  1. Don't think that's true at all, the Pole's certainly wouldn't stand for regular gate and go racing. That sounds like making excuses for how bad King's Lynn is. Totally disagree with Tree's too, saying a lot of UK tracks are like King's Lynn.
  2. Glad to see you admit racing isn't great at the AFA. It's certainly not right and to expect fans to just except gate and go though. The sport is going through a tough time so the absolute most important thing for a promoter to do is put on a track that doesn't suit gating. With the team put together the track needs to be adaptive with racers like Lambert, Riss, Jorgensen and MPT. Gate and go doesn't suit the side that's been put together. It's awful to think that Speedway fans are now happy to just see a team win with gate and go. What is the point of even watching Speedway if that's the expectation??
  3. And they wouldn't of topped the table had Kerr and Andersen remained in the team. With them back in the side and no Iversen this team is horrendous. In terms of departments that is the No1 (Lambert), No3 (Riss) and No5 (Proctor). We look horrid, especially in the all important 2nd half of meetings. No2 (Kerr) and No4 (Jorgensen) is terrible. No6 (Toft) and No7 (Andersen) is very weak, probably asking Toft to 6-7 heats a meeting. It is not a well organised team. In all 3 departments of the team it looks like we're looking to have 3 rider's deliver week in week out in Lambert, Jorgensen and MPT.
  4. And people are ignoring the fact that the teams fortunes in 2018 only turned around when Kerr and Andersen were replaced. They're back in the team, with no Iversen as heatleader backup. This team is seriously lacking in all departments.
  5. He's being sarcastic for a second time. Playground backchat type response. He's saying Swindon are a bigger farce than anything King's Lynn are doing. As a track photographer, he's not likely to have a bad word about King's Lynn, is he?
  6. Jonathan Chapman's idea which continued while Rob Lyon was present. Once Rob went the supporters meetings stopped and remained that way ever since. So that buck firmly stops at Keith's door.
  7. I'm not sure but I believe it's one of the reasons Buster purchased the field across the stadium. Stock pits will go on the main carpark and the field will be for spectators. Not sure that will be a problem currently though right now in this current economic climate.
  8. The back straight carpark has never belonged to the stadium. It's not just the raising costs Buster needs to complain about, that carpark was (and still is) earmarked for the town's park and ride system. I'm sure it'll now be a while before park and ride is back on the agenda with footfall in all town centres on a rapid decline.
  9. Far kin hell. £1 to park, £18 to get in, £3 for a programme, £1 to sit down. £23 for the tripe served up a King's Lynn, what a bargain
  10. Just looked around all the online press releases and can't find it mentioned??
  11. It's near on £25 to sit at Belle Vue isn't it?
  12. £20 now of you want to park your car and sit in the (not so) grandstand.
  13. He's got to get his money back feom Peterborough and Ipswich somewhere. May as well dump it on his long serving loyal supporters. Things are really done in an abysmal manor when it comes to Keith Chapman. He's determined to drive people away from the sport
  14. That reads a bit like tongue in cheek and a parting shot to me. Coming from an out going promoter who has regularly spoken out about the decreasing strength of the British top flight. It may be sincere but the two have had regular parting shots at each other the last 3-4 seasons.
  15. I think the racesuit has been a bit of a flop for the sport personally. It's embarrassing seeing clubs showing their team off and all the rider's look different anyway. Each rider gets theirs made by their preferred manufacturer so they never match up. Might aswell just use race bibs.
  16. The way you have to look aþ the King's Lynn team is, what will it be like if Lambert gets injured?!? Guests are pretty much none existent with teams riding fixed race night's and certainly no rider on the continent will come in as a replacement, especially anyone as good anyway. King's Lynn have put a team together that is totally reliant on one man. This team without Lambert would struggle against a Championship side.
  17. Not necessarily true though is it. We can't compare last to this season due to different rider's. Even with all the pre-season training in 2018 we were a dire team until Riss, Palm-Toft and S.Lambert came in and only then did thing's change. These 3 didn't have access to pre-season yet improved on those that did. Not a good advert. Yet again, the predicted line-up looks awful compared to other sides. If this team stays together and finishes top 4 they've had a great season. If we have to go down the route of 2+ changes again in 2019, what exactly is the point of this training programme?? It's money wasted imo as it's not benefiting the club at all when half the pre-season trained rider's don't complete the year.
  18. It does, but you asked what the promotions debt is. Speedway debt is around the £70,000 - £80,000. It's more than the bond and in total own over £100,000.
  19. £100,000+. That is the owners whole debt, including the stupid MX track installation etc
  20. The debt owed by the Rye House promotion was way above the Bond amount. The standard rate allows the BSPA to split the amount owed evenly for all 7 rider's. A bar has to be set somewhere. Would you think it's fair if a No1 is owed £50,000 and a No7 owed £2,000, should the No7 miss out because the No1 takes all the Bond?!? I'm not sure but, Bomber's the only Rye rider I've seen saying he's owed money.
  21. There's only one way to get kids interested in Speedway. Every club should send their team manager and club captain to secondary schools around their local areas. Bikes on show and clips of the racing, crashes and also embrace the subject of injuries and death within the sport. Students will fully embrace the rough side of the sport as this is what will get them interested with their youthful, fearless mentality. Then also every student should be given a full, in depth letter and usb stick with the same presentation that can be shown to the parents. Within this, a free training school voucher so any brave parent can allow their adolescent to experience just how tough this sport really is. Only this way will the sport get back to the full stadium days and keep Speedway alive for decades to come. It's the only way to get the young to understand and appreciate just how tough and exciting this sport can be. Taking a student to a meeting where there's no racing, no crashes etc will put them off for life. They need to understand the hard side of the sport, it'll gets their juices flowing.
  22. The NSS is an exception to the rule but unfortunately the new stadium has come along 20 years to late for the sport
  23. The reason for the decline for me is the sport no longer has anything left for the supporters to get ramped up about. The whole working man's aspect has disappeared. Rider punch ups, deliberate fencing, aggressive racing, argumentative managers with referee's etc. It's all gone. The sport is to clean cut, rider's all mate's. No passing is attempted much unless an easy opportunity presents itself. For the supporters, more often than not you part with your hard earned, listen to abysmal centre green presentation, abysmal music, abysmal processional racing, abysmal atmosphere but people claim £17-£18 is cheap for a "professional" sport?!?!? The sport currently, is so abysmal, many wouldn't part with a £1 on a weekly basis with the extra costs of meeting day fuel, food and drink etc. British Speedway is in an absolute quagmire and there's absolutely no chance of a fix. British Speedway is 'bleeding out' and waiting for it's last breath to be taken. I firmly now believe that the promoters know then end is coming and are intentionally winding down the sport until it's completely unviable. Clubs are now closing as buyers are impossible to come by. I think we just have to get into the mind set for the inevitable. Those that still get enjoyment will continue, those that don't will never return, that's where we are, the point of no return folks.
  24. Isn't this media exposure idea to get people to a track rather than just looking for someone's name in the results?? I assume it's The Star or Mirror who regularly have a Speedway peice at least once a week, so not really working for the sport is it
  25. Don't think that's a very fair assessment at all. Scunthorpe is regularly suggested as delivering on the quality of racing. Think you're right with regards Godfrey himself, alongside Chapman this sport has no hope. In terms of racing the Scunthorpe punters at least get something worth watching in terms of value for money compared to King's Lynn.
