  1. After watching the clip of both incidence I would have excluded Nicholls on both occasions. In the first run theres nothing wrong with what either rider was doing. The fact that Nicholls pick up coming out of turn 2 warranted his exclusion. (Pause clip on 19 & 52 secs) Nicholls exclusion all day long. In the 2nd run THJ just got the edge on Nicholls for the run to the corner and Nicholls turns his bike way to early down the straight to intentionally hit THJ (Pause clip on 1.43 & 2.00 mins) On both occasions Nicholls should have been excluded
  2. On a serious note fellas, how many do turn up to the NL meetings. I've only been a couple of times and both I'd estimate about 200ish.
  3. This press release looks utter twaddle. No way is there any intention of bringing Webster back into the side later on. Seeing as you've re-declared the team, Webster can't be fitted into the side full stop. Priest will have to up his average for Webster to get his spot back but if Priest does that then there's no point in bring Webster back as there's no way that Kurtz, Newman, Atkin & Jones will be dropped. So basically, he's out of the team barring injuries and surely the boys career isn't gonna be held up for that.
  4. That would mean 3 riders from every team not getting a ride until the league fixtures starting. Can't see that at all
  5. Rob chose the right time. I just don't understand people saying he made a mistake. Here's the thinking. Harris was on the most form & most trusted rider we had yesterday. He was the only rider we could trust to get race wins. Harris was only ever going to be the rider to get the Joker ride. There would be no logic at all in taking the Joker ride in your own programmed ride. He may have scored the 6 points but that would have meant that Stead would have rode in that heat and no doubt scored 0 himself as he was awful. Tactical thinking is simple (and quite a few just can't grasp it). 1, Use your strongest rider 2, Only use it in a Tac Sub ride 3, Replace the weakest rider 4, Use it in the strongest gate position After all the above, THE TEAM made the right choice, Harris chose the wrong set up. Not blaming him as he didn't lose on purpose, s**t happens and all that.
  6. Agree. Why do we British always aim for a losers medal????? The only rider to say they're there to win was Harris and he had a stormer of a meeting.
  7. Me personally thinks he's GOD in World Speedway, let alone just Poland. He may never have won and possibly never will win a World Championship but in my life time he's the greatest speedway rider to grace this beautiful planet.
  8. I think we done bloody well today. We may have come outside a medal position but to only finish 11 points behind the winners is some achievement in my eyes as I certainly wasn't expecting to be that close
  9. I think the boys are doing amazing stuff so far. After such a poor start to still being in it after 15 heats is excellent. Lyon just needs to wake Steady up and we could do OK.
  10. Simon isn't replacing Jake as only NL guests allowed for Mills & Mallett. Lambert doesn't qualify as he's a PL rider. Has to be guesting for someone else. What the hell is going on?????
  11. I pull you up on that. I think they can see the bigger picture, and it's getting bigger every week. It'll be the pictures of their own ass's with their heads up them, in Shovlar's case, they will be in 3D also
  12. That's what he ment I'm sure, an air fence at Rye I believe would make it more dangerous
  13. I shall try to explain. This question has come up so often and it has nothing to do with the Chapman's not wanting an air fence, they have no one to put it up. We bought Oxfords old air fence when they folded to be used in all speedway events. Because they have stockcars most weekends and other events during the week the air fence could only be put up on race day and taken down on race day. On Monday, yes it was Peterborough's air fence and they had about a crew of 10 to erect it and take it down. To put it up took about 3-4 hours & took it down in about 2 hours. Our promotion on several occasions has asked for 10 volunteers to put up the air fence on race days and they could only get, off the top of my head, 4 to put it up but they couldn't make it every week and 2 to take it down (I offered my services for both). They even advertised in the local paper to asking for help and got nothing. They spent around £10k on a pissing air fence they couldn't use. I believe also that there is / was a rule that once a team uses an air fence at a league event it must be used at all times or face fines. Which, obviously our club couldn't commit to that. The promotion isn't to blame for this, I blame the KL fans who gob off at every occasion that we should have an air fence then can't be ass'd when helps required.
  14. I don't agree. I think Lindgren only managed 4th to 1st because Ward & Woffinden where well aware that all they had to do was beat each other and that's what they'd try to do. When you watch that heat again they where watching & trying to knock spots off each other
  15. Shazzybird, I wasn't anywhere near SCB and other when Rory slide off but I certainly did cheer, and cheered my head off loud & proud. The reason. My team gained an advantage, it really is that simple but concern for fallen riders always follow pretty quick afterwards. Nobody in their right mind wants to see a rider injured no matter how much you hate said rider but everyone wants to see their team win and I believe like myself that is why people cheer but like last night the cheers soon turned to silence with concern for Rory. I cheer at everything when an advantage is gained by, overtaking, engine failure, crash, tapes exclusion etc, etc. It's me and it will always be me.
  16. I'm well chuffed that we ain't in it. On current form we'd have been smashed to pieces Out of the current selection I think it's between in form Sheffield & Edinburgh
  17. speedwaygp.com has the official attendance figure down as 4810. Now that seems a ridiculously low figure to what was actually there. The attendance figure was higher than that for the British Semi Final and there was definitely more than that there last night
  18. As I said, Keeping up appearances in order to try to not look stupid but only increasing your stupidity. Keep going lads
  19. I see Shovlar & Orion are keep up appearances with there anti King's Lynn negativity. You can tell Shovlar's negativity by his choice of favorite heat in 22. The best and most important heat for me was Harris in 24. That was race of the World Cup so far Anyone who thinks that a PL club & PL managers shouldn't be anywhere near these big events must have been sick in their laps tonight. Great show. Rob Lyon IS the best man for the job As for the lads, they all gave everything they had to give. Couldn't have done any more than they did. A million % was given by all and the crowd was fantastic in their support for the lads. A BIG WELL DONE TO EVERYONE
  20. Cardiff & Swansea both play in the English Football League so there would be no need for separate federations for speedway
  21. You should have no problem at all with seeing the racing. The Chapman's have done a brilliant job with the stadium and the view is a massive plus point pretty much anywhere in the stadium Just like to add Regarding choosing a venue. It's strictly down to the clubs to bid and organise the events and the FIM / BSI committee to choose the best bid for the event. The BSPA have no say in the venue at all.
  22. Let me know the last time we won a group to go straight through to the final when our semi final was on an EL track then Steve 'The EL Snob' Shovlar.
  23. Never had you down as an AC/DC fan mike. You certainly don't look the sort
  24. I have to say, I feel very sorry for Mr Vasey. It was only a matter of time before he blew his top on this forum. I've had disagreements with the fella but ya just let it be and move on but some members can't help themselves to pounce on every Stoke thread just to get a reaction out of Malcolm. Friendly bullies & stalkers is what I'd call some. Malcolm does get on his high horse quite a bit yes, that's only because thats his opinion yet just because he's a team manager who's happy to come on this forum an express his views people have to nit pick and antagonise him. One thing this forum has been crying out for is promoters, team managers & riders to participate on this and I have to say, you can see why they don't. I would like to keep seeing Malcolm continue posting even though he isn't in my opinion always right but neither is anyone else and myself.
