  1. Time to scrap the Play-Offs. They're no longer drawing in the crowds.
  2. Nope, it's now greyfield under Labour definition. Either way, it'll have houses on it. 90% certain under this government.
  3. It seems you still have the planning mindset from a Conservative government. Council regulations & requirements are null & void. Labour has made it loud & clear that any council that blocks a developers plan they will review & grant themselves. The Showground is now under the banner of Grey Belt, wasteland, derelict. Grey belt development: Creating a new category called “grey belt”, which would prioritise development in “grey and ugly areas of the green belt”. Labour stated that “wastelands and old car parks located on the green belt” should not receive “the same protections in national policy as rolling hills and nature spots in the green belt”.
  4. It was about a 30% chance of survival under a Conservative government. It's now 100% no chance under Labour. Quota is out the window, with the now Greybelt added as certain home building ground, Peterborough Panthers at the Showground is over.
  5. The majority don't. British Speedway as a whole is down to about 20,000-25,000 a week watching trackside these days. It's not been serious for 20+yrs & not professional since Sky dropped it.
  6. If King's Lynn run next year, their best chance of top 4 is to just sign 4 permanent rider's and go with 3 guests. History has proven going with a full 7 guarantees bottom 2
  7. I think the comparison isn't far off the mark. The very difference is rider's like Crump, Gollob, Rickardsson, Hamill, Sullivan etc would relish the challenge. Today, there's nobody out there up for the fight with Zmarzlik. Most just move out his way. Speedway is still dangerous of course but the SGP series has definitely gone soft vs 10+ years ago
  8. One of the beat & most exciting rider's to ever grace the sport. No shame for Nicki P to feel.
  9. Absolutely, but the landscape of the sport is very different. The world's very best now only need to be throttle jockeys. For our youth today, the standards the club sets & track size are very important to a rider's future. Plying your trade in this game at a small track in 2024 & beyond will do the youth no good whatsoever for their future aspirations. Small tracks are for the exceptional & experienced decliners
  10. Absolutely not. Lambert’s improvement went up levels after leaving British Speedway. Riding in the Elitserien was his turning point
  11. I'd only not advise Ipswich to a young Brit purely because of their track. Poland is the pinnacle of the sport, small tracks are ideal for experienced rider's in today's sport.
  12. They're still wearing King's Lynn bibs riding for King's Lynn at King's Lynn you absolute melt.
  13. Absolutely, but being in & around a negative / uncompetitive surroundings with slow progression. Anders needs to be in a well run club that wants to win. If I was advising any young rider today, I'd be pushing for them to get in at Belle Vue or Sheffield.
  14. There would be serious competition for Rowe's signature in 25. In my option, I can't see why Rowe would stay at King's Lynn. Surely he'd want to be with a competitive team next year, for his own development. Sheffield, Ipswich & Belle Vue would be mad not to try & tempt him, the best No7 out there now.
  15. Finally, Bewley got involved with Zmarzlik and didn't bottle it. Hopefully he's shown the way to the rest for future rounds.
  16. There is. Basso can ride every day of the week everywhere except for King's Lynn & UK Speedway until 2nd September. It's up to him.
  17. It's been beyond saving for 10 years. Speedway is like WWE, just entertainment, even that's become a stretch. It's not a serious sport, hasn't been since Sky dropped it.
  18. Supping up those tears. Ipswich not winning the league because of Buster, oh no, what a shame BWAHAHAHAHAAAA
  19. It's totally irrelevant because King's Lynn have a 28 day facility. Basso & King's Lynn can do as they please for 28 days from the 5th August. No bans can be introduced once a facility has been granted. Absolutely nothing to see here, neeeeext.
  20. Why would anyone want to turn up & watch that King's Lynn team. Horrific
  21. I think King's Lynn should take a risk on some untried Championship rider's, there may be a gem in there. The season's fak'd anyway, there's nothing to lose.
