  1. i was his spanner man for him on the i.o.w total nutter but lovable guy real personality would do any thing for a dare but lousy sense of direction went to totaly wrong track one night his step dad is andy day who make replicarace jackets all top guys
  2. what about cordy milne only a war stopped him and was majestic same as always not all riders are looked at i for one wont be voting
  3. have been putting loads of similar memories on the poole web site ,could get rid of the cr*p craven shield event and bring back major open meeting and southern northern and midland riders champs and international test series and maybe uk would be taken seriously as a world speedway power again
  4. last time i saw geoff he was at the wimbledon relaunch and to put it mildly he was well lubricated i wrote to him to come to the sammy miller event he didnt reply but he is ok he would be in his late 60s early 70s
  5. geoff is alive and well and lives near woking in surrey likes a drop of the falling down water
  6. bob was at the sammy miller reunion on sunday enjoyed every minute of it
  7. hi yvonny your dad made my day as did johnnie hole(think he was overwelmed by the responce)in answer to your questions photos if you log on to the poole pirates web site and go into the fans forum and enter the old riders site there are some lovely photos including a smashing saints team photo and yes there is a dvd of the day being made will let you know details when i get them best wishes andy

  9. just to let everyone know that the legendary barry briggs is appearing at the big bash at sammy millers on the 20 th july he will be arriving at approx 12.00 pm to sign copies of his dvd and add to the already star studded guest list
  10. danny rode for poole for at least threes seasons died of a brain tumor can remembering fencing gary gugliemi at poole he took no prisoners on the track
  11. cant belive no one has mentioned southampton or exeter ,southampton was known as the wembley of the west an exceptional stadium and complex and exeter for sheer thrill value no where else comes near it in my eyes

  14. hmmm just read it maybe its true but last i heard he was in a jail in the united states but anyone who rides abroad then stops on the way home to buy a trophy to make out like hes won it takes a lot of beliving especially where gaz the cas is concerned!!!!
  15. replying to brian hamilton and bob bath the answer is yes on both counts there are 2 car parks on site plus two miles of roadside parking a 3 acre overflow car park next door and if all else fails approx 400 yrds from museum is bashley fc car park so plenty of parking space ,and bob bath we have at least 2 proffessional photographers on the day and a video company recording a dvd of the great day as well best wishes andy
  16. maybe forum readers may be able to shed some light on split watermans real 1st name for many years it has always been asumed it was squire but recentley someone showed me a speedway annual from the 1940s and there was a photo of a rider in germany riding forces speedway and the caption read wembleys new up and coming rider WALTER WATERMAN pictured riding in his army days any thoughts anyone??????

  20. today i recieved a phone call from stuart wallace ex saint and reading racer, informing me of the passing of tom misslebrook, tom was was one of the backroom boys at banister court (southampton) but is best remembered as the clerk of the course at the stadium. a true gent tom had been ill for some time ,the funeral has already taken place condolences to toms family and friends .ANDY SCOREY
  21. think you will find that the mystery faces are not strictly speedway riders but guys who promote our sport through showing bike at local shows etc in the picture i can spot in the back row tony day andy day nigel andrews and sid dowdy hope this clears up a few frowns
