  1. It's a partnership they're looking to exploit, capable of 5-1s & King's Lynn's weaknesses may not be able to cover off that damage. +8 from that partnership would see a win & then use the others to cover 3-3s vs Laguta. Tactically, it looks like Leicester have set up perfectly
  2. The difference being is that, Klindt & Jorgensen have been very unreliable & therefore could be beaten in heat 8 whereas the outcome is unlikely with Laguta in heat 8. At the end of the day, this is going to be a big struggle for King's Lynn regardless of where the R/R is. Heats 2,3,4 & 5 already look like 5-1s in Leicester's favour. Klindt has to maintain his form from the last 2 meetings to stand any chance in this meeting, it could be embarrassing TV.
  3. Another way to look at it is Sedgmen has barely lost a heat 8 all season away from home & Edwards not so comfortable at home, so looking to minimise the damage from that heat.
  4. Not true, rider's can return if long term injured i.e. more than 28 days. The only thing is Pickering wouldn't have been allowed back in for Kye. Clubs are also supposed to find a replacement after 28 day replacement but regularly get an extension.
  5. That's too Old Skool bruv. We need a new cancellation idea, maybe the stockcars have driven through the toilet blocks or something.
  6. Supposedly he was to return to King's Lynn but after Alex left he was asked to sign a new, lower rate contract. Pickering is getting the same deal as original King's Lynn contract at Sheffield.
  7. He wouldn't be reserve at Sheffield either.
  8. Not sure I'd want any of that field in the GPs though. This series staryed off so well with some big names but it's deteriorating year on year
  9. That will not end well, there would be bigger crowds if Peterborough City Council closed the Eye Roundabout once a week for a meeting
  10. Would be the right thing for Pickering & Sheffield.
  11. That's exactly my point. The 80s had hard times but the sport was highly sustainable, still attractive to new owners with decent crowds & riders. The introduction of SkySports should have stabilised & elevated the sport. The promoters failed to future proof with it's largest income in the sports history. Many many other sports have gone to new levels due to TV & sponsorship income, but Speedway thought it best to follow the crowd & did it's own thing.
  12. Absolutely this. The demise I'd exactly pinpoint to when SkySports came on board. No blame at all is to be put on them by the way, it was the promoters just totally mismanaged the whole thing, over paying rider's, not securing their own stadia etc. Zero future planning went in to the sport to which it really should have hit it's peak. Current 80's standard stadia conditions, mismanagement etc the sport remains as a £10-£15 sport but due to economics the price has to be higher. British Speedway is now in a rock n' a hard place in balancing VFM & unfortunately, it's no longer in the favour of the fan.
  13. 100%, but things are very different today to years gone by. People demand VFM & when you have 3 clubs well backed with World Class rider's, just surviving isn't acceptable for the paying supporter. It's why Peterborough & King's Lynn fans have meltdowns.
  14. Pickering & S.Lambert in Laguta & Jakobsen out
  15. As I said, this sport will break a whippersnapper with new ideas, they just won't be allowed in British Speedway.
  16. People get hung up on the T/S & who they ride with, 5-1's, it's totally irrelevant. The use of the T/S is to be +3, that's it. Bring in a T/S for a rider that's almost guaranteed to score 0, heat 12 was the best choice. We went from a guaranteed 1-5 to a 3-3, the best we could have hoped for was 4-2 so didn't work out to bad.
  17. A close source has said; "City are in shock at the small turn out for the parade after realising there's more in the queue at the National Speedway Stadium, even knowing it's likely to be rained off."
  18. He doesn't fit for anyone at Sheffield, so that would be a strange one unless they're losing Museliak or Holder
  19. That ol' chestnut again. You know full well why people ask those questions. Speedway is no longer a cheap night out, especially for the family. They need to know if it's worth their financial risk. Today's people like to know if they'll be entertained & not have a consistently wasted evening. It isn't difficult, just cause you don't care about what you're watching doesn’t mean others shouldn't. I really detest this "use it or lose it" narrative. It's up to Speedway to provide, not for the fans to help a club survive.
  20. Stollen Laguta's mate from Peterborough??
