  1. I think that's true but from my understanding is that Sky ain't getting the returns from sponsorship / advertising. Viewing figures ain't the problem
  2. So it seems we've sold a promising young prospect Simon Nielsen to Leicester. 1, I didn't even know we owned him 2, 2 years time should be ready for an EL reserve 3, Are we convinced the asset system is coming to an end so selling riders asap 4, Speedway at the NA is coming to an end (very much doubt with more stadium improvements) It's a sale I personally don't understand!!!!!
  3. With the riders announced do people really think they'll pull punters through the gates to make this series work???
  4. very professional of the UK Speedway Series
  5. So it's all Topinka's fault. Just want to make it clear that Topinka's meeting was announced at the Stars supporters meeting on the 28th November. Nobody has "Jumped in" or "stole their thunder" or what ever some have called it.
  6. This is exactly what I thought would happen from past history. The riders will pull out now as this puts their livelihood at risk & the riders announced won't have the financial backing to challenge it. Well done the BSPA / SCB in my opinion. Renegades should be exterminated from speedway.
  7. Good line up with the complete Stars team available. Only question for me is it does make the Press day the following week pointless
  8. Monster don't need speedway. At the time being they're using it to crack Eastern Europe knowing speedway is massive in Poland. Everywhere else Monster is covered by all other Motorsports. Monster will not as a brand be hampered by no speedway coverage in the UK. It's a very blinkered view if you think no live GP coverage in the UK is damaging the product. The only damage is to us supporters as those that do just watch GP's will be lost to speedway.
  9. The last time Tai was in the GP's he made a mistake by running untried & untested Michael Lee tuned engines. This time around he'll be running pretty much identical motors as Darcy & Holder on PJR which will put him in a much stronger position. Does Tai have the ability? Of course he has, it's just going to come down to his mental strength. I've changed my mind on relection of Tai's chances and as long as the PJR's hold together he'll finish 11-12th in the series. I have no doubt about it
  10. Just a thought. Wasn't something like this attempted a few years ago and riders were threatened to have their licences revoked if they took part in a non sanctioned speedway meeting????
  11. Thats flattrack racing. They're not just motoX bikes used
  12. But he wasn't offered enough. If an offer was all thats required to force transfers through then all assets whould only be offered £1 per point then put up for transfer. It isn't as simple as people make it out to be.
  13. I do see weaknesses in thiss team. Itt's called injuries. we'vee been hurt so many times when it comes to chances of winning the EL / top league. I believe this is the best side outt of all others so far but I also expect us to finish outside the top 4. It's just what us Stars fans who's been around long enough expect, failier but massive amounts of hope. We are the biggest club in speedway history to never win the top league.
  14. It's the first time "legal implications" has been mentioned in any press release thus far. That is the most important part of the whole report. For that to come off Troy & Hans will have to raise the case themselves & I can't see them doing that in a million years. I does seem Peterborough hold all the cards here as Swindon really need Hans & Troy as they've left themselves no back-up plan
  15. People need to get into their heads that times are very very different even to 3-4 years ago. There is no money about to purchase assets at the moment & would be disasterous to force that on any club. Speedway is awfully short of money. The money bags of speedway Rick Frost is now starting to understand to his own cost what speedway can do. In some way I feel sorry for Frost. As a new promoter he was bullied into purchasing asset but he was willing to throw money at almost anyone of talent too. Wasn't it £20,000 for Sundstrom. Was willing to chuck the same into purchasing Ward???? As I've said before, the asset system is crashing and in my opinion there is only 1 option to the BSPA (& Peterborough were right to request regarding Iversen) scrap the asset system and increase loan fees until a reasonablee amount has been compensated to the previous asset owner. Is that not just common sense etc?????
  16. Batch has been well screwed over with this one & none of his own fault. Really do feel for the lad.
  17. Did I not say that in my first couple of lines?????
  18. Absolutely, if ya hear something share it. What it's all about. How boring would this place be if press releases are to be waited on. Sometimes they just never come.
  19. Sure did and I don't have a problem with that at all.
  20. Image of Kenneth Bjerre's 2013 bikes that he'd put on Twitter today. There's 2 Peterborough Panthers bikes right at the front just waiting for the covers to go on (The seats are a bit of a give away ) <again oversized image removed. post links, not large pictures>
  21. Although one side of the story there's nothing in the KL statement about illegal approach. To be fair, would you add that to an offical club press release?? It does seem as though no illegal approuch was made though. We asked for permission in December BSPA granted loan deal We speak with the dirties and they cry foul and want a review. At this point Iversen must have been made aware of the situation. We announce our team saying we hope to include Iversen. Iversen puts statements out saying he wants the opportunity to jion King's Lynn again. Permission was granted by the BSPA again Nowhere does it say terms were ever discussed before hand. It does come across as though we went through all the right channels to get the Iversen deal done
  22. Yep, that's the offical site so the team is complete. Welcome our final rider Niels K Iversen. Happy dayz
  23. This just adds to the point that the decline is more down to us than the sport itself. As newbies the sport has the wow factor but the longer someone hangs around turning up becomes a chore & they end up lost to the sport. We start to expect more for our money even if the price remains the same year on year. If you've been going to speedway for 50 years, 2002 is the same as today. 50 years ago was way better. If you've been going to speedway for 20 years, 2002 you may have seen as the decline because it's nothing more then your own perception. If 2002 you first went to speedway those first 2-3 years where the best ever, why is that. Correct, no expectation. Is there a decline in speedway itself or a decline in attendances because there's so much to do now without even leaving the house. '
  24. I have a very different approach to Speedway's decline. I honestly feel it has nothing (maybe a little bit) to do with rules, regulations, admissions costs etc. I personally think it's more to do with the supporters expectations of the sport. As time moves on there's more & more other things to do but speedway has remained the same concept. Most tracks still churn out 50's, 60's, 70's music, no pre meeting entertainment, to much hanging around between heats etc. These to me are the main reasons for speedways decline rather than equipment, rules etc
