  1. This made me chuckle, can we expect clockwise racing 15.2 Heats shall be anti-clockwise of 4 laps duration, unless the SR’s state otherwise
  2. Minimum weight regulation is 77kg + 1% to include fuel
  3. Thing is, there's only 3 left from the original list and there will be more than 3 battered up by the end of the season. It would be harsh to exclude Bates from the extended list. Regarding rules, I'm sure it was mentioned that if a rider gets injured they don't get replaced, existing reserve picks and the one's on the list come in as guests
  4. I agree and up to this point nobody has actually done anything wrong. Ford's big gob and Bates not having an EL ride people have put 2 & 2 together. We have to be careful here as I said earlier. Smart might screw it on and blow all out the water or he might not. Bates might replace ANother and be complete sh!yte. But, If a rider feels they need to quit they should be allowed. The last thing I want to see is under performing riders forced to continue. This is after all about development. Forcing riders to stay, keeping crap riders or not allowing others to take up a chance to ridefif one arises is all counterproductive.
  5. Thanks for that PolskiZuzel, good read & appreciated. There's a couple of comments in there to get the forum BNP going
  6. Only by opinion. They were both B grade picks, Smart could have been chosen first by anyone and Bates left out. Bates couldn't do 2 Thursday tracks and rightly chose the PL. People shouting we should be encouraging these boys then in the same breath saying another should be banned. No logic
  7. That's only down to him, he has to start well. Poole first and foremost want to win and if these kids don't perform, forcing them to remain in the side will do more harm than good. This is for them to learn and they should not be susceptible to being fired. This is a results game and the top league, no favours given.
  8. I cannot agree more. There certainly hasn't been any pre meditation on Bates side. Just simply putting PL first. This can't be said about Poole. Ford has made it clear he didn't want Smart but again, these opinions were said before Bates withdrew from Swindon so Poole can't be made culpable for that. This could be pure and simply, a possible stroke of luck for both parties and neither should be punished just because it involves Poole
  9. I'm assuming this has now changed from the 4 team format originally suggested maybe? If not I see so far being:- King's Lynn 1, Bjerre 2, Schlein 3, Worrall 4, 5, (Legend) Swindon 1, Andersen 2, Batchelor 3, Kildermand 4, 5, (Legend) Leicester 1, Ljung 2, Korneliussen 3, Hougaard 4, 5, (Legend) Newport 1, Iversen 2, Nicholls 3, Woodward 4, 5, (Legend) There was a suggestion that the last spots may be legends. Just a guess because he was over here at the Football a week or 2 back, King's Lynn may go with Topinka. Really have no idea on the other 3???
  10. Wasn't that his aim from day dot though? He's always wanted to build on that land and he's always said he'd build a new home for the speedway.
  11. Agree, he certainly isn't the first World class rider to disappear from the sport because of finances and won't be the last (I know he's not completely gone but his statement suggests it's close) and I really hope the lad can switch it around. We all forget he lost his old man last year and rode through it. We know how it fried Woffy but with Emil he'd also had financial difficulties to deal with. Losing his hero, financial trouble & outside influences chomping in his ear would make anyone reevaluate their circumstances. Also, any rider finishing top of the chasing 15 is well worth a World title every time.
  12. To add to this thread I was going to say we have the best pairing then I did some digging into some data and now I'm worried Kerr's NL performances in the crucial heats 13 & 15 were abysmal and he's going to be facing similar or better every race this season. In the PL he only really switch up a gear from about August with most the top performances being at home and spent all season in reserve. Looking at performances against other No'6's or A graders he has gone missing in the past Neilson Garrity Newman Blackbird Ellis Morris Hmmmmm, I just hope I've just over thought this
  13. And your point is??? Seeing as the conversation is regarding riding on the World stage, EL averages don't mean a thing and I don't believe you're stupid enough to think otherwise. You're now arguing for the sake of it. Lets make this simpler for you Schlein Would Trample All Over Worrall Cook Bridger Barker On European Tracks Which Is Where GB Fails Year In Year Out Yet your answer is always so & so's EL average is better. Dear oh dear Steve Anyway, no more from me on this subject on this thread as it's the Stars team thread. There is this one if the conversation needs to continue http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=75795
  14. You're right, averages show they're all sh!yte on the European tracks and Schlein isn't. That's where GB get battered every year
  15. That's the same for all teams though, you can only predict on what's at face value and if every team fires at their potential Cov will be right there
  16. The reason I'd have the no'5 as the hardest position is at home they in heat 3 & 5 then a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE gap then race heats 11, 13 & potentially 15. The no'5's will be hoping for numerous delays in the heats between, and it gives no time at all to fix any mechanical issues except from heat 6 - 10. Also, within 5 heats tracks, especially UK tracks change massively within that time. We all know also what heatleaders are like, they absolutely love tinker time. Edit: As it's the final updated predictions thread I'll go with Poole to win after Play-Offs Coventry to top the table King's Lynn to make the Play-Offs Birmingham to almost go bust by the end of the season. I can't help but feel for their supporters as they just don't have a team to enjoy. I think their promotion have gone for some serious corner cutting on costs which is a very dangerous game to play with the paying public
  17. Your not serious are you? He'd only be behind Woffy & possibly Bomber. He's better than anything behind them. Cook, Worrall, Bridger, Barker etc are nowhere near the quality of Schlein He's also got vast European track experience which is where GB get absolutely battered once part the UK qualifier Absurd comment Steve Agreed, but if Schlein decided he wanted to ride for GB we'd be mad to let the opportunity go. As I said on another thread, this will be more to do with GP qualifiers / his own personal gain than anything else.
  18. The problem is the response is always the same, nothing different. We keep getting we're having to have to trust their word and some pathetic mock up drawing's a teenager can knock up in minutes on a PC. We & more importantly the Belle Vue fans are at the point where hard evidence is required or give the genuine people who have put their hard earned in their money back. The longer it goes on the more expensive this project becomes and I believe more damaging to Belle Vue itself. Even if approved today you'd still be looking at the 2016 season for the grand opening.
  19. Should imagine Rory is the same. Lives in Coventry, married with his children being schooled here also. He never has VISA issues like the other Aussies so I'd imagine he has UK citizenship
  20. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3165/british-switch-for-schlein Personally I think this is about personal gain, as I says about Germany and the GP qualifiers but I certainly would be pleased if Rory decided to get outings for TeamGB. It's not like this hasn't happened in the past with some World class Australian's and New Zealander's. Personally, I think he could help drive up the standard of our British lads as it becomes more difficult for them to then get it. Right now we have Woffy & Bomber, after that the quality is much of a muchness. Cook, Barker, Worrall, Bridger etc there isn't much between them. Including Rory will upset some but that means with the Brits they'd have to up their game. Thought's?
  21. The simple solution imo is any EL/PL reserve has his final EL reserve average added to his final PL average then convert that for an official EL average next year if they want a top 5 position. Effectively they're only racing PL rider's. Any EL/NL (no PL) rider's should automatically be a 3.00 if they want a top five space
  22. Bagpuss doesn't sound confused to me, also highlighting the word OR. Thing is though, I think all the top average riders will want No'1. It's that mental thing about being the best, the same reason I should imagine Woffy chose No'1 in the SGP's rather than his actual No'108. Also the No'1 position has the most evenly spread heats. The home No'5 has it tough having to be out in heats 3, 5, 11, 13. Can't see the top guy opting for that slot.
  23. Jesus, there's nothing ambiguous at all. It is what it says. "Top three riders by MA ride at No.1, No.3 or No.5". What really is so confusing about that??? The word OR makes it perfectly clear.
  24. What on earth are you talking about?? Ben Barker was and always has been included in the GB team for the Ben Fund. Lawson replacing Bridger is the only ever change meaning Barker is ahead of Lawson. I'm clearly missing something!!!
