This thread should be all about how Poole are small fry, big club in a small pond and how they lack ambition. These are the phrases Shovlar constantly came up with about Championship Speedway in the past

Fans here have this misconceptions that GP / top Ekstraliga riders should find it easy going, an easy pay cheque in the British Premiership. It's nonsense. I can guarantee even Zmarzlik would find it tough to average over 9. It's a tough league, the only thing against it is that we can't afford the top guys, or we can but you'd be paying £30-£40 on the gate every 2 weeks

Pedersen isn't the rider he was but capable of still sticking it to most of the leagues No1 & 5's though. Message to all rider's though; don't try and pass him round the outside

I think the flow of the meetings is a major thing. There's far more of 'nothing going on' than actual racing'. Obviously there are the usual things like crashes that can stall a meeting but there are other means to quicken up the flow of racing. Getting rider's on track: always be a heat ahead, i.e. at the start of the meeting after parade etc the rider's for heat 1 & 2 come out. Heat 2 rider's sit on the centre ready. When Heat 1 is complete and those riders are on there way back to the pits, the rider's for heat 3 sit in the centre etc etc. Time allowance: The 2 mins are on automatically when the last rider from the previous heat crosses the line. Like GP's, have to be ready to race when the 2 mins clock is 0. 2 rides on the trot: If a rider has 2 heat consecutive they must ride their spare bike and be ready in the 2 mins of the previous heat finishing. If they have no spare bike, then a team mates has to be used. Track grading: This can only take place after heats 4, 8 and 12. Heat 15: Rider's are nominated for Heat 15 by the team manager when Heat 13 is completed. These are small things but then at least the bikes are on track at all times.

I don't think King should be anywhere near the GB side anymore, had his chance.

Again, another Speedway equivalent. Excellent quality, great value for money but many refuse to try it as it's at the lowest level of the rung. People don't like to be seen buying cheap as it makes them feel inferior.

Agree, Cadbury's just give me a constant headache these days. Stick to Galaxy now, can't be beaten. Unlike Speedway, it offers good value for money. Cadbury's has turned into the Speedway equivalent, lower the standards and charge more for it.

Real pleased this was a good meeting with plenty of on track entertaining racing. So it begs the question, what was the difference to a regular Stars meeting that are generally a borefest?? Was the track prep different at all?? Standard of rider on offer racing against a similar calibre each heat??

It's relevant in that the idea has come about because fans, promoters etc get frustrated that they're unable to keep their title winning 7 for continuity. If the team building average is allowed to be (for example) 46.78 and the title winning team makes 3 changes, these changes would only be made, in the main, because they have more chance of increasing their individual average over the rider's from the previous season. This then would make it even more difficult for the chasing pack to build a team that would be competitive. In principle the idea is ok but the reality will be very different. Sticking to a set team average of 42.50 or 45.00 make far more sense.

If that is the case, then 42.50 is sufficient.

I'm not convinced this is a good idea at all. The reason I'd say is that the idea is to keep the same 1-7? If that's the case then Swindon's team would be in trouble as I don't see a great deal of improvement average wise in their team so would end up stagnant. While every other team are able to strengthen significantly that it would put Swindon in danger of not making the play-offs at all. If Swindon are allowed to sign whoever they like up to last seasons average then wouldn't that defeat the objective of allowing teams averages to be set by the title winning team so that they can keep the same 7?? If the latter is the case, we may as well stick with the 42.50

This move is perfect for a none attending Speedway fan like me. Certainly won't be watching any meetings live and will just watch the highlights. Most TV meeting are abysmal and a drain to watch live with significant numbers switching off before a meeting is finished as they're so bad. If a high number of Pole's do decide to check out what the fuss is all about, it will be a very embarrassing moment for British Speedway imo.

While 10 weeks is to short a season, 20 week season would be a realistic target. What is baffling, especially in the Premiership is the lack of fixtures in July & August. The months kids are off school and more free family time the Speedway season seems to go into shutdown. If anything, the BSPA needs to make these two months in the year are jam packed with fixtures.

Very likely for British Speedway meetings, Pearson and Tatum will be included in the TV package. BSPA will want to look after Pearson especially as he does and awful lot of groundwork for them.

Proctor on a 4.30 is good value. Will easily add to that next year. I'd say Lambert and Cook are certs and we should build around those two. For me, Jørgensen & MPT havn't done enough and will be very weak No2 & No4's. 1. Lambert 7.81 2. 6.00 3. Riss 6.61 4. 6.00 5. Cook 7.78 6. Proctor 4.30 7. Nicol 4.00 42.5 I'd say that's where we need to be, 2 fresh faces in the middle order with away meetings in mind would be very solid.

Obviously many will have other options but as Robert Lambert's injury seemed to put a break on his 2019 season, I believe it will mean we will get another year out of him at the AFA. There are suggestions that he may not be asked back by Lublin as they've been disappointed with his performances. Obtaining only a 3.48 average. The quality of rider matters. If the line-up consists of Simon Lambert, Doolan, Jorgensen etc absolutely, only a minimal amount of fans will turn up. With the original Pride of the East meetings we had the best of the best and fans used to pack out Saddlebow Road from up and down the country. The only way for the Pride of the East to ever pack out again it has to consist of the world's best. A full field of GP standard or at least Polish Exstraliga rider's with huge financial reward. Anything less, nobody cares feom rider's or fans.

I thought the same but he accepted a guest offer. Maybe bridges have been rebuilt. Rory is an exceptional team man and everywhere he goes he makes sure team spirit is in abundance. I'd have Rory in at a drop of a hat, good home and away. Rory would bring stability, he'd be my first signing.
