  1. Rider of the year - Robert Lambert Most impressive team - Somerset Rebels Team rider of the season - Robert Lambert One to watch - Robert Lambert Bulldog award (Best British rider) - Robert Lambert Meeting of the season - Poole v Somerset (Play-Off) Surprise of the season - Robert Lambert. 9+ average unexpected with his very much improved gating. Underperformers (Team) - Swindon Robins Unluckiest rider - Sefan Nielsen Newcomer of the season - Frederik Jakobsen as no other options
  2. The best meetings at Lynn in recent history have been when Buster leaves the track alone. Slick track and allow a build up of dirt on the outside. All to often he's grading the dirt back down to the inside. I still say though, a change in the shale for Speedway is an absolute must.
  3. First thing I'd do is try different material. The huge stones in the shale is fine for Stockcars as it protects the track but it's awful for Speedway. Remember this too, but imo Buster should have 2 different suppliers. One for Stockcars and one for Speedway
  4. Whether the track is grippy or slick it's exactly the same. No racing. The racing has been dire for a long time and without Robert Lambert's races from the back there's nothing worth watching. The poor racing has nothing to do with the rider's. Jorgensen, Riss, MPT and of course Robert Lambert are racers. It is the track which comes down to the delusional owner. For me, Buster is dragging the club down and needs to step aside full time. Put the Speedway up for rent and allow the King's Lynn Stars to get back to where it should be.
  5. Iversen will be 37 next season. The expectations of the invincible Iversen in British Speedway are over. Still class at times but duff meetings are to be expected. Iversen in 2019 will do well to maintain his current average of 7.36 imo.
  6. Has to be Harry Redknapp and his son Jamie. One is excellent at getting a deal done by any means and the other is excellent at cheating
  7. Agree Agree and disagree. The cut-off should be the 31st August. If any of the teams haven't completed their fixtures and they are in a Play-Off position, they should be expelled from the Play-Offs. Allowing a team to maintain a Play-Off position while not completing their fixtures will give teams reasons to not complete them. If there's 8 teams, top 3 and the bottom club are the only ones to complete their fixtures then that bottom club is then promoted to a Play-Off spot.
  8. If the Premiership goes to 6 the team average should remain the same at least at 42.5. 1. Robert Lambert 9.31 2. Hans Andersen 7.56 3. Niels K Iversen 7.36 4. Ty Proctor 6.57 5. Eric Riss 6.08 6. Lewis Kerr 5.62 Ave 42.47
  9. Sensational is a bit ott. For someone who's had a good majority of the season at reserve, a 5.65 average (5.75 home, 5.22 away) is just average. It's comments like that that shows Stars fans have gone a little delusional. MPT on a 5.65 average will not be a reserve for anyone and will again be shown as just average.
  10. People need to understand that Individuals are dead. Fans get bored and rider's just ain't interested in them unless there's a huge pot of gold to be had.
  11. Individual meetings are a thing of the past. Pride of the East at King's Lynn has been gone for years. Ipswich 16 Lapper dropped this year. Ben Fund cancelled due to lack of rider's. These meetings have had their day and most established rider's just ain't interested
  12. Even with how Harris performed at Poole, I don't think they'll be enough room for him. Poole will no doubt have C.Holder, Kurtz, Klindt and Jakobsen. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them recall J.Holder too.
  13. Imagine there will be a good number of this year's team in the 2019 side if rules remain at least the same, as a good number of Premiership club owners want. If the rules are the same, the only rider likely to not return is Iversen with his GP programme. Although Lambert has said he wants a return we'll have to wait and see as he may over commit himself, especially if an (very likely) injury happens to rider's in the GP. 1. Robert Lambert 9.31 2. Erik Riss 6.08 3. Ty Proctor 6.57 4. Lewis Kerr 5.62 5. Chris Harris 7.09 6. Kasper Andersen 4.00 7. Stefan Nielsen 3.67 Ave: 42.34
  14. Perfect, every meeting is a Play-Off meeting and then, to determine who is the winner of the Play-Offs, the team that draws the shortest straw. Think we've nailed it lads
  15. I know it's far more complicated but I'd worked the values at worst possible. There will never be a team to average 75 point. Probably never average over 50. So to include bonus points, if you say 55 point average you'll only need 917 full paying adults. So, with no averages teams can be more strength in depth, less admission costs and all bills covered confidently. One of the most important things should be to introduce a wage cap and the removal of the chairman and vice-chairman.
  16. I think dropping averages in the Premiership will allow for better control of wages. Every rider can come in on a fixed wage from 1-7. The most points that can possible be paid home and away is 105 (75+15 bonus points). Obviously that won't be reached by any team but you have to work with the absolute possibility. £250 per point = £26,250 £15 admission for over 21 £10 admission for 16-20 Free Under 16 1750 over 21's will break even. Working on those values, along with sponsorships other overheads should be able to be covered. Also, tac subs when 8 behind All rider's must complete a minimum of 2 rides. Maximum number of rides is 6 Every team must have a minimum of 3 British rider's, 1 of which must be under 21. The Championship to be average capped to 45 and wages capped to £100 per point, 4 rider's minimum must be British with 2 under 21.
  17. Poole wasn't the only team to benefit from Rye's misfortune. Summers gave Somerset extra strength at reserve which almost paid off but for Holder's injury. Let's be honest, Harris is on a huge slide in the Speedway world. Poole did well to get a tune out of Harris at all.
  18. Drabik must feel a little hard done by not getting at least one of the reserve spots in the GP's, unless he turned them down of course?
  19. Not bitter towards the team, only the management as I've said. Will continue to follow the team away from home. I've never said MPT wasn't missed. But he simply isn't the reason we went trophyless. Have the best home and away record doesn't tell the whole story. Statistically, on a head to head basis (which the Play-Offs are) we are actually a pretty poor side. The facts don't lie. This is where we became unstuck. Our team as a team actually wasn't all that when it came to knock out. What of that isn't easy to understand?? When you work out all the statistics on every team, man for man, as a team, home v away etc the table is very different. We actually finish 3rd. Top 2 are Poole and Belle Vue and Belle Vue 4th. As I said, King's Lynn making the finals was about right. Statistics show that head to head, even with full 1-7's King's Lynn were not at the same level as Poole or Somerset. Statistics can not be denied. Where King's Lynn lost out was at No7, and no back up to Robert Lambert. During league meetings, to remain in the fixtures R.Lambert rode 90% of our TR's. You can't get away from the fact that for a team to finish top of the league and have an away average of less than 39 is pretty poor and that how we never got over the line in the knock out competitions. MPT being missing didn't mean titles were in the bag. Head to head we are a weaker side than both Poole and Somerset. As statistics show we ended up on the losing side. When it comes to the team I try to be meaningful rather than bias. Straight up honesty.
  20. Where's that come from? Most we went unbeaten was 7. 3 of those was an injury ravaged Wolverhampton team double header, Leicester away so not really an impressive run. Either side of our run of wins, apparently as "the in form team" we went to both Poole and Somerset and scored 29 points. Yes we had guests at Somerset but 29 points, REALLY?? The 2 main rivals in both competitions at the business end of the season we fell short. MPT is not the reason we didn't win the league or KO Cup. As a team we weren't good enough and it's unbelievable how delusional Stars fans became about the team we had. Against good sides our middle order disappeared. MPT only had 1 exceptional meeting against an injury ravaged Belle Vue. No great shakes hey? Stars fans, really look back through the season and you'll see we were fortunate to finish top. We were fortunate to face an injured Belle Vue side in the Play-Off semi-final. Some say I'm over the top with my criticism of the team. I'm not at all, just see the bigger picture. Review with an open mind. I'm only highly critical of the management team. King's Lynn had a very very fortunate end to the season meeting badly injured and poor teams. Making the finals was about right over the season as a whole. Facing both Poole and Somerset, we were up against it whether we had a full team or not. To put things into perspective, our away average is 38.86. Home average of 49.01. Gap of -4.26 points So, on a knock out format we average a defeat. Poole 48.23 (h) Poole 40.85 (a) Gap of -1.84 Over the season Poole were the stronger team head to head and justify their league title regardless of league position.
  21. Speedway lacks passing as it is, throw rider's out for unintentional injuries will just encourage 15 heats of gating and just ride in the middle of the track. It was purely a racing incident and nothing else. If any finger are to be pointed, it should be the management for inadequate guests, not the opposition.
  22. If you want a team to win the league by any means possible, in 2018 King's Lynn take that honour. Poole kept their noses pretty clean in 2018 and I think that's why Middleditch put this down to one of his greatest league title wins. There's nothing that can be pointed at them. King's Lynn can be thanked for instigating the use of Morris in the 2nd leg over the points limit. Poole won the title in 2018 fair and square, they should be congratulated. King's Lynn proved in the KO Cup just how weak they are in the middle order and reserve. Injuries were not an excuse for Poole winning, again proven by their KO Cup final performances. If a reserve is used as an excuse it just proves how poor the team is as a whole. MPT being missing isn't the reason King's Lynn ended up without a trophy. Middle order to weak, 2nd reserve to weak, and the management clueless.
  23. You know full well that King's Lynn caused the situation. When King's Lynn announced Ellis the whole forum went into meltdown about how embarrassing it would make the sport look by having a guest appear for 2 different teams in a final. Blame is only at the door of the King's Lynn management for the whole debacle of the Play-Offs.
  24. That doesn't surprise me with regards to Iversen. If it felt like he was making a statement he probably was. That's why during the Play-Offs I'm not buying the injury nonsense for the home leg. I firmly believe that Iversen was purposely stepped down to stop Poole using in form Ellis at the AFA. The Stars management tried to play games and it back fired. The choice of guests has been nothing short of abysmal too and strange that both Poole and Somerset managed to get it right. I'm not having availability nonsense either as other teams haven't had that problem. With regards to the track and the racing, it doesn't surprise me that it's still gate and go. The only way that will change is if Buster moves aside. The man is delusional so will never happen in the near future. With regards to Allitt, I'm not sure about stepping him down. I don't blame him at all. Unfortunately, every man at King's Lynn has to be a yes man to Buster, hence Rob Lyon stepped down as manager. His differing views were not to Buster's liking so was moved on. The problems at King's Lynn are firmly down to one man and one man only. He is single handily destroying the club and he has a personality that he feel untouchable. Yes, some say King's Lynn have had a good season by finishing top of the table. Numbers wise they have but racing wise has there been an exceptional meeting to watch? Have you been given value for money? Think of the fuel spent, admission costs, spend at the outlets at the stadium, food to and from the meetings etc. That should be the question Stars fans genuinely ask themselves. For me, as a Stars fan I'll continue to pick and choose meetings away from home. Far more enjoyable than anything that happens at the AFA.
  25. We don't always bottle big fixtures, we don't get to many big fixtures to claim we always bottle them
