  1. Ipswich CAN because they have money left over from Sky from 2010!!!! A 6 figure deal from Sky for each EL club each season is a lot of money! Now we know why EL clubs have been able to survive on poor crowds!!!
  2. If Lemon is not fit, then Bach will replace him as the Newcastle rep and Summers will also replace Lyons as Redcar's rep. Next in line going on averages are... Ricky Ashworth 8.17 Josh Auty 8.11 Jordan Frampton 8.02 If it's worked out on the next in line by averages for the last 2 places, then Ashworth and Auty will get them. But if the final 2 places are decided on the best 2nd heat leaders, then Ashworth and Frampton will get them. Anyone know for sure how it is worked out for last 2 places? Nothing against Auty, but I hoped it's work out by the latter, because having THREE Sheffield riders in the PLRC at Sheffield, will just make it a joke!! It's about time the PLRC was taken back to Coventry, on a neutral track!!
  3. I could have sent a personal email to David Hoggart instead of putting this on here, but if I am to get a reply, then ALL fans should be able to see it here and I know David comes on here. WHAT GESTURE OF GOODWILL IS GOING TO BE PAST ON TO THOSE FANS FROM THE TEAMS THAT GOT KNOCKED OUT IN THE SEMI'S AND HAVE NO REASON TO GO TO THE FINAL WHEN STAGED ????? We paid our £20 also and also missed out on another 12 heats. I would say at least 99% of those fans from Redcar,Edinburgh,Glasgow and Sheffield won't be going to the FINAL when it is staged, so do we lose out ? Surely it can't be one rule for one and another rule for others ?? Let's have some COMMON SENSE on this please!! Would it hurt the BSPA to give us Redcar,Edinburgh,Glasgow and Sheffield fans £5 OFF admission at the PLRC at Sheffield, as long as we produce our admission ticket from the Fours? After all, this is also a Super 7's event. Or is it just a case of 2 fingers up to these sets of supporters? DON'T TAKE US FANS FOR GRANTED AND LETS SEE SOME 'COMMON SENSE' PREVAIL HERE. I have read many posting's and heard other fans moan in person about the admission charge of £20 for the Super 7's events, but why moan? It can cost fans £15/£16 to watch 15 Heats of League Speedway. So I personally think that an extra £4/£5 for another extra 13 races is a good price to charge. Just my opinion! We don't hear fans complaining when Promoters at times leave normal admission prices in place when their own track puts on an Individual meeting of 20 Heats and charges no extra!!! The BSPA should have waited to see how the Leicester track settled and waited to see the outcome with Peterborough before naming the Venue. The venue did not have to be decided as early as it did. Naming the venue in May would have been OK. In an ideal world, only places like Peterborough, Sheffield, Somerset, King's Lynn, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Poole should be holding these type of meetings (all racers tracks with good facilities), but that's only my opinion. I may be wrong here and know it's nothing to do with the Fours, but I'm sure there is a new policy in for normal league meetings this season, where it depends on what heat an abandment takes place, determines how much money you get off at the next home meeting? For every heat after heat 8 (up to a certain heat?), you get so much off admission for the next home meeting and as each heat passes after heat 8, you get less of a reduction the next meeting.I've read it somewhere this season, that this is now the policy?
  4. God knows what's going on? I received my tickets in the post today. When I spoke to a woman on the phone on Wednesday, she said that the booking line 0116 235 0082 would also be open yesterday 2pm-8pm, also next tuesday (2nd) from 10am - 4pm and also next Thursday (4th) from 2pm - 8pm, with any remaining tickets being available on the day, so god knows whats happened now?! Also i asked for 2 Free child tickets and was told they don't send out tickets for the free children and just to turn up with them. So what happens if there's arounbd 1,000 children under the age of 11 turn up, are some of them going to be turned away? I don't think so. So to me the need of having to get our tickets early, wasn't really needed!! Let's face it, if Leicester have their say 2000 crowd and you then say 200 x 7 = 1400 for the other 7 clubs competing and you also add in around 300 neutrals from other tracks, then that's 3,700 and the capacity is 4500, i've been told and of those 7 other teams, I can't see them all bringing 200 fans along!
  5. I'd be very surprised if they weren't the same price as at the PL Pairs. You usually find that these Super 7 meetings have the same price for each one. Maybe it'll be different this season, but I can't see it!
  6. Yes it was October 2008 and It was a FARCE! As Team Manager of the Redcar Cubs that evening, I have never felt so let down in the sport and it felt like we had the trophy grabbed from us! Here are the FACTS, that I know of... We had a briefing before the meeting started, with the Referee, League co ordinator Peter Morrish and Stoke Promoter Dave Tattum. Dave told us all that they had a 9.30pm curfew, but allowing for the conditions, he would extend that time to 10pm and NO LATER! The racing should never had even started, but we where told that there was no other restaging date! We ( The Redcar Cubs ) where 3 points ahead of Weymouth after 4 heats of an 8 heat final, when in Heat 5 ( which started at 10pm! ) when leading, Scott James spun round and in the same crash, I think it was Mark Baseby who came down as well and he needed to visit the ambulance room and Scott also needed to have his wrist checked out. We where well in control and we still had our best 2 riders on the night to go in the last 2 races! The re run of Heat 5 saw Weymouth take the 3 points and draw level with Redcar. At this stage no one had mentioned to me anything about not racing all 8 heats. As the riders approached the tapes ready to start Heat 6, I was approached by someone, which I can't remember who, other than it wasn't an oficial, to say that was the final race of the night!!! Richard Lawson didn't even know it was a last heat decider! I'd already told Richard to just settle for 2nd place if he missed the gate, knowing we had our 2 best riders on the night going in the last 2 races. I was stopped from being allowed to ring the referee because by that time the riders where lined up at the starting line. I wasn't very happy one bit and I made this known. I couldn't help but feel this was something personal towards me or towards Redcar?! However I did the right thing and appraoched the Weymouth Riders and management and shaked all their hands and congratulated them and then I had to try and usher Redcar fans away from Weymouth riders and officials, because as you could understand feelings where running very high after we where robbed like that! This meeting should have being halted after Heat 4 of the final, when all riders had had 1 ride each. Also Heat 5 was started at 10pm, when we where told NO LATER than a 10pm finish! After the meeting the referee approached me and even told me that he had suggested at the beginning of the Final that a result should stand after HEAT 4, to be fair to all teams. The suggestion wasn't accepted by Dave Tattum and there you have it!! This meeting still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and it still angers me when i think about it!! The CL/NL fours has always not being given the recognition it deserves. It either runs or doesn't and when it does it turns in to a Farce! I'm sure someone up above didn't want the Cubs to win anything that season?! We had this, we also had the Pairs title in the bag until Simon Lambert passed Scott James on bends 3 and 4 of the 3rd lap in the final and then we had the snapped chain at the start line on Aaron Summers bike, when we only wanted a 2nd place to be in the Play Off Final! Though we at least celebrated having the Riders Champion, in Benji Compton! I would sum that season up as being Very Unlucky, Let Down , Lacked a lot of support, but we had fun a long the way! 7. Hi Sarah.

Is it true that the BSG are not organising a Xmas Party this year like they have before?

If there's isn't one organised, then I am going to approach Brian Havelock about me organising one, to raise some money for the club. I don't want to tread on anyone's toes here, but I'd rather see Redcar Speedway have a Christmas Part than not have one.

  8. Condolences to Ray and the Family. Even though we never met, she sounds like she was a lovely lady to know. The family are in my thoughts. Jason Pipe
  9. Sent Chris a well done text message and he has just replied saying... " It was great, everything went smooth and I'm over the moon" Well done Chris. Brilliant. You deserved this win. You are now starting to get your rewards!! Jason Pipe
  10. Chris got a new 2 year Visa at the beginning of this season so he will be back in the PL in 2010 !
  11. Unfortunately Chris wasn't/isn't a contracted Redcar rider, so it wasn't the consortiums decision to let him go. I'm sure they wanted to keep Chris but with him being a Wolverhampton rider and also with Ty Proctor doubling up with Wolverhampton along with Chris, they had to make sure that at least 1 of them was available at the time of the Wolves fixtures. Had they both rode for Redcar then neither would have been available for Wolves fixtures on the same days the bears where/are riding. This is the reason why Chris Kerr wasn't back at Redcar this season.
  12. Richard Lawson replaces Scott James for Redcar. With Rich currently averaging 8.61 from 7 meetings and being a very good gater, I'm sure he will surprise a few on the night!
