Fortunately . none of the riders used the extra 2 feet on the entrances to the turns last night , but someone will be desperate enough to try it soon .and the result will be an accident as they go into the turn at 100 mph after coming down the motorway and can neither , turn or scrub off enough speed to navigate their way round , lets hope It's only a rider who goes into the airbags and not one trying to pass who winds up T-boning another rider , -
In the case we are speaking of . A small army of Volunteers , probably the same people who built the place and are there almost every day maintaining it . ask yourself this if it was any other sport with similar requirements would we be having this debate or would the problem have been resolved years ago ?

Just leave the covers off until the track has had enough water , then pull them over , and leave them in place till just before start time , Unlike TVOR would like us all to believe It's not rocket science . How many meetings over the years have been called off and just as the supporters are leaving the sun comes out ? I have left stadiums with the track steaming from the sun drying it .

Which clubs dont? I would have thought it's a good opportunity to give the fans a free look at what they are going to be paying to see for the next 8 months , maybe you are of the school of thought that does not believe in goodwill being essential in business . -

Not long now and we shall see if the track work has had any effect , although with the massive gulf in rider standard this will not be a very good benchmark . -

do you know how official measurement of track length is taken ? it's something like measured around the kerb and measured mid track then a mean distance is the track length . 1 and 2 only look like they have moved about 1 foot over a short length , so a mean distance might be so negligable . no new track length no new track record -

The Malletts threw their toys out of the pram because the Bspa insisted Todd Kurtz was an Australian after he had entered the Aussie championships . that was how I remember the beginning of the end . was that a ruse to cover the fact that they had been offered a fair sum for Queensway meadows ?.dont suppose we will ever know . but the turn round on the eve of the season having built one of their best teams in years and the apparent dis-interest in offers of taking over the promotion and the speed plans were passed and the place was demolished are most questionable -

Is it really ? Synonyms 2. Diplomatic, ability to avoid offending others or hurting their feelings, especially in situations where this ability is important. Diplomatic suggests a smoothness and skill in handling others, usually in such a way as to attain one's own ends and yet avoid any unpleasantness or opposition: . Courtesy of Dictionary .com Pepsi and Coke used to take the lining off your stomach and rot your teeth back in the good old days when they tasted of something other than caramel and sugar , would not let that put me off a sponsorship deal, Nah seriously lets keep it local and tie up a deal for some free transport and cheap building materials , getting a global corporation on board would only lead to raising speedways profile and making it look like a truly professional sport -

unfortunately for you LD nothing you post on here will be taken at face value , if you don't agree with the popular view you will simply be accused of hidden agenda ,chip on your shoulder , envy or the like . . the fact that you were involved in securing the return of the Lions while Hemsley was still going round in circles on a pushbike counts for nothing to those who were watching coronation street while others were sowing the seeds of a return of Leicester speedway , and now that you are no longer involved ,any information imparted about events before the gates opened at BP will only be viewed in the light of your discontent rather than be viewed as actual fact , Personally since you have not visited BP at all last year I would suggest you leave to those who still do attend and therefore have a better knowledge of events that took place in the years leading up to planning permission being granted . some of them have actually spoken personally to Dave Hemsley , how could you ever hope to enlighten those people ? -

What were the Council promised initially and along the way to smooth the path for speedway ? I have heard that as the other projects have fallen by the wayside Dave Hemsley has taken them on himself . if thats the case the council will just expect him to keep his promises , although a global recession may well affect everybody , the council wont care they cant afford to do anything themselves but that wont stop them trying to force someone else to . Councils =cant afford to empty your bins every week because of a global recession , try telling them you cant afford to pay your council tax because of a global recession and see what happens . !! -

You could well be right there , then again he may have done some calculations and worked out there are enough fools who will gladly swallow whatever is served up as long as it's called leicester speedway and decided to take the easy option -

20 metres off the straights should help a bit , so the track is 320m now could be looking at sub 1 minute race times -

have the drains been moved or has the track been taken as near as possible and they are still in the same place . not moving the drains was the cheapest option . but for any radical change they would have to be moved , surely they have not moved then and only made limited changes ? -

Maybe he was not the best example .but since it was on a Leicester thread the most pertinent , he had already proved the point many times before he came to Leicester and if they really took him on for column inches that just shows how naive they were .Anyone who made the connection was coming anyway and new support were oblivious to his family history and would have been more interested in a team who at least looked winners . you get what you pay for!!
