King's Lynn vs Hackney Hawks
Daniel Smith replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
Mike I know you're a massive advocate of NL racing and quite clearly still seething a little & that's fine. Yes, these youngsters are the future of our sport but I know most of the complaints where from 1st timers to NL racing. To be completely honest, I can understand what they mean. In the first few weeks we've been extremely, extremely spoilt by the standard of racing in the EL. New punter WILL always compare both products and the racing was World's apart in quality. I've been to a few NL meetings in the past and last night's I have to say, it isn't my cup of tea either. £10 for NL or an extra £5 for the big league. People will compare that for value also. Peoples opinions will differ all the time as to what they see as good value and for me, Jake Knight & Marc Owen apart there was nothing in last night's meeting at all. The last thing that you should be doing is belittling people because they didn't enjoy it. You say yourself, the NL needs as many punters as possible and the best thing to do is not promote the negatives. Best wishes and a speedway recovery to Adam Lowe -
Olsen Wants Eighteen In 2012
Daniel Smith replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I believe eventually, the GP's WILL be independent from the rest of world speedway like F1 and race every fortnight. I've said it before, maybe teams will rise into the world stage like F1 & MOTO GP. Works Jawa Works GM Works Honda Team Rickardsson Team Gollob Redbull Racing Monster Racing etc etc Then you have 4 independent qualifier spots each season. -
Will there be anywhere us fans can keep up to date on these rolling averages?????
-
That's a backward step and a half but a ride is a ride I suppose

I must of missed this conversation, so are the EL & PL using this system??????

Check out Freddie Lindgren's twitter today. The muppet turned up at the wrong stadium for a practice meeting. He went to Lodz stadium and should have been at Tarnow

excuse me, when you say riding do you mean riding as in trundling, or riding as in pretty fast. If the latter the bloke must be crackers

I know you're not that type of person but that post comes across as very arrogant. I think the rest of Europe should just say to Poland, If you don't use the new silencer then all Polish riders will be banned from all racing outside of Poland. Polish speedway isn't the be all and end all of speedway. It would & will carry on without.

Part Role For Bjerre Monday, 31 January 2011 12:47 Danish Grand Prix rider Kenneth Bjerre is not planning on racing a full season for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien this season. Bjerre's commitments in the Grand Prix Series along with riding in Britain with King's Lynn, Poland with Wroclaw and Denmark with Grindsted will keep the Dane busy enough not to need a full season in Sweden. Speaking to SpeedwayGP he said: “I’ll just do the meetings I want to do. I don’t really need Sweden, but if I’ve got a gap in the fixtures, I’ll do it. I don’t want more meetings really. I’ll only do the ones I want to do and that’s how it will be. I don’t see it as a problem.”

Well, interesting who our heatleader will be now. Lambert is at Stoke & Roynon is at Dudley. I have a feeling James Brundle is in for a return. He'll want to prove a point this year with us being EL I feel.

There isn't any stock car issues that I'm aware of. King's Lynn run under Track Star Racing and Mildenhall runs under RDC Promotions if I'm not mistaken. There is no conflict of interests so I'm not sure what you're trying to say at all???

Times are changing in speedway as a whole. The biggest complaint from promoters which started in the early 90's was the fact that young British riders lacked commitment to the sport. Once they'd reached late teens early 20's it was all about living the high life, drinking and chasing birds. Unfortunately, that still exists with our young guys. They start off hungry and full of flair then flop. A good recent example of that would be Lewis Bridger. This kid should be pushing a heatleader spots now but constantly plays the big time Charlie game. Also Ben Barker is of similar ilk. The thing is, I believe the Aussies are know going down this route also. You only have to see what Darcy Ward & Chris Holder get up to publicly and these to are seen as the guys to take over from Adams & Crump. If they carry on they've no hope of that at all. The super fit and super fast Poles are the ones to watch now, followed by the Danes then the Swedes. These guys are fully focused on the game. Kitted out with full on sponsorships and work extremely hard to try and get what they want. I do not care what people say, the British riders ARE NOT focused and hungry and don't carry the same professionalism of our European counterparts. That's why they get overlooked. Our boys simply have to work twice as hard to get noticed these days

I don't think Roynon would be allowed as he's our No'8 for the EL side. Should think Kerr, Knight, Lowe & Mallett are certs for the team. I think they will go with Lambert as No'1

Why No Second British Gp?
Daniel Smith replied to BARNES's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think a second GP round could work. The perfect place for it in my opinion would be Hampden Park Scotland. Although there is only Glasgow & Edinburgh I'm sure there would be a great number of locals there plus the travelling fans from Northern clubs like Newcastle, Redcar, Workington, Berwick maybe Belle Vue. Make it cheap for the first season, get the locals in and take it from there.
