . so your weak point is completlely irrelevant and wasted here .
  7. I have no doubt that the Stags riders have not spent huge amounts on equipment , but to claim that Kyle Newman is the only draught rider to have invested heavily in his equipment (based entirely on what you heard on a tv interview ) not only demonstrates how little you actually know about speedway but is also insulting to the rest of the draught riders their parents and most natiional league riders , who have spent just as much on equipment , Kyle Newmans main advantage is his experience of riding at higher level ,2 seasons of premier league with somerset and half a season of Elite with Poole are his advantage . as for the promoters putting their hands in their pockets to provide a training Scheme, they already are , by making up the losses when Scunthorpe are the opposition .
  8. When Scunthorpe made their late bid into the Nl this year , Most other NL teams will have assumed that having been a standalone NL club as well as a multi level club , that Scunthorpe would have known what level of teambuilding would be expected and tried to field a competitive team and also welcomed the extra competition /fixtures as a boost to the National league and all the clubs in it , If they were made aware of the intention to run a team of raw novices , I doubt Scunthorpe would have received the open arms welcome and votes from the other clubs that they did , It's all very well messrs Godfrey and Ford feathering their nest for the future , but it's hardly fair that it should be done at the expense of the other national league clubs and their supporters , I can easily imagine the attitude of Godfrey if another team had brought a training school standard team to try and attract the paying public when Scunthorpe were standalone NL , Now that the boot is on the other it's a different story . supporters of this policy complaining about riders such as James Cockle being professional NL riders and wanting the points limit dropped to level the playing field to amateur level are simply taking a selfish view , First off , in the last few years the national league itself has become more professional and if riders are happy to compete at the top level of that league while maintaining a income from working as well good for them , secondly Dudley, Mildenahall , Stoke and Buxton Supporters dont see the national league as some sort of benevolent training scheme , NL is the level that their clubs can afford to race at and they support their teams in the same way as any supporter of premier and Elite league speedway , they pay their money to see competitive meetings and want to see their teams succeed in whatever competions they enter . If scunthorpe are so keen to give novices their chance in a team , then organise some full meetings against riders of their level, from the southern track and the dragons
  9. And says so in public !! goodbye Norrie , It was fun while it lasted Did you know that your comment , saved on the desktop is posting its self again ?
  10. So lets make all the standalones go into the premier league in 2015 ,.not exactly the best idea I have ever heard , Since Mildenhall , Stoke and Buxton have all been there and cannot make it pay so that will see them 3 close , Dudley cant use Monmore green for Premier league so it's goodbye to them , The criteria for a team place at Scunthorpe this year was how much money the riders had spent taking part in practises and the winter series at Scunthorpe ,(not my words by the way , the words of Richard Hollingworth on the Scunthorpe website ) So in 2015 the new 6 team national league will be built to strength of the weakest link , and who exactly do you think is going to want to pay £10-12 to watch this spectacle ? . I wont bother myself nor can I imagine will a lot of others , so I would suggest the riders who have been given team places on the strength of how many admission tickets they have collected better Improve rapidly during 2015 and move into premier league because in 2016 there will be no National league
  11. Operative word there is Could , If Ladbrokes would take my bet that it will not. I would have a dead cert
  12. I think this season will see some absolute shockers from the reserves and also some big surprises . not just Leicesters but all the elite teams reserves . that's the nature of inexperience , the youngsters who will benefit most from this new idea will be the ones who are part of teams with a consistent top 5 who can carry them on the off nights and take the pressure off their points tally being so critical , some of the younger riders will take a while to settle into the more Insular world of Elite league , having spent their formative time In "team" surroundings it will take some adjustment getting used to being one of the seven , and your team captains main concern is how much he is being paid and will he make it in time for the airflight to his next paycheck rather than the welfare of his underlings , at the end of 2014 season some of the draft riders will have taken the step up in their stride and become better riders , but a lot more will be happy having experienced life at the top table to go back to the safety of the national league
  13. nothing to see here folks . move along , just same old same old , nothing to add just the normal cut and paste ,
  14. Thanks for that ,the best laugh I have had for ages , Comedy gold there folks
  15. Not as tedious as mrcts constantly sticking HIs /her conk in , and not even venturing to debate , just call all other posters names and keep repeating the same thing , anyone who doesn't agree with "it" has an axe to grind , wants to see Leicester speedway fail , has a hidden agenda , frankly it's boring . shame the mods don't ban "it" Good luck with that then , don't bother posting the results of your survey though because it will be meaningless , of course riders who have signed for this year are not going to tell the truth , would you ? we have seen the results of anyone saying anything DH doesn't want to hear . would you expect any of the riders ,most of who were cast off by their club and were in the last chance saloon when Leicester signed them, to risk their team places for this year by speaking the truth ?
  16. It has already dwindled from the initial 3,000 to 1.200 at best , changes of race night repetetive opposition and long gaps in fixtures will see further deterioration in crowd numbers during 2014
  17. Nicely put HT , It's not as if the problem with the shape of the track Is only in the imagination of one or two with an axe to grind , neither is the solution so expensive that the promotion cannot afford to deal with it , the main obstacle to decent racing at BP is the promoter himself , he has spent so long trying to convince everyone that the track he originally threw down while Sam Ermolenko had his back turned is as good as any other , and until someone can come up with a plan to put that mistake right people will complain and continue to vote with their feet , Most people with even a small knowledge of speedway can tell whats wrong with the track at BP , but until someone can come up with a plan which completely exonerates David Hemsley of any blame nothing is going to be done , Nero will continue to play the fiddle while Rome burns
  18. I'm glad you enjoyed your day out , taking into account the unexpected burst of good weather adding to the feel good factor and the winter break with no speedway I'm not surprised that you had an enjoyable day TBH , here's a question for you , would you still have thought it was such a great day if you had been regularly attending Leicester speedway over the last few seasons and become quite accustomed to gate and go speedway ,.and went to this hoping against hope that better standard riders would bring better entertainment . some of the worlds most entertaining riders were there yesterday and they could not put on a decent show would that encourage anyone to buy a season ticket if that's a sample of whats on offer . Leicester joined the elite league and the supporters were hoping for a better standard of racing week in and week out with more local derbies as well . No doubt about it Elite league speedway is of a better standard and if any Leicester fans want to see the Lions in top class races there's now an opportunity to see Just that . at Coventry , Wolverhampton or Birmingham .
  19. I find it odd that people make excuses for poor entertainment by stating it was for charity maybe next year those who were expecting to go to a speedway meeting and be entertained or see any racing would be better off to just put £17 in an envelope and post it the BSPA to avoid wasting their time and having their expectations dashed , realistically the naysayers should have been aware that charity events are more about the charity element than anything else , Come on naysayers get with the program . would you go to" Live Aid " and expect the artists to arrive with their instruments tuned properly and make an effort to play to the best of their ability , or the organisers to make every effort to ensure the line-ups and facilitiies were the best they could offer Of course not , so why would you expect it from speedway , Why do they bother with facilities Like Wembley for these charity music events and spend a fortune on gigantic sound systems so that everyone can hear ? they could just stack some pallets up for a stage out on Romney marshes and get lookalikes to walk around on them ,nobody would expect anything else and to complain would be churlish after all it's a charity event you should not expect anything in return for your money
  20. yes but it's usually full well before start time with people who are not disabled ,
  21. It's time the Uk Border Agency got their act together , the way things are going and if speedway in the uk is to continue , We will end up having to develop home grown riders Imagine that !! the British Elite League and Premier league full of British riders . it's a shame that some of the effort and interest by promotions and supporters in ensuring employment for a foreign rider , cannot be chanelled into ensuring some British prospects have a future in the sport . I'm sure we all agree that point ,
  22. The Elite league and premier league wont see any financial benefit but one thing for sure, Gospeed will ,, you can bet on that !! not sure it would be very good to watch either . the only reason most people would be watching would be to see the result . so more than likely a single camera operation with little or no production value , it would not be like watching a sky sports match .
