  1. I think Kent will be very lucky like the rest to have any season to speak of. A regionalised 4 team tournament in the Championship with finals is the best we can hope for.
  2. Would agree with that you only get out of a track by the amount of effort put in by way of preparation over many hours.
  3. Sadly Uncle Len was only saying the other night that their was nothing wrong with the track and I very much doubt He would listen anyway. All I would say is you might well have a superior stadium at Central Park but we have a far superior racing circuit for the riders at Iwade just down the road.
  4. Well only tell the truth and the track is the main problem, coupled with the curfew is a sure fire disaster. At least a negotiated 15 minute extension with the council in the event of the ambulance coming on track should be sorted and in the first instance the air fence should be extended further round the exit of bend 1 by at least 3 sections. Going back to Canterbury days we used to have a 2 hour curfew, 18/20 heats of racing, nothing cut short, a 15 minute extension for an ambulance coming on track and 2 Ambulances always in attendance, nuff. said.
  5. Well I'm back on the track Staff now and am not at all impressed by having to re build the back straight fence every other heat. Almost entirely due to the track cambers which take the riders into the fence, totally wrong. If this is not rectified many more meetings will be cut short without a doubt and paying the extra pound this season to spectate is asking too much, thank god the club never moved up to the Championship, laughing stock would be an understatement.
  6. And where is Mr Cook going now with no Lakeside and He loves Championship standard racing ?
  7. No Len Silver is all for it and was trying to resolve the situation as He only stands to gain with more riders coming through for His NL side.
  8. Without doubt it is an insurance issue as the SCB use Doodsons as their approved Brokers and not the MCF as used by Sittingbourne ( Iwade). Little doubt the MCF does not meet approval with the SCB even though cover is equal too that from Doodsons and at a cheaper premium. I believe strings are still being pulled within the SCB to make things not happen at Iwade, this has been proved by Officials licences not being approved at the seminar at the meeting at Paradise park in February and cheque for payment of said Licenses not being cashed by the SCB. Little doubt this will rumble on to the point where Iwade will not be running in the League. Oh yes can anybody remember the Speedway Control Board and why suddenly it became the Bureau, it was a riders Insurance dispute that nearly went legal. I expect the ACU to alter more next winter and hopefully for the better.
  9. Despite the wonderful Speedway Star stating that Iwade will be entering into the Southern Development League ' at a later date' little has happened and without doubt the behind the scenes dispute between the SCB and Mr Arnold continues to the detriment of the sport. This cannot go on with a very well established training track for evermore. I have got a lot of time for Laurence Rogers and applaud his efforts for trying to establish the league in the South but this situation is not helping in any way shape or form. SCB get your act together and fast.
  10. If Hull is the City of Culture in 2017 and attracting large investment into the area where is the Speedway and is anybody interested in bringing it back, seems like it is now or never for the Vikings.
