  1. Great track that deserved top league status but unfortunately took the jump to early. Don't think it was just being in the top league that was the downfall, something wasn't quite right with the Hancocks, they always talked a good game but always gave the impression they'd sell the land eventually for huge profits
  2. Don't forget team sponsorship can net anywhere between £70,000 - £100,000 a season. It's quite possible Guy Nicholls would go beyond that.
  3. I think a lot of fans don't understand the costs of a top class rider. Jason Doyle won't be far behind those numbers & Ipswich chasing Emil who also will be on or close to those numbers. £650 per point based on a just over 9 average isn't such an unreasonable demand for such high quality is it??
  4. Been many times thanks, home & away. Even the U21s & Women's game. Just can't lower my standards enough to go to Monmore Green ay'it
  5. Yep, just as shocked as you to see that name appearing. Didn't he have a horrendous crash, can't fully remember.
  6. You have one of your own in Shovlar who jettisoned Swindon
  7. I find it strange that some fans happily support other clubs just because it's where they live. Moved from King's Lynn to Wolverhampton, absolutely no way I'd watch regular meetings here just for a Speedway fix. I just don't get it
  8. It's the same for every team though, 1 or 2 injuries & every club is screwed
  9. Oh yes, of course, no club needs £52,000 to help with cost, I'm sorry for the inconvenient posting
  10. there's not 1 promoter wanting to be a loser He hasn't played this game before, life can come at you fast, especially in Speedway
  11. So many factors for a new owner. Would have to pay Buster some £'s Would have to pay Showground owners some £'s All before turning a wheel. Then having to cover signing on fees for the likes of Iversen, Holder & supposedly Tungate also asking a decent fee, waiting for season ticket sales isn't that 'out there' to consider when building a team.
  12. A financially sensible way, certainly not odd. Season ticket salea could be the difference between, for example, signing Andersen or Tungate & Holder or Barker. Personally, that's sensible management
  13. Which would suggest sales haven't been as expected. May be the team they announce is on the basis of season ticket sales as this is what sets the figures to pay signing on fees. They may have 3 teams in the background all associated with season ticket sales??
  14. Correct, & another rider should have been today, so why not?? Somethings changed?? Would that not be classed as a delay?? Edit: To be fair, the Panthers announcements have been Saturday's, so no dwlay as yet
  15. With all these team announcement delays you just know Hans Andersen, Scott Nicholls, Ben Barker etc are the likely incomings & not Holder, Pedersen, Tungate, Iversen etc
  16. Gary Glitter could be out by February, he'll go down well with the kids
  17. Some would say it doesn't mean all that much but Chris Holder's Aussie Champs form is pretty dreadful considering the line-up.
  18. You know you don't have to be their to form an opinion. Racing at the AFA hasn't been great for 10+ years. You only have to read on here, Updates & Social Media that the racing isn't good. There's been about 1 heat every couple of meetings cause a stir in excitement & it's always the same rider's, Pickering or Jorgensen. Hopefully this season will be a little better as we have 4 racers from the off so the racing could improve, but the track prep also has to be better than recent history, i.e. leave the dirt on the outside & stop dragging back to the curb every three / four heats. It should have been the NSS, EoES & OGS if it had to be 3 tracks.
  19. The biggest shame is it's probably the 3 worst tracks in the league chosen
  20. Just for a chuckle, promoters up & down the league would go into meltdown 1. Niels Kristian Iversen 7.59 2. Benjamin Basso 6.81 3. Artem Laguta 6.00 4. Emil Sayfutdinov 6.00 5. Chris Holder 7.16 6. Ben Cook 4.06 7. Jordan Jenkins (RS) Ave: 37.62
  21. Surely Ippo fans would take it, no?? 1. Jason Doyle 10.32 2. Erik Riss 6.00 3. Emil Sayfutdinov 6.00 4. Richie Worrall 6.15 5. Danny King 6.41 6. Keynan Rew 4.00 7. Jack Thomas (RS) Total: 38.88
